I am in a wheelchair - what is the best resorts we can book with an ADA bathroom? I do not care if it is value, moderate or deluxe = we can us a LYFT to get to the Parks, if we need too
I would also consider renting a DVC - but a studio. It is just DH & me (DW in a wheelchair)
Thank you

All of the Disney resorts have rooms with ADA wheelchair accessible bathrooms, so “best” for you will depend on other factors like location relative to theme parks, transportation options, dining options, etc. So, what do you want?

I agree with above. "Best" is going to be subjective based on what is important to you. All WDW resort have either (usually both) Wheelchair Accessible with Tub" and/or "Wheelchair Accessible with Roll-in Shower" rooms. Please note the "Florida Special Accessible" room may not meet your need for a wheelchair accessible bathroom; there are grab bars but I'm not sure there are accessible width doorways for these rooms.

ETA: be sure to check the box for "Accessible Rooms" in your search. These rooms are separate inventory from the regular resort rooms. Accessibility is not a "request" but a booking category.

Carefully read the room description and check the photos if available. Do you need a roll in shower with grab bars in the shower and at the toilet? Or are you ok with an accessible tub? The description will tell you what assists the room provides.
Be extra careful about those Florida special rooms. They often have grab bard at the toilet but no grab bars in the tub or shower.

I've never seen that kind of grab bar in any HA hotel room (WDW or otherwise). I'd honestly be afraid that style would more easily pull away or break with a lot of use and kids fooling around. It looks to be an option for home installation. The hotel HA baths I'm familiar with (WDW or otherwise) have always had a bar that is secured on both ends of the bar, with placement on one side of the toilet plus the back wall behind the toilet. To my knowledge this is standard HA bathroom requirements per ADA. (I'm not sure what you mean by NE USA having different requirements?)

If you need rails on both sides of the toilet, would you be able to travel with something like this? It folds/collapses to be portable.

The studio I had at BCV last year not only had a wheelchair-accessible bathroom (studio was HA, as I requested), it had a door push-panel, at wheelchair height, making it so much easier to get in and out of the room. It was the first time I'd had that in any WDW hotel room.

I need bars on each side of the toilet unless the toilet is ADA height. I sent WDW a picture and an UPC code from Home Depot of the swing down/up bar you can have next to the toilet. They said they would look into it. I guess the NE USA has a different requirement for ADA bathrooms.

That is the exact type of grab bar we had in the 1-bd FL special room at OKW we were in last year. The toilet was a raised toilet as well and we had grab bars in the shower (I remember this because that’s where I put my own shampoo/conditioner bottles).
