And what about YOU, Miss Kimberle?!?

He gave you THREE NIGHTS in NYC!!

Shall I meet you on the highway? Or would you prefer the train station? :goodvibes

*LOL* But he's at the Beacon! A terrible location, way up town on the West Side. I'm going to try for Wallingford. It's on a Sat (12/10), and you said tickets go on sale 10/22, which is a Sat. (I wouldn't be able to get them during the week at my new job.) Crossing my fingers that they go on sale at *9* as my dd's gymnastics class starts at 10. If you should happen to know of a pre-sale code, please let me know!

Any more info about the NYC dates?

No onsale dates yet. According to the fan club, the firm or whatever that handles much of the pre-sale and ticket information is based in Texas, so, obviously, things have stalled until after the weather stabilizes. I'm not sure that it'll affect ALL ticket sales, but it's just something that may delay news for the weekend.

Kimberle, I know - I wish he was midtown, either Radio City or even back at MSG or something. I will, however, take him anywhere in the tri-state that I can get him. :lovestruc

You better charge up the cell phone though - I think tickets will go onsale at 10 am for Wallingford. Or perhaps Brit's gymnastics class will have to either be skipped, or maybe she can go early, or perchance maybe a little late?

I mean, really, you can just tell her it'll be worth it. If you can get Clay tickets, I'm sure you can do a cartwheel or two to celebrate!! :cheer2:

Here's what's posted on the site: (it's it the public area, you don't have to log in to read it, for any non-members who may be interested.)

09/22/05 / JOYFUL NOISE TOUR PRESALE/ON-SALE UPDATE

Additional on-sale and presale details have not been posted on the site this week due to the fact that the production house that creates all of the advertising for the tour is located in Houston, which as you probably know is presently in the path of a major hurricane. All of the employees have had to evacuate the city and we won’t know until Monday Sept. 26th if the production house will be operational and back to business as usual. Some concert promoters may move their on sale-dates back as a result, though it’s possible additional fan club presales will still be able to go on the latter part of next week. Clay’s management is in communication with each concert promoter to develop a hurricane “Plan B”. Further updates will be posted as soon as possible. Thanks for your understanding and join us in extending best wishes and prayers for the safety for everyone in the path of Hurricane Rita. Posted by mca

Still nothing for NYC? Why am I not surprised? I'm being slowly tortured!!

Question for the Clay fan club members - how quickly do the pre-sale tickets sell? Do they offer decent seats? Is it going to be worth my joining the club, or are they going to sell out from under me, and I miss out anyway, AND be out the $30?? Help!!

Cookie, is it possible for you to attend the Camden show? I've never been to the Tweeter Center, but I hear that it's fantastic.

Camden is a definite possibility - I'm just as far from there as I am from NYC. :)

Ok, here's my latest list.

Green dates are announced Fan Club presales. Obviously, more will be added as they come.

Red dates are announced Public onsales. Obviously, more will be added as they come. And if your venue is already listed, I'd suggest rechecking things as the date approaches, cause lots of dates have changed over the last week or so.

The number in (here) is the number of people that the venue holds.

Wow - the Tweeter Center holds 6,600!! I'm surprised. Clay once said that he likes performing at smaller venues because it has a more intimate/personal feel. Then again, he played at Madison Square Garden last year.

Cookie, if you make it to Camden, please let me know. After the Toms Riverfest earlier this summer, I'd love to meet you! :)

Cookie,

To answer your presale question: I wouldn't join the club just to count on them, especially if you're looking at any shows in the tri-state area. Atleast not based on the summer tour.

Here's why (again, based on last tour...there's a slim chance things change this time around):

Fan Club only reserves X number of seats for each show - I had heard it was roughly 10% of the tickets. It's not as though the tickets go onsale early and you have access to the entire inventory. They're set aside already, first come first serve. And 10% of some of these venues is a teeny tiny number in the grand scheme of things. Then you need to consider the number of fans trying to get at that 10%, as opposed to the number of people who would be going after the other 87% of tickets when they're released to the public (taking into account 3% or so for VIPs, sponsors, etc.). (What I mean is, you may have, say, 300 folks going after 250 tickets on the fan club, but 500 folks going for 2000 tickets through Ticketmaster.)

In addition to how few tickets are reserved for fan club, they also have to/want to offer them in every price range, so if there's 250 tickets being released to fan club, you may only see 75 of THOSE in the highest price level, and even those will be scattered throughout the higher priced sections.

Last tour, I tried presale for several shows and only pulled up general admission (lawn seats) for one show. It wasn't a show I intended to go to anyways, but in the shows I REALLY wanted, I didn't get anything to come up at all, good or bad.

As far as "better" seats, you're not guaranteed anything. I heard of some people getting AMAZING seats through fan club (although not in our area), but they were few and far between. Most people got decent seats, but you can probably do better through Ticketmaster. That's not to say you couldn't also get very lucky and snag those amazing seats, just that fan club members aren't consistently pulling up tickets in the first five rows or anything.

Bottom line: I wouldn't join the fan club based solely on the presale opportunity. Your chances at getting tickets are better through Ticketmaster.

With that being said, I think you'll have good luck getting tickets for either Camden in NYC. :)

Actually, it was the Theater at MSG, which "only" holds about 5600, so that was about right.

I know what you mean though - I think he does better in intimate venues, and we know he prefers smaller towns to big cities. What surprised me was his show in Raleigh - 10,000!! I know it's a hometown show and everything, but it's such a huge jump. I'd also heard he wasn't selling as great in NC as he previously had. I think a lot of those crazy Claymates realized they don't need to stalk him back to his homestate.

Thanks for the advice, Kylene!

I have had ROTTEN luck as far as seeing this man so far...I'm either on the other side of the country, or some other thing happens. In fact, my friends are jokingly laying odds that I won't get tickets this time, too. Nice friends! :p

I'll let you know if we end up in Camden, Debi. I think we met once...a few years back...but very briefly. I'd like to get a chance to say hello for more than a minute. :)

First time posting on this thread but I'm not sure how they are going to hold his show at the RBC Center here in Raleigh with only 10000. The center holds over 20000 for concerts and they had two price ranges which leads me to believe multiple levels. Last Christmas he was at one of our theaters downtown which was small and we ended up with two shows they sold out so fast. The Raleigh shows tend to sell out faster than the Charlotte shows my mom goes to.

I dunno - I don't make the news, I just report it. Well, sometimes I make the news, and sometimes I just put the news in a list and add pretty colors, THEN I report it. ;)

My only thought as far as the venue size is concerned is that they are considering a half-stage set up for that particular show. All the price levels would still be represented in that situation, but it would hold considerably less people.

It could just be, also, that pollstar is reporting the wrong stats. Wouldn't surprise me.

ETA: Um, because I don't do my job while I'm at work ( ) I decided to check this out. Apparently the venue does something called "Moonlight Theater", which is basically what I described above. They only use part of the main venue and close it off with curtains or sets and what-not. I saw this done at Mohegan Sun as well (for a different show, not Clay), and you don't even realize you're in such a massive space when it's all set up.

As far as the sell out goes, I had read over the summer that his "hometown" show had not sold as well on the Jukebox Tour as previous shows had, including his Christmas show last year. That may have just been an early article though - the show could've been sold out, it just wasn't as quickly sold out as other tours.

No big deal though - hope you can get tickets and that he enjoys his visit back home!!

The BC does weird things but I haven't seen that particular one. LOL Pollstar is known to have incorrect data so I will have to check it out too. My DH works security for extra money for an outfit that does concerts and stuff around here so sometimes they have the number estimates too. I'll have to ask him. They advertised his show here in August as being a sellout. I wasn't able to go to it but I heard it was great. It was also outside and the shows here seem to draw and older crowd that doesn't want to sit in the grass so his inside shows sell real well. I hope to get tickets and that they are decent I'll be on my computer some the 8th trying.

Thanks for all the other information. I lurk on this thread alot but have never written.

Cookie, we did meet a few years back at the Ocean City DIS Meet. Hopefully our next meeting will be for more than just a few minutes!

I know I shouldn't be nervous about this, but I am getting nervous that the Camden date isn't listed on Ticketmaster. I'm nervous that something will fall through at the last minute, etc. I'm so excited about the concert!!

I know what you mean Debi - I think it's a tri-state thing. NY, NJ, and CT are all delinquent in getting those ticket links up!! :confused3 Maybe it has to do with the promoters around here?

My theory is that if it's listed at Clay's site, it's Bible. I trust him to come to us if he says he's going to. We just have to keep on top of things. Just think, if casual fans don't pay attention to stuff like this, there'll be less time for them to plan to buy the tickets WE want!!

Kylene, isn't that the truth?! :) More time for us to plan and get the best seats!
