The *Official* February 2011 Thread - Happy Dance Time...The Park Hours Are Out!

the month of January is going to draaaaaaaaaaaaaagggggg. January always feels particularly long anyways, but having to get through it waiting for our trip will make it even longer. :sad2:

No kidding!!

In the effort to save money, we have cancelled out planned Undiscovered Future World Tour at Epcot. it was DH's decision. Since the Richard Petty Experince is on sale right now (like $60), I may surprise him with that, since its half the normal price and not something I want to do, so it still saves us some money.

Hope everyone is well!!

January is my daughter's birthday and my birthday so it won't drag too much. I'm also going to have weekly countdown parties in January. That way we can eat in, save money, and get excited for Disney!

My sister ordered my two little girls autograph books for vacation, and my two older kids lanyards and pins for trading. One of my SILs is getting them gift cards for spending money! My BFF got them each a Disney themed water bottle to bring on vacation. I am making each of the kids a small gift basket of vacation items (so far I have flip flops for two of the girls, sunglasses for one of the girls and a sun care set for one of the girls) since DH and I aren't giving them gifts - just the vaca. Poor Santa still has to shop..:santa:

we're trying to get through all the Disney movies before we go by having family movie nights (mainly on weekends)...... There's a LOT more movies than I thought......... I don't know if we'll be able to do it.

Excited about our Feb 12-19th trip. It's our first time back since Dec 2008. We were supposed to be there last week, but a friend of mine who lives out of town decided to get married Dec 29th, so we had to push Disney back so I could use my final vacation week to attend his wedding.

Now it's looking like maybe a blessing in disguise, because according to the forums its been PACKED all last week. Whereas the two times we've gone in early December (2007 for honeymoon, and 2008 for 1yr anniversary) it's been pretty empty.

So we're excited to be there for a belated 3rd anniversary/Valentines Day vacation! I wish we could go more often than once every year or two!

We love WCC. We always get the All You Care to Eat Platter, which we call the "Plate of Meat". Love the atmosphere and don't forget to order ketchup.:rotfl2:

I'll be able to help you with Le Cellier after our trip in January.:goodvibes

I see you have stayed at POR and we didn't feel CBR was really any bigger than it. We were in a pirate room which is in one of the last buildings (sorry forgot the name) and didn't mind the walk from the food court at all.

Have a great time.

Hello everyone!

I just sent in a request to join the FB group & thought I should introduce myself here. My parents & I will be in WDW from Feb. 19-24. We're staying at the Shades of Green. I'm paying for the majority of our trip as a "thank you" for all the support they've given me over the years. Our cast of characters:

:wave2: Me (Shelli) - I work as a pediatric RN at a large teaching hospital. I'm single & I don't have any kids. (Not really what I wanted for my life, but that's the way things turned out. Trying to make the best of it!) I have 2 cats and a dog, who I love with all my heart! I'm the crazy-park-commando, plan-everything-to-death type of person.

:teacher: Dear Step-Mom - She teaches 8th grade history/language arts. Has been married to my dad for 27 years. She also loves pets & has a dog and a cat. She's not much of a planner when it comes to vacations, but appreciates everything I do to make our trips a success.

:santa: Dear Dad - He's retired twice: first from the military in 1991 & then from a medical gas company in 2009. He has a love/hate relationship with all the pets. :confused3 He complains about taking care of them, but loves them dearly and is very protective of them. He enjoys relaxing on vacation and hates having any structured plans. We kind of butt heads on this one!

Our first WDW trip together was in December 2004. I went on a solo trip in September 2005. It'll be fun to see how much has changed!

Like many of you, I'm worried about the crowd levels during our vacation. I made a schedule of what parks we're going to do each day & I have all of our ADRs in place. I'm trying not to do any more planning than that so I don't drive my Dad crazy. If it were up to me, I'd sign up for Ridemax & print out itineraries for each day since the parks are forecasted to be super busy. Hopefully the laid-back approach will work.

More to come later...
Shelli

Hi everyone - Add us to the February list!!!! - My 2 dd's & I will be at POP from Feb 15-22nd. This will be our 10th trip to WDW, and our 5th all girls trip - This trip is truly amazing! - Here's a little background...We've gone as a family when the girls were younger...when my oldest was 10 and my youngest 5 dh couldn't get time off work for our annual trip, so we decided I'd take the girls for a quick 4 day trip alone...OH MY! We had so much fun on our ALL girls trip that they have now become our tradition...We've had some amazing trips and loved every minute of magic. Then 2010 began...& our family has had it's share of crud and more crud to handle this year. No WDW trip for us this year - but dh found a job, I went back to work after 15 years as a SAHM. DH & I decided to surprise the girls with a Feb trip for Christmas...they are going to flip! - SO here I am!

I have to go back & read the thread...but I wanted to say hi:flower3:

Our first MK day is Feb 11th, so I guess that means we should go to Toontown Fair that day, because it will be closed the following day. . .

Thanks for the heads up!

No prob Lynne :)

I am starting to get a bit freaked out by all the posts on the main board about the cold. I certainly hope the temps will be a bit warmer when we are all there!

the way I look at it, they're getting their "record lows" for the winter out of the way now. What are the chances they'll have more record lows in February?? :thumbsup2

I hope all the cold goes away now! (course here in socal we had a couple days in the 80's it was great)

Anyone else starting to get really excited? We are now 60 days till we are there and I feel like I am going to explode.

Last time we went, I was still reading books on touring the parks, trying to decided where to eat (we had a QSDP) and what days to to what parks. This trip I had that done months ago.

Hope everyone is well!!

Just got approved for vacation at work for a quick getway to my happy place!!! Add us to the list for 2/1-2/5 in a standard studio at AKV Kidani! It will be our 1st stay at AKV and I'm travelling with my mom, sister, and 2yr old niece. We will be SURPRISING my 9 year old niece at her Chef Mickey bday dinner w/ my brother and sister-in-law!
