Way, way back on this thread, I saw that people asked to be upgraded at check-in to CL. I was wondering if anyone has done that recently, and how much more per night did it cost?

We stayed last year AKL-CL and loved it. This year we are tring WL for the first time and have a courtyard view booked during value season. Would the cost to upgrade, if available, be the difference in price between our view & CL or perhaps a little bit cheaper? We might spring for it if it was reasonable. Love the convenience of the breakfast and grabbing some cappuccino when you need a pick-me-up?

I am so sad...I was going to order a gift basket for my DDs bday from Peggy's sweets, but since that is going to work out :sad2: does anybody know if the WL offers any giftbaskets or something along the same lines? TIA

I've only got 8 more days to go. So I'm bouncing off the walls right about now. :Pinkbounc  :Pinkbounc . First time staying at the VWL and we're so excited. :yay: :yay:

OK, I'm sure this was asked one time or another but I'm wondering when they'll be finished with the room rehabs at the lodge, and do we how much has already been completed? The new rooms are so awesome looking, I'm just wondering if I'll be able to get one in September when I get there!

I believe all the rehabs are now complete..as Concierge was the last floor done..and they were finishing that up recently :)

Just back from 9 days at the WL. Stayed Concierge for the first time and absolutely loved it! I did notice that they were still loading in some of the new furniture to a few of the CL rooms. Since CL was not completely sold out, I am sure they were rooms that weren't occupied. Adored the staff-- they were wonderful!

Would be happy to answer any questions while everything is fresh.

What area of the CL did you stay? North or south wing?? What were some of the highlights for you staying up on CL?? only 4 more days :goodvibes  :goodvibes

Is there anywhere else to get a basket delivered? I was just at this website (DF) yesterday and I didn't really like what they had to offer. I was looking for a nuts themed basket and found nada. We  spicy, sweet and chocolate covered nuts of various kinds and I'm a big fan of cheese straws. They mostly just had chips, crackers and cheese.

Does anybody know if you can you have your digital camera pictures downloaded to CD in the giftshop? Do they offer any photo services in the giftshop?

We leave Wednesday morning for the lodge. My DD's have been singing Disney songs for the past two days. This will be our first time staying at WL and both my wife and I are really looking forward to a hard earned vacation. Bring on the heat! Bring on the food! Bring on the fun!

:thumbsup2

I'm trying to decide what to do...I read on another post about NOT staying at the WL if you have mold allergies. I suffer from this miserably along with about every other sensitivity (smoke, perfume) and have not found any med to help. I'm wondering if I made the right choice. Can anyone with these kinds of allergies tell me if it's really that bad? I chose WL not only because I thought it would be a beautiful place to stay but because I knew they were renovating the rooms so I thought maybe I'd have a better chance of a mold-free room than elsewhere? Honestly what would you do? I have a lot of other health issues (some of you have probably seen my posts and concerns) and I really don't want to ruin this trip for my family. I want them to have a good time and not have to worry about me. My last trip was 11 years ago at POR and I didn't have as many sensitivities, but mold was bad for me, and I didn't have a problem with my room there. I just really wanted to stay at the WL though because it looks like such a neat place. :(

I'll preface this by saying that I lurk and read this thread and these boards alot, but I've only posted a few times because my questions always seem to get answered before I knew I had them!! :thumbsup2 I'm staying at the Lodge in 8 weeks for the first time and am soaking up all the info I can get!

Here is my attempt to answer questions (please, any WL vets that read this correct me if I'm wrong!)...I remember reading that the policy now is that if you ask for an upgrade, they have to charge you the difference btw the rack rate charge for the room you currently have and the rack rate for the CL. I also remember reading that if they offer you the upgrade it is at their discretion what they charge you, if anything. Getting pixie dusted with a free upgrade would be way cool :cloud9:, not unheard of, but more rare than it used to be.

Hope that helps!

I can help here. I have a very severe allergy to mold. In fact, two years ago, we stayed at POR and the shower curtain had mold all over the bottom of it because the housekeeper kept putting it in the tub and the faucet was leaking. Well, it was late when we got there and I let it go till morning (bad choice). Needless to say, I got very sick. Housekeeping came the next morning and changed everything but it took me two days to get over the allergy. I'm also very allergic to smoke, cigarette and also wood smoke. I can tell you I have a worse time at Citricos and other places that have wood burning grills than I do at the Lodge. The smokehouse is outside and you don't have any smoke inside.

My husband and I stay at the Lodge all the time. I have never gotten sick there. The rooms have always been clean and mold free.

Just a tip, I usually bring a can of Lysol. Also, whatever resort you stay at, check around and if you feel something needs changing just call housekeeping. I have never had a problem with that. They usually would come in 1/2 hour of when I called.

Good luck. :wizard:

Thanks, it's put my mind a little bit at ease. I'm just finding myself stressing out about everything right now that I've almost talked myself out of going. I have a lot of health issues and so it makes things difficult everywhere I go. I just hope Disney will help if there ends up being a problem.
I know I wouldn't be stressing as much but our last trip (not Disney) 6 years ago was a nightmare. We were stuck in a smoking room at first (even though I requested non due to health reasons, told that wouldn't be a problem) and then they didn't want to accomodate us. Finally they found us a room but it wasn't much better and it was moldy smelling so I woke up the next day really sick and we couldn't do much. This was an expensive hotel too so I didn't expect to be treated the way I was. I felt I ruined the trip for my husband and I just don't want that to happen again.

Finally going back to the lodge after a 2 year break. I've been reading that the concierge lounge and Roaring Forks have been renovated.
Does anyone have pictures of these renovations?
I have come across pictures of the renovated rooms, love the flat screen!! But I would like to check out the rest.
I can't WAIT to go back!!!!!!!!!!!
