Great...now that article points out obsessive fans...lol...just what I needed...

But that's great news about the CD! I've been pretty anxious for new material for....well....since his last one came out...lol

LoL - I totally missed that. Well, it's not so bad though, cause THEY are compared to Jimmy Buffet fans, and no one accuses them of being too old for him, right?

And, let's not forget the most important distinction - we are NOT Claymates.

Dumb question....what are 'los of covers?' It's late, I have a nasty cold, and I just can't think straight. What the heck does that mean?

Kylene, I'd love to join you for a CD release party! Date/time/location? And don't tell me that you don't already have this planned!

I assume "los of covers" is a direct quote of someone who predicts that there will be several cover songs on the album. I hope that means maybe some Elvis or other choices from Jukebox Tour.

Or it could be a typo from whomever orginally copied the article to the board my friend got it from.

And we don't have a date yet, Debi!! People are speculating the 9th of May, but I don't think they have any reason to guess that except that they're guessing. So we'll see.

Regardless of where or when, however, I think it's safe to say we'll be partying on the Dis!!

Just wanted to report that sources say the album will drop on May 9th.

Of course, those aren't MY sources, so who knows how reliable they are. It was posted with the disclaimer that it could change.

I saw that Clay recorded a song with Barry...so maybe that's one of the cover songs - Mandy!

Although Clay could sing the phonebook and I would still adore, ahem, I mean like his voice...I do wish he wouldn't do cover songs...I was hoping for a CD full of original material!!!

I'll take what I can get, but I will keep my fingers crossed for another CD of original songs somewhere down the road.

My first instinct is that it would be primarily new material, with two or three possible covers - that's what I would think. However, he did post that thing about "opening our minds" and stuff, so who the heck knows what he's got planned.

Maybe the "dual" in the dual disk means we'll get footage from the JBT (which would be almost entirely covers)? And the regular album part of the dual disk will be new stuff?

Okay, my blonde-ness is showing through right now. When you talk about more than one cover, how is that possible? Clay's first CD was titled Measure of a Man, so I thought that was the cover/cover song. Am I wrong? Help! How can there be more than one cover?

Ok, it's an honest question, so I'm not going to point and laugh, lol.

(And my smilies aren't working for some reason right now anyways, so I can't even let them tease you. )

"Covers" are just songs that have already been made. Songs that Clay redoes, basically - like Solitaire, Bridge Over Troubled Water, anything on AI. Just songs that someone else has sung.

Clay posted a Valentine's message on the Fan Club.

Still no REAL details about the cd, but he did add a P.S. that may or may not mean something...he noted that most of his favorite songs of "ALL time are LOVE SONGS." Then said something like..."hmmmm...now there's an idea!"

So who knows if that means anything.

By the way, I'd post the whole blog here, but I'm always nervous about it - I think it's against Fan Club rules.

If I didn't know any better, I'd think this was posted on the Barry Manilow message boards (especially the "Somewhere Down the Road" part. ) We're saying the EXACT SAME THING about the cover albums.

Just a little update this morning, courtesy of whomever it was that recapped an interview from the radio with Quiana.


Quiana, as we all know, is one of Clay's backup singers. She did a radio interview yesterday in...Charleston? I think...maybe Charleston, somewhere around there. She also was in a show that one of the Claymates met her at. Anyways, the point...

The Claymate that spoke to her reports that Quiana is expecting!! She's due in the late spring (I've heard May AND June, so who knows which is correct), so it looks like Clay will be an honorary uncle once again!! Oh I just love babies!!

Why is this important, you ask?

Well, cause she talked a little about Clay (said he's not dating anyone, though I don't think she'd be the one to reveal it if he was, and that the "rumors" are ridiculous and untrue, as is 99% of what people read) on the radio interview. She said....

.....drumroll please.....


...that she would be touring again with Clay after the album drops!!

Now, let's connect the dots - if her baby is due in May or June, she can't be expected to start touring until, at earliest, late July. Which, I guess, is what we expected based on past years all along, but this just verifies it.

Oh, and also, it's also reported that she said the baby would be staying with her mom while she's on tour, but I'm not sure how reliable that thought is, nor what she meant by it.

So that's my FYI for the day.

If this is true, Kylene, this is GREAT news!! I was hoping that Clay would tour again this summer, but after last year's poor JBT reviews, I wasn't too hopeful. This is fantastic news!!

Well, the TOUR part is true - Quiana talked about it on the radio interview. I'm just not sure about the timeline part of it.
