The boat to MK.....is it similar in size/type to the Friendship boats at Epcon/MGM? She sometimes has issues with feeling wobbely, so I'm trying to determine if the boats provide a smooth ride. I've ridden them in early trips and frankly never paid attention.

The boat to MK is quite large. We were able to roll our stroller right onto the boat. As to wobbly, as I recall the ride is very smooth. The boat is slow moving, so your not bouncing like you would on a speed boat.

Well, we leave in 30 days to enjoy Christmas at WL. :hyper:
I am looking forward to the trip even though I am more of a Poly/BC kind of girl.

Well, I have a concern. We have CL level booked the first night we arrive and then switch to a woods view room. We could not get a woods view AP rate the first night, so instead of booking a courtyard view I decided to go with CL.

We arrive on the 17th and are attending MVMCP that evening. I know for having done MNSSHP this year that we were very tired the next day, especially DD4. I am concerned that we will be very tired and won't have a room to go to when DD4 needs to rest.

I thought about upgrading to CL for a second night, but just got our credit card bill from our Poly LVC stay for Halloween. :faint:

Do you think they would let us have a woods view room not on the CL floor the first night and just let us stay in that room? Should I contact the IPO and talk to them now or wait until we check in?

I think this is a fair request. Call the IPO and ask for concierge access from a standard floor. They "should" be able to comply with the request. If not, ask to speak to the manager.

Just remember, the customer/guest is always right.

:)

Thansk Fred.

I wish we could stay CL the whole time, but considering this will be out 4th trip this year and we have stay CL two times already, I can't complain.

Liv2CdWorld Isn't that strange about the bunk bed thing? I saw the pic on our signature. Are those your children? I have 2 boys (ages 5 & 3) and now I'm wondering if they thought they were doing us a favor by giving us bunk beds. My husband wanted me to just forget about it and stay in that room but I felt that if I paid for something I should receive it.

Yes, Disney has many wonderful resorts to choose from. I don't want anyone to think that I didn't like Wilderness Lodge. I do think it is a beautiful resort and very convenient to the MK via boat. It's just a matter of personal taste of theming for me. It may have to do with my dreaming of staying at the Yacht Club from the first time I ever saw it and having finally been able to do so the last time. It has special memories for me.

I am not disappointed that we stayed at the Lodge. We have always wanted to try it and now we can say we have!

...lookin' fer yer WL report but I can't find it... !

Just back Sunday from Honeymoon Suite stay and am just trying to adjust to the transition to post-Disney...WHAH!!!!!!!

DH and I could not have been happier about the Lodge and it's beauty...Trishe met us at Bell Desk and escorted us into the lobby and apologized for the caution tape around the Christmas tree saying "We've been decorating all night and soon it'll be back to normal." so I said "We don't know what normal is here!??!" and so she gave us a quick tour. Decorations were so special and a huge surprise...thought it was too early. Up to CL and met Mark Newman right away and when he introduced himself as "Mark" I said "The FAMOUS Mark??" so he said "You must know Fred!". I said only electronically -- (he raved about you Fred!!)!

The Suite was fabulous and we got the North view so fireworks were right there. Artist Point meal was the best all trip and that is saying alot from a California Grill Gal! Perfect mild weather and DH even loved Adventurer's Club. We really tried to stick to WL and not so much of parks but that went by the wayside and my feet are proof of it so...that is only regret...not enjoying the lodge enough of the time and getting that glazed-over afternoon exhaustion. Didn't even know that an MK bus started the day we left. Would always want to take the boat! Will definately return but not for a while since we really splurged!!

All CL staff was so great and always there for us. Gave them some Praulines from home as a thank you gift. I am now a WL gal!!!!

Thanks for the report, LATigger! I am so happy that a fellow Louisianian enjoyed WL. We'll be heading there for our first stay in February!

Glad to read that you had a great time! Mark and his staff are a wonderfull bunch of people indeed. :)

....I think our job here is done guys!:teeth:

(BTW ~ LATigger, glad you had a wonderful time!)

Ya'll crack me up!! Thanks for the replies and yes, your job is done! Ericka, you won't believe that place!!!

Fred, Mark expects you to move there and become a CM so we will all be fortunate to have a CM-connection in the future. Sounds like a good plan...I was going to be a Disney nurse/CM right after nursing school...had the application but...met my husband (my patient's son) then and...the rest is history. :p

Wondering if any of you WL Vets know what this is? Or what's in them?

My boss told me "I just had to have one!" on my upcoming trip to WL. She said they are only served at Artist Point and nowhere else on WL property. I'm not sure I want a BM in the evening, But by the pool around noon would be nice...can I get one anywhere else at WL?

So, come on WL Vets...what makes these "bloody mary's" sooo special? Pickled, I'm not sure I like "pickled" things!
So....convince me!

You can get one at Territory Lounge at the WL. They usually open around 4pm.

We have had drinks in there, very nice place to sit back and relax. ::yes::

Do they still do duck races? I have a printout that says something about "find out when the duck races are". Does that still happen?

Sorcha

Yes!!

They still do the duck races!!
Check the chalkboards on the back of the lifeguard stand for times...usually around 3pm

Thank you so much, Beckie! When I saw the codes posted, we just had to book! We're going the week of Mardi Gras-- Taking a 5:20 AM flight on Sun., 2/6 and returning at about 10:00 PM Thurs., 2/10. Since I am teaching, I have 3 days off that week already, and I'm taking that Thursday and Friday off.

I really can't express how excited I am. Thanks to all of you kind people on this board, I feel like I'm already a part of the WL!
