The No-Way-I'm-Going-Solo-This-Time Solo Trip, a Sept PTR *Home & TR Link 9/15 x2*

I think I'm just about as excited as you are about your KTTK tour! I can't wait to read all about it since Mom and I are going on it in February.

Glad I'm not the only one who is excited! :lmao:

You should get 2 reviews before you do it, since I'm sure Kathy will do a review of hers in her TR too.

Before I do the next day update, I was able to get a little earlier ADR for Crystal Palace for my breakfast on Monday the 9th. Instead of a 9:10am one it's now 8:50am. Every minute early helps! :goodvibes Now, onto the rest of my plans!

DAY SEVEN, FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 13TH

I will be sleeping in a bit this morning, in theory. I probably will still wake up at the same time, but I won't be rushing to get going. Once I am ready I haven't actually decided what I will do. I might go to DTD if I didn't get enough time there yet, I might go explore another resort, I might just hang out at CBR...I will decide that day. By 11am though I want to be heading here:

Depending on exactly what time I get there I will probably just head right to either Pizzafari or Flame Tree BBQ for lunch. I may or may not have time to do any attractions when I finish, as I need to be at Guest Relations by 12:45pm for my third, and final, tour of the trip. I'll be doing the 1pm Backstage Safari tour.

I'm really looking forward to seeing the animal areas and clinic parts that regular guests don't get to see. And the end is a private Kilimanjaro Safari ride too. Around 4pm it should be finished and I'll be heading back to the front of the park for an ADR at a place I've never eaten at, at any of their locations!

(Borrowed from Disney's website!)

My ADR is 4:30pm so I should be able to make it in time from the tour. Once I finish eating I will hop a bus and make my way here:

For this:

(borrowed again!)

I'm still deciding how much I want to do at the party. Of course I want to watch one of the parades (more than likely the second so it's not as crazy) and Hallowishes, and I know I will do a couple of treat trails. I'm still deciding how many and which characters to do. I'll probably focus on the ones I didn't get at MVMCP last year, like Jack and Sally, Aladdin and the gang, Tarzan, Jane and Terk....and of course Mickey and Minnie in their costumes.

When the party ends at midnight I'll head back to CBR and my bed for some sleep!

NEW THINGS:
Backstage Safari tour
Dinner at Rainforest Cafe

NEXT TIME: Leaving my happy place

That's another tour I want to do sometime so I'll be looking forward to reading about yours! Might try that one on a future solo trip because I'm not sure if anyone in my family would want to do it.

Rain Forest Cafe is not bad, although it can be a little loud with all the animals and thunderstorms!

I cannot wait to attend MNSSHP in October! Like you I definitely want to see parade and Hallowishes.

It sounds interesting to me so I'm looking forward to it. I almost did Wild Africa Trek again, but decided to do something different this time.

Maybe the loud animals will be a good distraction while I'm eating alone! :lmao:

I'm really looking forward to MNSSHP. I did it once with my 2 sisters in 2008, but I don't remember much about it. We didn't do any characters as my one sister hates that but I remember doing the treat trails. I know we watched the parade, but I don't remember anything of the parade itself.

I'm so envious of your Day 7 plans (and the others too). I've always wanted to do the tours and have only done the Behind the Seeds one. We talked about doing a tour on our next trip and it's a very real possibility. So, I'm looking forward to your reviews.

We've eaten at Rainforest Café many times and we enjoy it every time. Lots of good things on their menus.

I really, really hope you get to do a tour (or two!) on your next trip. Which ones are you considering?

I did see several things on their menu I would order, so I'm sure I will like it there.

Well, we wanted to do the Keys tour and Wild Africa Trek is high on my list but it's so expensive for three people. I was going to splurge and do it anyway but Hunter really really wants to do Dine with an Imagineer so we'll just have to wait and see.

WAT is expensive, though if they continue the $50 discount for the later on the day tours then that helps. Dine with an Imagineer sounds like it could be really interesting too. Of course KTTK too!

We would have done the KTTK tour this past trip but knew that Mama would never be able to do all that walking. It's the one tour that we've been counting down the days until Hunter turned 16 to do. So, I'm pretty sure that it's one that we'll do for sure. The reviews that I have read on the Dine with an Imagineer are good and I know that Hunter would love it.

That was a good call I'm sure, since it's 5 hours of walking and it sounds like that would be too much for your Mama. Dine with an Imagineer sounds like it would be similar to KTTK in that you get background information and such. I never considered that one, though I may do it someday! :goodvibes

Hunter would love to end up being an Imagineer one day and is super excited at the thought of getting any inside information. I believe the cost is about $60 a person for lunch at Brown Derby. Since we have the extra days on our hands, we could visit Hollywood Studios twice...once for the imaginer lunch and then once for seeing the attractions.

I hope Hunter does get to be an Imagineer one day, then you'd get discounts on trips! :lmao: Seriously though, it's great that he has that ambition! And I'm sure the Imagineer you ate with could give him some good advice on how to get to that position. :thumbsup2

That's not a bad cost, and since you do take longer trips you would have the time. I'd be interested in hearing about it if you do it.

Just saw this posted on a Facebook Disney page:

"As part of a test, direct bus service will be available from Disney's Animal Kingdom to Downtown Disney. Look for the route to be in service for all of September and October 2013, available daily from 3pm to 1am.
The bus will drop-off at the West Side bus stop, and a return service to Disney's Animal Kingdom will also be available from that same location.

Until now, the only way to get from a park to Downtown Disney has been to take transport to a resort hotel, and then transfer from there."

I'm happy to see this, since I'll be going from AK to DTD on Day 5 during my trip. :cool1:

I bet a lot of people to to DTD after AK for dinner. I know that is usually our plan. Bet they were getting a lot of complaints about no direct route.

I'm sure there were a lot of complaints. I know that DTD is one of the rumored stops in the new bus stops they are building at MK right now, so it makes sense that they start testing it elsewhere first.

You really have a big day planned! The backstage Safari tour looks like a lot of fun. You're getting to do the 3 tours that I'd most like to do sometime! I can't wait to see this TR! :thumbsup2

I like the idea of direct bus service from DTD to the parks, and I do hope that it ends up being a trial situation for potential routes going to all the parks. I've always thought it was kind of silly of them to not have direct transportation from the parks to the place where people go to spend more money. :lmao:

The only problem I could see with this is it will make it easier for the people who "refuse to pay for parking" to park at DTD and hop on a bus to go straight to a park. :confused3

I'll be doing thorough reviews of all 3 tours, so you'll get a good idea of how they all are for sure in my TR!

I like the park to DTD bus routes too. It's always a pain to have to hop a bus to a resort, then that resort to DTD. I agree that you would think they would have done this earlier since people spend so much money there! :rotfl2:

I'm sure some people will do that, but it's probably not any more than already park at the resorts and take a bus there, so it's nothing new.
