*** The Official August 2016 Thread! ***

I was at Target today and for our travel products I also have our ponchos and shirts that we made packed already. Just patiently waiting.

I just went to Target as well - they had some great tank tops for DD5 that I picked up and got some travel stuff too... We have our Garden Grocer order in and we are starting to put together our box for Amazon Pantry (mostly water) - We have 40 days to go!! 10 nights at GF will be glorious!

Love Target! Yes I did our Garden Grocer order as well. We made our countdown chain to vacation last night 20 days. My husband and I stayed at the GF once before kids it was lovely. Enjoy! We are staying at POR.

I'm late to the party but joining now! DH and I just booked this morning for a quick adults-only trip 8/27-8/31, staying at WL for the first time. Very excited to be trying out another new resort and extremely excited that we're getting back to the World again before our longer with-kids November trip :goodvibes

I love POR . . . the lush vegetation in Alligator Bayou makes me a happy guy lol.

I'm looking forward to it, haven't stayed at POR in about 10 years. Looking forward to being back.

This makes me feel good! Our 'home' is POFQ, but with no BB offered for this August at FQ, we did a BB offer for PORS (only stayed here for two night, years ago before a DCL cruise). Last year was 14 days at FQ, but we walked over to Riverside and ended up booking a preferred room for this August trip (I have been told that will put us in Alligator Bayou). I think it was the vegetation that made it so beautiful to us. We love the food court at Riverside (build your own pasta and magic cookie bar:tongue:) but are worried about missing the laid back, relaxed feel of the compact FQ.

Build your own pasta, uh huh. We are staying off site. My kids wanted to take the boat from Disney Springs up to POR just so they could have lunch at the build your own pasta station lol! We have found Alligator Bayou to be pretty laid back and relaxing, especially if you are in one of the more remote buildings. The quiet pools are wonderful too, and many times we were the only family using them, even though we were there in August!

Yay for 20 days! so exciting!!

We have stayed at GF. We loved. I like the feel of Poly. and AKL better. I am happy we have stayed at GF just to say we did. I don't see us staying there again. We do visit there though.

Our favorite resorts are Poly and BC - but we try to rotate things around! We stayed Poly in Dec. and Poly/BC last summer... so it was GF turn! We love it there too - just not our top favorite. :-)

OK, so after us posting today about ME tags, my doorbell just rang 10 minutes ago ... UPS delivered my magical express tags:-) We're not actually going to use them, but still exciting to get them! So yes, Disney is still shipping the luggage tags to Canada. We leave in 39 days. :dancer:

What do the tags look like? so excited I love getting Disney mail :)

I called and asked them to switch addresses so I can have them dropped at my office instead. No one is ever home then I am chasing UPS down.

They are yellow tags. They have a red Mickey head (we are MK resort @ Contemporary). I was so excited to see the word 'Contemporary' on the tags. NEVER thought we'd be able to stay here (but our deal was so magical::yes:: and we couldn't say no to it:goodvibes) I don't know how to take/post a picture but I have copied one here that I found:

When we do CAA packages, we also get plastic info tags, but I think it's only because it's a magic your way package? The third resort stay (triple resort stay) is through CAA, so hopefully we'll get those tags for our luggage. I happened to be home (teacher) to get the UPS delivery, but ITA that it's a pain if you miss them and have to go pick up your delivery.
Hope you get Mickey Mail:wave:

I have a question about rider swap. We have always traveled with some in our family who do not go on rides so this was never an issue, there was always someone to stay with our Daughter. This is our first trip with everyone wanting to go on everything. So my question is the second parent who waits while the rest of the group rides, do they (me probably lol) have to ride alone or can they take someone from the original party with them?

My Magical express tags have always been delivered by the USPS not UPS. So no need to be home as it is just put in the mailbox with the rest of the mail. Guess it is different in Canada. :goodvibes

Mine have always been delivered in the regular mail delivery too (Canada Post); however, we have a potential mail strike and I think that some Canadians are wondering how they would be getting their magical express tags.

I believe that when you get in line, you all go and ask for a rider swap. DH can ride with DS who wants to ride / is big enough to ride. You stay with your DD. You can walk around, get an ice cream, go into a store, go on a ride with DD. When your husband and DS return, you can then ride with your rider swap with your DS (nice for him as he will get an extra ride and nice for you because you will have company on the ride:-) ) We have never had to use rider swap, but I believe that this is how it is done. Hope someone will confirm or correct me.
