What things are you looking forward to the most? Trying anything new?
We are excited about trying these things for the first time ...
Pirates pirate:and Pals Fireworks Cruise :sail:
EMM at MK - REALLY excited about this event! :cloud9:

It's been fun passing the time with you August Disers! Now, hurry up and get here August :laughing::laughing:

Yup, we have some new things we are looking forward to, as well as some old favorites.

We will be stopping in Daytona Beach to have lunch at Caribbean Jacks on our way into Orlando. That is something we've never done before.
We are renting a house this time, staying offsite for our first time, pretty excited about that.
Having dinner at Raglan Road, somewhere we've never tried before.
Pirates of the Caribbean was closed last year when we were there, so we are looking forward to riding that again.
We skipped AK last year, so excitement there, PLUS . . . night time safari, and the awakening, and the new Jungle Book show (wish ROL was up and running) plus just being in the park after dark, all cool things there.
Very much looking forward to Soarin' Around the World
Frozen ever After looks AMAZING, can't wait to see it in person.
Dinner at The Rose and Crown, never get tired of their fish and chips, plus it's an awesome place to see Illuminations from
Trying EMM This year. We are excited about that.
Looking forward to checking out the new shops at Disney Springs
And, I can't forget to mention supper at 'Ohana, probably our favorite meal in Disney World

I just hit the 15 day mark. Anyone going to be there the first week? Also, any changes in the hours

Two weeks from tonight we will be spending the night at the GA/FL line, arriving at POR 7/30, getting excited, however, not looking forward to all the packing. Still hunting those ponchos just in case.

My DD17 just found out they have an Anime store in Japan...seems more excited for that than the rides. I think I could fly to Japan for what this trip will cost.

We just finalized our trip! 10 days/9 nights Aug 25th-Sept 3rd @ POR. It'll be my first trip staying on site, so that is exciting. We haven't been to Disney in 9 years and the last time we went my youngest was only 18 months old, so it is like her first time...
Congrats that sounds so exciting a first trip for the second time

I purchased MM last trip. Was unsure, but since I scrapbook I wanted a lot of photos including myself in some. I am no professional, but am the only one in my house who will snap a picture. I loved the MM shots, between the character interactions with my youngest and the looks on my oldest a face during rides it was worth it. Not to mention the magic shots and family pic we still have hanging on the wall. I just hope this years turn out the same.
I can't justify the cost of memory maker because 3 of us have cameras and 2 of us take really good pics.

Heading home for August 28 to September 1st!!! Please add us to the list.

BTW:
For those asking, according to My Disney Experience and Fastpass reservations the MK will be open until 11 pm on August 31, 2016.
THNX I'm going to check for updated hours now!

We'll be there there arriving the 31st. Ha I'm thinking I could get a car not a new one but a quite nice one LOL it's a once in a lifetime blow up the bank account trip Disney and UNI trip

Finished fps yesterday. Got everything we wanted including FEA! YEA Today we start booking ADRs at UNI. I'm going to be booking things almost until we leave 14 days almost to the minute until we leave home.

I have a pretty good camera, and know how to use it fairly well. My daughter has an older version of the same camera, which still takes a pretty nice picture, and she is learning, and even my son is starting to learn, so the options are there. The problem with that is, we never get a picture with all of us in it. For $30 we will be able to get a family picture when ever we want it, plus all the ride photos. That is a pretty good deal in my book.

The 31, the park is open until 9:00 with EMH from 9:00 until 11:00. I see no indication of any changes to the hours at this point, with the park closing at 10:00 for nearly the entire month.

10pm.... isn't that early for August? Isn't August a busy month after all? On the other hand, I would not complain if the crowd is low for August this summer.

This is only our 3rd trip. 2nd really as our 2007 was so long ago it was a different place.

I have a few new things I'm looking forward to
Our arrival night is on site as opposed to different hotel like last time (we drive 20 hours).
I added one extra night to our stay so we can actually slow down and enjoy AK ALL day as well as have a day at the resort/springs
The FOOD!! Booked a couple favourites and a whole lot of new restaurants to try (thank you FD)
Seeing my boys actually get on rides, I hope, as in 2014 they were still young and scared of most.
Fireworks, I love the night shows, but we have only ever seen Epcots because young kids and late hours are not the best combo. Really hoping that since we had to get park hopper at least one night we can go to MK and see the show.

10pm IS early for August, especially the beginning / middle of the month. There is still time that they could extend the hours. It has been typical this year for Disney to announce changes to the hours just a couple of weeks before hand, but we are getting pretty close to August now.

Every indication that I have seen has been that crowds and bookings are soft this summer. This could well be cause for them to keep shorter hours. I guess we will just have to wait and see what happens. Although I would like to see MK open until 11:00, at this point, I am not counting on it.

For 30 it's worth full price not so much. Besides most Photographers will grab a shot of all of us with one of ours.
