*** The Official August 2016 Thread! ***

An ad popped up on the bottom of my screen about a sand sculpture event at the swan and dolphin during my stay. I'm not sure if we'd fit it in, but sounds like it would be fun if we have an early enough arrival to go over and see since I'm not currently planning parks arrival night. Has anyone been? Is it admission or Swan & Dolphin guests only (we are staying CBR).

I was looking at this as well. The Disney blog indicates it's open to the general public and it's the first one ever.

Anyone think Park hours will be extended in August? The latest MK is open during out stay is 9-10pm. We are there Aug 26-Sept 3

I was thinking that they might extend closings until 11pm at MK, but your stay is pretty late in August, so I am not so sure for you.

I'm also hoping they extend the park hours...we're there August 10-14.....last time we were there in August (about the same time) the closing times were definitely later.

I joined an August trip planning group on facebook. Never done that before, pretty cool. Looks like we might be putting together a memory maker share there as well. I hadn't planned on getting memory maker this time around, so I'm kind of excited about that. I am usually the photographer, so I'm not in most of my family pictures.

I purchased MM last trip. Was unsure, but since I scrapbook I wanted a lot of photos including myself in some. I am no professional, but am the only one in my house who will snap a picture. I loved the MM shots, between the character interactions with my youngest and the looks on my oldest a face during rides it was worth it. Not to mention the magic shots and family pic we still have hanging on the wall. I just hope this years turn out the same.

At $150 I wasn't going to do it, but with a share bringing the cost down to $30 or less per family, I'm all in!

Typhoon Lagoon is so much fun! My personal favourite is the lazy river, but my kids absolutely LOVE the wave pool. Seriously hang on in the wave pool.:faint: It can really take you out! We also enjoyed the swimming at shark reef and the great family slides. Warning... wedgie will occur on Humunga Kowabunga:eek:

The lazy river sounds like my speed. :teeth:
Thanks for the wedgie advice! :rotfl:
