I'm so excited for you WL'ers. We would have liked to stay there in our upcoming trip, but the prices have gone up so much...especially when it's not value season. Are you guys saving saving, or do you have quite a bit of income money to spend on you WL packages?

For us..it's the only vacation we take all year..I work FT and DH works FT, we don't spend a lot of money during the year on entertainment etc..so when it comes to our yearly vacation..we go all out! I have a credit union..I put so much in there per paycheck..and that's my vacation $$ :woohoo:

It is value season for WL and two more words...FREE DINING!!

This has really been buggin' me....Is it pretty easy to figure out how long it will take to get from point A to point B once you're there? Can I assume that most cast members could make reliable suggestions? I can just see us being late for everything we've planned because we can't seem to figure out the time it takes to use Disney trans. (I really want to use Disney trans to save gas so please don't recommend we drive ourselves.) Let me give a "for example".....During the month of February: One day I've planned to have breakfast at Spoodles (10:00) then DD then back to WL for a brief rest then MGM around 2:30 then back to the WL. This seems like a lot of time on buses. Is it? I'm hoping that since it's the value season that trans will be pretty quick. When should we leave the WL to be at Spoodles by 10:00 and what's the quickest way to get there? Bare with me...one more....AK at rope drop and Boma at 5:00. Is there enough time to go back to the WL before dinner, using Disney trans or should we stay at AK and take the bus from there to Boma for dinner?

Thanks all. I have everything planned out and ADRs made. I'm just a little worried about this aspect of the trip.

I was a first timer at WL in late June and had a lot of the same kind of questions - about ADR's, bus, boat travel times, etc. Every evening I stopped at the Concierge desk in the lobby and talked to them about our next day's itinerary - they were SO helpful and never steered me wrong. All of the time estimates they gave were very accurate and we were never late for anything - in fact we were early most of the time. The Concierge in the lobby were great about providing different possibilities also, so that we would have a choice of transportation. My advice is plan everything, but don't worry about the exact timing until you get there - the great folks at the WL will have all the answers for you!

I'm not going now. Our trip is after Thanksgiving....Value Season. I booked it back in January and I've been making $500 payments, when I can, so the trip will be paid for by the time we arrive. You can make payments in any amount. I say....book it WAY in advance, make payments until it's paid for and save up $$$ for food. A little planning and saving goes a long way.

Hey Gang, it's been a long time since I've been on here and I have a lazy question....(i.e. I could probably search it out). Anyway, we leave in 25 days and I was wondering if any of you could post some recommended standard or woodsview room numbers I should try to get. We've been to WL 3 times and always seem to end up over the loading dock!! (I know, I could pay more for a better section). There is always the hope of an upgrade during this slow week!!!!!!!

Any help?

Ok..let me see if I can help you out a bit here. I think trying to get breakfast at Spoodles..DD..then WL and over to MGM within 4 1/2 hours, would be quite a chore. You wouldn't leave Spoodles until almost 11am..then you'd have to take the Boardwalk Bus to DD .. probably arriving at DD 11:30, earliest..then you'd have to take the DD bus back to WL, so you'd have to get in line for that the latest, 12:15.. and if you want an hour rest, you'd want to be back to WL by 12:45 pm and leave there about 1:45..so that would mean maybe an hour at DD, at the most. And you'd be going from Epcot/MGM area..to DD area..to MK area..back to Epcot/MGM area. Boy..did you get all that?? :rotfl: That's too much traveling in a short period of time. To get to Spoodles by 10:00 I would take whichever park bus comes first..take that..and then once you arrive at the park..I would get in the line for the buses going to Boardwalk resort. I would start my journey no later than 8:30 am.

I don't think you'll have a problem doing AK and Boma with a WL rest in between. I would go to the AK for rope drop..plan on having to leave the WL about 3:30 for your trip to AKL/Boma.. I would take the WL Bus to one of the parks (whichever bus arrives first)..then take the park bus over to the AKL. You would probably need about 90 minute to do that and arrive with a little time to spare for your Boma seating. I know..cuz I have to do the same thing :)

Well..which view are you staying?? I can't recommend specific numbers..as I cannot ever remember my room numbers for some reason  Anyway.. standards have 2 areas..north side is the loading dock area..south side is the bus stop/parking lot view. So..it's one or the other...if you want bus stop/parking lot..request the south side of the resort...(that would be above the area where you check in..north side would be the rooms above WCC). Hope that helps :)

A few week ago someone wanted to know if they had scales located @ the airline check-in stations at the resorts. (So that the return luggage might be weight before you arrived at the airport)

This week-end I visited the Airline Check-In at Wilderness Lodge and they did have a scale that can be used to weight your luggage.

Just wanted everyone to know.

I asked the question originally. Thanks so much for finding out!!!!! One more obsessive worry laid to rest!!

What others say applies to me too, mostly. We dont even take yearly vacations (though, I vow to do so from now on....life's too short....) We are thrifty in our day to day lives and have been "lucky" too (worked our you-know-whats off, but been able to find new jobs when laid off, etc.) We had planned to stay off-site (as always...) but when free dining came during our planned stay we cancelled that and said 'THIS IS IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!' So, we took all the food money and appplied it to the cheapest WL room - we knew we'd never do it any other way. So, here I am about to stay __ON__ prop (in a delux no less...) for the first time and I couldnt be more excited !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Well, if we snag a cool view I could be a wee bit mroe excited!!!! :) )

Hi all, we'll be at the WL in December and I was wondering if all the rooms have refrigerators? The info sent by my TA says it's $10 extra per day, but that looks like old info.

Thanks in advance!

My normal breakfast is healthy cereal w/soy milk and a piece of fruit, so I'd like to have that option during our vacation.

Your TA has outdated information the refrigerators are in each room at no additional charge.

Have a GREAT TRIP.

This is only our 2nd trip to Disney (last one was 11 years ago) and we rarely go on trips so I felt okay about splurging on a nice resort. We had money saved. If we were going every year or so we wouldn't be able to afford to stay in a deluxe resort.

Hey mouse-n-mini,
Basically we plan our vacations a year to 14 months in advance. We pick a resort we would like to stay in (mainly delux) and then we know how much we have to save. It gives us incentives to budget wisely and not spend money throughout the year on stuff we really don't need.

This will be my last post until after my cruise on the MAGIC Saturday.

So for everyone visiting the Lodge have a wonderful vacation. Remember...
WHILE AT THE LODGE, PAT THE BEAR'S NOSE SO THE MAGIC CAN BEGIN.

Kelly,

Dizneykid (Jeanne) is at WDW again this week-end, she had family visiting at WDW and is spending a few days with them.
