Exactly! And 2 year ago..during our August trip..we were there during Hurricane Frances..but..it was an adventure and we still talk about it :) And though it did affect us for 2 days of our trip.. Disney was wonderful..and talk about low crowds right before and after..I think CRT was WALKUP! But...if a hurricane happens..it happens..I can't control that. I didn't ruin our whole stay.

I agree with you....if a hurricane happens...it happens....you have to roll with the punches. Look at my sig. Last time I was there in August was in 1992. That's when hurricane Andrew hit Florida south of Orlando. We were staying at the GF. The winds weren't bad but boy did it rain.

All this talk about going again really makes me wish I was going soon...

I miss the lodge...

the WL mugs are the smaller version - the ones that fit in car cup holders - they no longer have the fatter bottomed mugs. Nothing has ever been said to me.
And I didnt say anything to the guy at BCMarketplace when he used his Typhoon Lagoon mug!

See you with your mug in 14days!

See Ya there
:woohoo:

I noted that also..it looks like Concierge has new bunks with "timber" looking posts..and the other rooms, the old frames are still there, just new bedding :confused3

Can u possibly post a link with the concierge bunk bed photos. I looked and looked and can't find any.

Thanks!!!!!!

We had a wonderful dinner at Artist Point (highly recommend it). We took pictures of that also.

Just wondering if I missed this post. I didn't see anything here or under Dining. Looking forward to seeing & hearing about your meal at Artist Point. We switched our anniversary dinner to AP when we changed our resort reservation to the WL. Would love to read about your dining experience.

PS -- thanks for the photos of the renovated rooms. I'm getting so excited for our first stay at the Lodge.

Hi everyone! First of all, I apologize because I am sure that this question is answered in this thread somewhere. :confused3 But anyways, I am booked for a courtyard view room in October and my question is: Is there a particular room or area of the hotel that I should put in a room request for? Or are all of the courtyard rooms great and a room request doesn't really matter?

Thanks everyone!

I would be sure to ask for "inner" Courtyard..so you are not looking at the Villa's courtyard :) Also..if you want to be close to the main lobby and overlook the stream/trees and be closer to the main elevators..request that..or if you want to be further down the wings and over the pool area (there's also a 2nd elevator down each wing, not to worry)..request that :)
Congratulations..you will  the lodge!!

We also have a courtyard view and I requested...close to an elevator, away from smoking areas and quiet. Do you think they will give us the Villa's courtyard since I mentioned quiet? I would like a more quiet area but wonder if I'll be happy with a Villa view. Is it a nice view? I had thought I'd rather have the inner courtyard but if it's noisy, I guess I'd be okay with villa's courtyard (DD4 has sensory issues). Also between the two inner courtyard areas (main lobby-stream/trees or down the wings-pool area), which is quieter?
Also can anyone tell me where the smoking rooms are? Are they North wing 6th floor only? I asked to be placed in the opposite wing because of medical issues. Thanks

The area above the pool area would definitely be noisier than the area above the streams/rocks..and I would think the Villa's courtyard view would be quieter than the inner courtyard view :) I don't know where smoking areas are exactly..never needed them :)

Hi WL'ers! Ok, I just couldn't stand it anymore....we were booked for CR for next year because my dh wanted to try something different (and on the monorail) and my kids really want to stay at the 'Chef Mickey hotel that has the monorail". :teeth: Every single day, I've been reading THIS thread...and the CR thread....and I keep thinking how sad I am that I'm not going to be at WL. (I think CR will be great too....but now there's 'rumors/whatever' about some renovations, etc...)

So...tonight, I talked my dh into a split stay! He didn't WANT to do a split stay. But he REALLY doesn't want to listen to me every single day for the next year, like he has for the last week or two. So, yay yay yay me! WL here we come!!
We wiill do a package at CR for 3 nights then hopefully get AAA rate for WL concierge  for the last 2 nights. We will be celebrating our anniv (w/kids, LOL) and I just couldn't imagine being at WDW and not being at WL.
(and last trip, we got totally spoiled w/a free upgrade from AAA standard rate to concierge pixiedust: )

(wow, that was long, sorry! I'm just so excited!) Thanks for 'listening'! :teeth:

Congrats! :thumbsup2

We were at Poly GVC last January right after our 10th anniversary. After putting the kids to bed, DW and I took turns taking a trip to the lounge to pick up choice desserts to bring back to the room and sat outside on the little patio while the kids slept. I'm not sure that will work out as well with WL concierge.

I'm hoping we'll get a chance to stay at WL for our next family WDW trip (Summer, 2007). We've never stayed at WL, and I'd like to try it. We're trying to decide between POR and WL at the moment, and the decision will pretty much come down to whether the budget will stand the additional costs of rooms. We're planning on two rooms either way as DM will be joining us as well as possible one or two other relatives. I'll have to pitch DW on the idea, but if it comes down to extra days if we stay at POR, I'll probably opt for the extra days... :confused3

thanks!!! Do you mean because of the closed balcony? If we get a castle view, I could certainly stand up to eat my dessert. :thumbsup2 :teeth:
Have fun planning your summer '07 trip! (that's when ours is too!!)

when I picked up my final docs from my AAA TA on Tues, she called to confirm my room requests. We have a standard booked and when she said "bunk beds" the CM told her that there are no bunk beds in the standard rooms and that I could not request them. I know that the 2007 packages have a special category for bunk beds but I thought they would be available this year. I didn't make a big deal out of it since I know all kinds of things can happen once we actually get to check in. But can one of you experts out there confirm no bunk beds in standard rooms?

TIA

I've read it before in this thread that it is true, there are NO bunk beds in the standard room catagory. You have to upgrade to Woods View for a chance at bunk beds.

That's true..they used to be available because I've booked them in standard..but now they are no longer available in that category :(

I am hoping that has changed since they are adding more bunk beds to the rooms - hopefully they have already added them during the recent renovation. pixiedust:
