The No-Way-I'm-Going-Solo-This-Time Solo Trip, a Sept PTR *Home & TR Link 9/15 x2*

Caught back up again! I swear I sound like a broken record lately with being behind.

I love everything about both your AK & HS days! I've seen the Flights of Wonder show twice and I know you will love it. Keep your eyes on the stage at the beginning of the show, it starts with birds randomly flying around and without any announcement of the start. You can easily miss something if you are not paying attention. :thumbsup2

I've never eaten at Crossroads either. It was on the short list for my February trip but sadly it didn't make the cut. Mom and I decided that DTD might be a bit of a mess with all of the construction and therefore didn't pick any restaurants there.

Awesome you got a BOG ressie! I did too for my October trip! It's for our first night there and timing is going to be tight. We land at 2:30 pm and the ADR is for 5:00 pm. I'm still keeping an eye out for one later that night or on another night later in the trip.

I don't blame you for not riding Star Tours. I still haven't decided if I'm going to give it another try in October or not. If I do and still get sick, it will be the last.

I need to see B&TB again! I haven't seen it since 2010. I don't know if I'll get to it in October but definitely in February. My DB mentioned it as something he really wants to see again. That boy can surprise me sometimes. :rotfl:

Hope you are feeling better. I'm going to try to keep up now that the budget is almost done.

I know the feeling! I'm behind on a lot too.

I'm excited to see it! It's one I've always wanted to see, but just miss the start of and don't get back to see it.

Seeing the food pictures on Lisa's TR from last year made me really want to try it. I'm hoping the constructions won't be too bad.

Have you looked at the October Reservation Cancellation thread yet? Maybe you will get lucky and someone will post a cancellation there and you can get a better time. If not, good luck getting there in time for that one!

Unless something changes I will be skipping it. A headache and sick stomach aren't worth it.

I'd try for October if I was you. Heavy rumors that after Christmas it is being shut down permanently and replaced by a yet-to-be-announced attraction, so it wouldn't be there for your February trip.

Hope you are feeling better. I'm going to try to keep up now that the budget is almost done.

I am better, though not 100% yet. Should be 100% by trip time though, so I'm happy about that!!

Responses above in red! :goodvibes

Finally had a minute to get caught up. Congrats on getting the Be Our Guest dinner ADR. I'm anxious to see how you like it. It's high on our list of places to eat next trip but the reviews that I have read so far go from one extreme to the other.

I've heard the rumors about lot of attractions disappearing at Hollywood Studios. While I'm all over new attractions/change, I'm still going to miss the oldies but goodies when they are gone.:sad1:

Thanks! I will definitely do a full review of it. I've seen the varied reviews too, but my lunch there last trip was so good that I'm definitely willing to give them a shot!

I was trying to think about which attractions AREN'T on the chopping blocks according to rumors, and it's a small number. ToT, RnRC, TSM, Great Movie Ride and Star Tours seem to be the only ones not listed as being gone. One Man's Dream and Animation building too, but those aren't really attractions in the same way. Same for the new Pirates. I'm excited at the thought of Star Wars Land and new attractions, but I'll definitely miss some of those if they do go.

BIG NEWS!!!

I have been trying desperately to find a way to add a bit more time to my trip and also to do The Keys to the Kingdom tour without losing most of my only Magic Kingdom day. Well, this afternoon I figured out how to do it.....

I added a day to my trip.:cool1::woohoo: I looked and realized that while it would cost me a ridiculous amount in airfare to leave on the 15th instead of the 14th, it would cost me pretty much nothing to change my flight down from the 8th to the 7th. So, I called WDW Reservations, confirmed that they could add on the night of the 7th to my reservation with no issue and still keep my Free Dining and Standard Room rate, and went for it. I also added another park day, so I have a 6 day ticket instead of 5. I was on hold for over 45 minutes to book the Keys to the Kingdom tour, but got that done too, so now I also get to do that. I would like to thank Kathy for that, as her post on Facebook about how incredible it was for her was the last straw and I realized I didn't want to keep waiting until someday to do it. :goodvibes

So, I'm now off to change my ticker to show my correct arrival day, then I'll come back to do an update on my NEW Day 1 plans and revise my former-Day-1-changed-to-Day-2's plans. :goodvibes

DAY ONE, SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 7TH

I'll need to get to BWI airport around 10:45am for a 12:45pm flight to MCO. Thankfully it's a direct flight so I'm scheduled to land at MCO at 3pm. I'm hoping to land early, which I have 99% of the time. After riding this:

And grabbing my luggage from baggage claim I will head to the DME section and take a bus to CBR!

I'll probably arrive around 4-4:30pm is my guess. Since the free mini-golf coupon is only good before 4pm I won't be doing that on arrival day anymore. Instead after I check-in and get settled in my room I will go out and explore CBR for a while. Once I'm hungry I will grab dinner at OPR.

The rest of the evening is up in the air. Maybe I'll catch the movie for that night, maybe I'll swim, maybe I'll head to DTD, or maybe I'll just go to bed early. All depends on the weather and how I'm feeling. No matter what I won't be up too late as I'll have an early morning the next day!

NEXT TIME: REVISED SUNDAY PLANS! :goodvibes

:cool1: Yeah for an extra day and KTTK tour! I just booked that one for Mom and I in Feburary so I can't wait to read all about your's and Kathy's.

We really need to hook up on Facebook. I'll see if I can find you through Kathy.

Thanks, glad you are doing it too! I will definitely have a full recap up of it, though it will be short on pictures since they aren't allowed on most of the tour.

Glad you found me on Facebook!

Ooh, your trip got even closer! Score!

We found out (from ME!) about a flight schedule change that had us missing our connecting flight into Orlando, so we had to move flights. I was really hopeful we were going to come in the day before our scheduled date ... but no, the airline managed to find something within a few hours of our original red-eye, which DH prefers anyways to losing a whole day to travel. Oh well. It was a nice dream. ;)

Yes it did. Two weeks from today!!!

Too bad you don't get an extra day but at least you found out before you missed the connecting flight.

I was going to do Day 2 plans today, but I'm house sitting and this computer is so slow that it keeps freezing every time I even go on Photobucket's website. I don't even make it far enough for Photobucket to cause the trouble! :lmao: So, I'll just do a quick general update in that I ordered Photopass Plus for this trip. I LOVED having it last trip and the great pictures I got with it. Looking forward to using it even more this trip. :thumbsup2

I hope everyone is having and continues to have a great weekend. I'll be back home tomorrow evening but may not get Day 2's plans up until Monday. Definitely by then though!

I just ordered a Photopass+ for my solo trip in September (a week or so after yours) as well and already got the email that it had shipped :). I am enjoying following along as you plan your trip.

I also live in Maryland :goodvibes

:wave2: Hello fellow Marylander! Don't know if you have ever done a solo trip or PP+ before, but I'm sure you will love both! Glad you are following along :goodvibes

REVISED DAY ONE, NOW DAY TWO, SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 8TH

This day will be completely different from what I first thought, since I'll be waking up at CBR versus checking in that afternoon.

I'll get up around 6am, which isn't ideal, but will be worth it when I arrive here:

I won't be headed right to the castle though, I'll be checking in at the Gate around 8:15am for my 8:30am Keys to the Kingdom tour!!! :cheer2:  :dance3: :cool1: Not that I'm excited or anything ;) I'm so happy I get to do this tour and am really looking forward to it. And I'm looking forward to the included lunch at CHH, as I've never eaten there.

The tour will end around 1:30pm and I will stay in MK. I'll do as many attractions as possible and get a CS dinner somewhere, I will decided where that day. The park's official closing is 10pm, but EMH is until midnight. I don't know if I will stay that late or not, since I will have the full day at MK again the next day. I'm going to play it by ear really and stay until I'm tired, then head back to CBR to sleep!

*Note for the next day: I have decided that since I now have 2 days at MK I will be doing the Crystal Palace breakfast on Monday. :goodvibes Otherwise, all is the same for the days I already posted about.

NEXT TIME: DAY 7 FUN!

That is some awesome news!!! I'm really excited for you to get an extra day at the MK and to do that tour. I would love to have time to do that one sometime! :thumbsup2

I'm glad that things have fallen into place to allow you to keep your CP ADR as well.

KTTK is the tour I've most wanted to do, but since it's a 5 hour tour it is definitely difficult to fit in without a longer stay and multiple MK days. Since I have that now I knew I was booking it. And getting to keep CP the next day is great too. :goodvibes
