Ughhhhhhhhh! I am SO DONE with my DH's family!!
We were just told that the reason they're not happy (about us having another kid) is because we can't/don't take care of Lucas.
For the following reasons:
1) We don't feed him table food. (note: Christmas dinner they tried to get us to give him mashed potatoes, I refused because Lucas has a milk allergy and there is milk/butter/etc. in mashed potatoes.)
2) We don't give him enough solids. (note: This judgement is based on MIL's only overnight keeping of Lucas whenever he was about 4.5m old and we were following the pediatrician's orders to NOT feed solids until 6 months and then introduce slowly [esp. because of Lucas' allergies])
3) I only gave him two bottles at Christmas dinner. (note: Lucas ate a bottle on the way to dinner and we were only there for 4 hours. 2 bottles was more than enough. My 22lb,28" long 6.5m old is not underfed like they claim.)
4) My MIL had to tell me that Lucas had a dirty diaper at Christmas. (note: My MIL was holding him.)
I will never win with this family. Luckily, DH is just as fed up as I am. I mean COME ON!!
We take Lucas to one of the most highly reguarded pediatricians in town. You have to apply to become a patient and not everyone is accepted into the practice. The pediatrician is thrilled with Piglet's growth, temperment, etc..
Whenever DH told his brother that we were following the pediatrician's recommendation on solid foods his brother's response was "Well he doesn't know WT*F he's talking about."
Yes. The kidless concrete mason who barely graduated high school knows more about the proper way to raise a child than the pediatrician. Sure.
People just amaze me!
Patsy, I'd be through, too. My family doesn't agree with how I do much of anything with Katie, but they know I'm too hard headed for them to change my mind! And they know that I am a good mother, even if I don't do things their way. His family is being very disprespectful to you.
I've had the week from hell. I worked all week, started my new class, and studied as best as I could for the 2 Praxis exams I took this morning. And I was so sick all week. I was having the "auras" again, and freaking out. I did call dh's cousin, a nurse practitioner, and ask if my sinus problems could cause them, and she said they could. Thankfully, I started feeling better yesterday with my sinuses, and the auras went away, too. My house was a disaster, we were almost out of clean clothes, and towels, and I was at my wit's end.
I took the tests today, and think I failed both of them. They were awful! Nothing like what I had heard from others, or what I had concentrated my studies on. And to top things off, my father just called from a relative's house (my mother's 1st cousin), and their son was just found dead in his truck on the side of the road, apparent heart attack. His wife called the younger son (my age) and had him go to tell their parents. He called their preacher on the way, and the preacher called my parents to meet him there. Daddy was crying, and I couldn't stand it and went to pieces.
On a brighter note, dh is on the good list right now. I got home thinking the house would still be a disaster and Katie would be hysterical. I was gone from 6am until 2pm. Instead, Katie was asleep, and my house was spotless! He did 4 or 5 loads of laundry, swept, mopped, did dishes, made the kids clean their rooms-everything!
Are the income guidelines the same by state? Anyone know? MA and WVa. are the same.

The whole apartment is bigger.. It is about twice the size of what we are in right now.Oh, man! That is awesome! Is the entire apartment bigger or does it just add bedrooms?
Either way, I bet your oldest two are excited- will they get their own rooms and then the twins will share for now?
I'm an unnaturally curious person, sorry! hehe.
DH has decided to take his frustration with his family out on some home improvement projects. My house will soon be covered in drywall dust again... so I'm just grateful I never got off my butt and cleaned yesterday. hehe.
They did love it... especially chewing on the end!Oh, you said your kids liked that mesh feeder thing, right??
I gave it to Lucas with a bit of mushed up banana and he's chewing on the handle. Go figure.
I'm not sure how to help him figure out that there is food on the other side haha.
