Me and my family had interesting thanksgiving dinners... we'd eat venison, rabbit, or caribou instead of turkey sometimes cow tongue even, stuffed mushrooms, instead of whatever vegetable, walnut gnocchi, hmm... I don't know what it is in english but in Italian it's carciofi alla giardiniera, it's artichokes with a bunch of stuff, zucchini flower soup, and usually tiramisu for dessert. We never had normal food for anything.

I live in Florida...but in an area, where it's very international.
My mom ate Thanksgiving in Alabama in the 80s with her then husband.
She said the food was delicious.
It made me want to eat at Cracker barrel so bad, with the food she was saying. xD
