Ohh, some Holiday dates! I swore I'd not ever go to another when we got snowed in two years ago & missed the show, but I've changed my mind, I'm going... Albany isn't so far, but let's hope for Boston or Rhode Island....

I'm missing Clay this summer, AND I'm missing Blake, I wasn't interested in the rest of the AI cast so much, just Blake, I'll see him when he does his own shows....

I read about the show. It sounds kind of "wierd" to me.

How is everybody doing? Brittany just finished 2nd grade. Started summer camp today. We're going to MN next week and WDW in Aug.

Hi Kim!! Hope Brittany's at a SWIM camp today!! It always amazes me when they predict the 3 H's and then I actually can SEE the haze over the horizon. You guys must be excited about your trips! We're heading to Disneyland and Hollywood in a couple of weeks, and I can't wait!

Is anyone going to the NJPAC show? My dd and I were given 2 tickets by some wonderful Claymates we met at the Christmas show in Hartford! I know some of you have said that you'll never consider yourself "Claymates" because some of them can be kind of hardcore, but I have to tell you some of the nicest people I have ever met are just that -- Claymates

I'd love to say "hi" to you if you're going to be at the New Jersey show -- so give me a "shout out" and we'll try to have a short Dis meet

Looks like he's returning to Red Bank and the Count Basie Theater on Tuesday, December 11th. Phone tickets went onsale today (July 31) and will go onsale through the website TOMORROW (August 1). Gail and Debi - you have PMs.

Thanks, Kim!! Definitely had a lot of fun and a great time (although I admit I was a little "home"sick at first...we've spent so much time in WDW lately, Disneyland's Main Street felt like being in a neighbor's house...everything was *almost* the same, and yet....different).

I'm jealous of you guys though!! Have a great time at AKL!! Have you guys got any extra special planned? Is the P&P Party going on while you're there?

In other news - sorry I'm a day late with this...I'm still trying to recover from my Disneyland trip, lol.

OK...why oh why is he going to both South Bend and Merrillville? They are just a few miles apart!!!!!! grrrrrrrrrr...what is so hard about INDIANAPOLIS? lol

Maybe he wants to make it easier on the Claymates who will, undoubtedly, travel from long and far to see him. This way they won't even have to change hotel rooms!! lol

The dates are slowly trickeling in though...you might get lucky yet. Of course, with your new princess in the house, you may not want to leave it...not even for Clay!!

(By the way...I've been watching your countdown for what seems like forever...I'm so thrilled for you that it's getting so close!! Are you guys prepared yet?? And when is her first Disney visit planned for?!)

let me preface this by saying I love Clay and his music..and if this report hadn't come from close friend's I might not have been so quick to believe it but....2-3 weeks ago Clay performed in Syracuse NY with the Syracuse Symphony..our friends paid $85 per seat for good seats (second row) to see Clay..the entire symphony orchestra was dressed in tuxes..Clay came out in jeans and a black shirt..he was on stage for a total of 1 1/2 hours and only sang 11 songs during that time..friend said that he was constantly joking with the back up singers about 'insider' jokes and playing to the teenyboppers in the front row..at one point he was heard to say 'I'm a star..I get paid whether I sing or not, so who cares if I spend time joking around ?...he left the stage at midpoint looking very sweaty..and returned a short time later still wearing the same shirt he had on when he left..my friends were very disappointed..they said the songs he did were great, but there weren't enough of them, and he certainly didn't act like he was performing with a symphony orchestra..they were extremely sad about the entire nite, and may never go to another Clay concert again..has anyone else ever run into that situation at a Clay concert?..not trying to get flamed, or put Clay down..but it sounds too me like he's getting a little too hooked on stardom and has forgotten the little people (namely his fans) who put him there!

I guess I have to change the wording on my countdown...you're about the 10th person to assume that she's coming home soon...lol! It's gonna be about a year and a half to two years before we're matched to her. It'll be awhile yet...

I can not speak to the Syracuse show, but I can speak to the other 2 shows he did in upstate NY. It is my understanding that none of these venues where meant to be "suit and tie" type of events since they were outside venues - hence the reason Clay and his backup singers were not in formal attiire. Both of the concerts I went to were outside venues and if he had worn a suit/tie he would have been very uncomfortable and would have looked out of place.

As to the music that he sang -- most of the songs were from his most recent album and wre all balads or love songs. In between those songs, he did joke with the audience and with his backup singers -- but that is just Clay. He did try to "lighten" the mood by doing a medley of tv songs and in the second half he did a spoof of "classic songs" that was meant to be funny. Most people in attendance were practically rolling on the floor with laughter -- the man knows how to poke fun at himself and have fun!

I'm sorry to hear that your friends didn't enjoy the concert. I suspect they went in with the wrong concept in mind. It was never meant to be a performance with a symphony per say. I thruoughly enjoyed the concerts I went to and am looking forward to seeing him at the Mohegun Sun Casino in December.

There hasn't been much to report lately, but just as an FYI:

Tickets for the Mohegan Sun concert (December 9) are supposedly going on sale on October 27. Which is completely typical, considering I'll be in Disney World.


I'm telling you, he's doing this as payback for the Blake/Chris Rich incident.

Clay is also going to be on a celeb. addition of Who's smarter than a 5th grader. He's going to play for his charity.

Oh, and also, American Idol Rewind is playing Season 2 this year, with audition episodes premiering this weekend. I believe it's sydnicated, so check your local listings. Not only will we get to relive Clay's transformation, but he's narrating it as well!

Kim, the Blake/Chris thing just stems from the fact that I've been paying a bit more attention to them lately than Clay on account of the fact that a) Blake is giving me original music b) Chris is being eye candy and c) BOTH of them managed to schedule a tour stop that was actually feasible for me to attend.


I was 100% Blaker girl up until Thursday of last week (which was the night the Idol tour stopped in Bridgeport)...at that point, I started swooning for Chris Rich. It was a great night from the front row...and it wasn't so bad near the buses afterwards either...something about him put me in full-on swoon mode.
