It appears RCA took Clay's album off the list, so either they're not confirming the June 20th date, or they just don't want us to know about it yet.

Look on the bright side....perhaps this means we'll get it SOONER!!


I'll keep ya posted....sorry to get your hopes up, it WAS official info when I posted it....I guess I need to stay home all weekend and keep an eye on these things!!

Let's think positive! I'm sure Clay wants it to be "perfect" for us! Maybe they'll write about it on his web site....

That's an adorable picture of her - she really is a sweetie. She looks like one of those Anne Geddes babies!!

As for Clay news....

He blogged at the Fan Club this week to talk about the album. No release date announced yet, but some tidbits about content. Good news and bad news, depending on what you were hoping for.

Apparently he's doing an album with new workings of classic love songs from the last 25 years. They'll be covers, but with new arrangements and stuff. In addition to that, he claims there will be original material as well. Apparently the album was going one way when they were recording last summer and fall, but then took a different turn when he relistened to it and just felt like the material wasn't as good as songs from the past, so they started from practically scratch.

Since he's finally talking about it, I assume it means we're going to get REAL news soon. Oh, and no talk of the summer tour yet, although a date has been "confirmed" for his performance on Good Morning America. Apparently he'll be part of their Summer Concert Series on August 4.

I guess I should be excited about this, but there's one major drawback. I'll be in WDW on August 4, so I'll miss his GMA performance. However, I could reschedule my WDW vacation until the following week, but then I'm paying airline penalties, etc. Decisions, decisions....Kylene, do you mind me asking where you heard this information from? Not that I don't trust you, but I just wanted a definate 100% confirmation before I change my travel plans.

Just to clarify, it's NOT a 100% confirmation...so don't anybody go changing any plans just yet. It was on a board (friend of a friend of someone on production staff or something), but, as with all things Clay, plans change so often, I wouldn't shuffle a trip to Disney World this early in the game. In fact, the abc site actually has the list of GMA concert performers, and August 4th is listed as "tba" - so obviously they're not sure either. Maybe it depends on when the album finally drops?

Sorry to bring the bad news....I'll let you guys know if anything changes!!

Don't Post here in this thread much but I love Clay so I'm subscribed! Since it's been quiet on the Clay front lately I've formed a 'crush' another spikey haired guy I'm sure many of you've seen on TV Well this past week I had the AWESOME experience getting to volunteer at Extreme Makeover:Home Edition home and was further blessed to meet the man 1st hand and for some reason I figured you guys would indulge my first post using my new signature here!

Bad news, Clayfans....

The August 4th GMA performance date has been retracted by the folks at the board I got it from. Debi, enjoy Disney World...you won't need to reschedule it at this time.

Sorry to get your hopes up, friends. Hopefully we'll have better confirmed news to get excited about soon.

The show will air May 21st on ABC. It's actually the 2 hour season finale. Also I actually got to be a part of putting together a significant part of one of the rooms. Michael just kinda blew in and said 'this is what I want' but then left us volunteers there to create it. So I don't want to spoil the surprise but after it airs, I'll post what room. Also I suppose I'm biased but I watch the show every week and I think this is one of the cooler homes and stories.

Kylene, thanks for the GMA update. Will he be performing on GMA at any point this summer? As long as it's not at any point the week of July 30, we're good to go.

I'll be watching Extreme Makeover on the 21st. I can't wait!

It sure ain't looking good for a summer tour, is it? Oh well!!

Rascal Flatts is coming to the fair here this year. DH and I thought about going, but the tickets are just so danged expensive. We decided that since the concert falls on a Friday night, we'll go to the fair and hang out near the pavillion and enjoy the show for our lousy $6 admission...lol

I'll hold out hope that Clay will do another Holiday tour and that this time he'll come to Indy!!

I'm sorry to barge in here and ask you this, but....well....

I know you're from my neck of the woods, and it seems Clay was in our backyard today. I don't, however, know quite where you are, so it may have been even MORE your backyard than mine....

Apparently he made an appearance at a school in Darien - any chance you had any local kidlets in his presence? It was a UNICEF appearance, as the school won some sort of contest to raise money.

BUT HE WAS HERE!! IN CONNECTICUT!!!! AND HE DIDN'T BOTHER TO CALL ME!!

Anyhoodle, looks like his hair is LONGER than usual...actually, I quite think he looks a LOT like pre-Idol Clay. We'll see if he sticks with that look....

My friend's husband is a Darien cop...he KNOWS about my...well..."little thang" for Clay, so I'm sure he'd have alerted me if he had anything to do with the visit, but since he didn't...well, I'll just have to hope he has some tales to share.

Btw, I got did a survey from MSG/Radio City. I do them often cause I'm such a big ticket buyer . It was mainly abt childrens shows. But at the end they asked for comments. I told them they need more shows by CLAY AIKEN cause I can never get tickets. Sure hope they listen!!

Um, but since I'm here, I'll share...

I yelled at my friend to yell at her husband yesterday for NOT alerting me to Clay's visit. He CLAIMS ( ) that no one reallly knew about it - just the chief and a couple other guys (and why he wasn't one of those couple other guys, I have no idea ), and he didn't find out about it until it was too late.

Well.

We'll see about that. I think we're not friends anymore. And I told him so.

Here's sad news for my Clay friends - one of my best friends works in a fancy restaurant in Raleigh. The other day CLAY and Ruben were in for dinner!! (He ordered a steak) She said he was wearing a running suit (even though it was a fancy restaurant) and was very dismissive and rude to the wait staff. I almost cried!!!! She said if he was cool she was going to call me and see if she could get him to say hi! Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think I've just came out of mourning over that one. So maybe he was having an off day, but that off day cost me a phone call Mr. Aiken!!!!! *sigh* Figured I'd share.
