I am praying that the other thread does not turn into a Clay-bashing thread...

I only caught the ending of AI and then rewound it for Clay's skit. My DH was CRACKING up...I thought it was funny and what a guy Clay is to consent to doing that skit! I was truly waiting for Ryan to pull that goofus off the stage with one of those giant canes though...lol

I was in shock when he first came out!! After I watched it a few times, I guess the hair is OK. I still prefer it off his face though. Still love him no matter what!

I kind of liked the longer hair on Clay. DD thought it made him look like Paul Rubens (Pee Wee). I re-watched Clay's part of the show twice this morning before I left for work. I thought it was great!

I'm willing myself to get used to the hair, but I don't think it's gonna happen. It's so "not" Clay to me...too fussy or something. I thought HE looked great, but the bangs....I wanted to swipe them out of his eyes for him. It's so very British to me. Which isn't always a bad thing - I love me some Brits - but I just don't love them as much as I love me some boys-next-door.

On a funny note, I was watching Lost and flipping, then stuck around to watch Clay. As soon as the skit ended, my phone rang, and it was the 12 year old I used to babysit, who also happens to be a BIG reason I'm a Clay fan. So she calls, and she's practically hyperventilating, and I had to act all cool and collected (because, of course, I had been hyperventilating and squealing mere minutes before) and she goes, all in one breath, "KYLENE DIDYOUSEEHIMOHMYGOSHHELOOKEDGORGEOUSWHENDIDHEGETSOKEY-YUTE!"

Then she told me she was too stunned and excited to "take a picture" (which, because she's not so tech savvy, literally means taking a picture of the tv with her digi camera) fast enough, and when I told her I taped it, she told me she wants to watch it with me and "can we pause it when he's on so I can take a picture and blow it up super huge sized?" :hug:

I love her. I told her I'd get her a picture online, cause it'll be better than her taking a photograph of her tv.

Can you believe I MISSED CLAY???? :furious:

I was bouncing between LOST and IDOL when he came on, and my DH saw him thought I was watching, and say Clay looked and sounded GREAT! :banana:

And I MISSED IT!!!! :guilty:

Does anyone have a Picture of him from last night? I wanna see what he looks like! :guilty:

I thought the Clay skit was hysterical! I was just thinking that I hoped the kid went to the bathroom before he sang this time, because he totally looked like he was going to pee his pants!! :rotfl2:

I did like the new do, it covered up his ears a little bit less obviously than when they just tried to comb his short hair over them. I can't wait for the new album this year!!

Woo hoo!!!! Doing the Clay happy dance!!! The second they did "best impersonation" my sister and I KNEW they were going to use it to lead to the Clay guy and into Clay. Why? Because we eat, sleep, breathe Idol and saw it coming.

It scared our parents a little. We hated the hair, but a lot of people seem to be liking it!!

I don't even know you, and yet I feel like it was just yesterday that you were posting the engagement photos!!

On topic:

ME TOO!! I was really happy for it because I was watching Lost, and it gave me a little heads up, so I knew Clay was coming. And, as I said, as much as I have my hesitations about the hair, it seems to be attracting a decidely different crowd of admirers.

Plus, Clay's been getting lots of positive media buzz for his appearance, so methinks this was a GREAT move for him!!
