Laura, I love that movie!! How does she say it? "Big S, little A, little N, Big D, little E, big E"? Or something like that...I can never remember exactly. For those of you who haven't seen that movie, you need to rent it, especially if you like Steve Martin. ::yes::

I just finished applying to a couple more jobs and I am so ready for bed. I hate the fact that all of these companies feel the need to each have their own registration processes and resume builders. It takes like 2-3 hours to apply for each job! I think I could make good money creating a standard online application procedure that all companies could use...moreso than just a Monster or CareerBuilder, I mean. Even jobs I find on those sites just direct you to the company's site so you have to go through their specific steps. It's just not right!

OK, enough of that...I'm off to have some dreams and then not remember them...as usual!

Goodnight! :wave2:

HuggaBaloo, good luck in your job search. DH finished his 20 years with the police dept. last year and we were planning on moving to Florida, too. Unfortunately his dad passed away in March, so he feels obligated to stay here in AZ with his mom. The job market in this town is terrible and he is really down that he cannot get another job away from police work. I feel your pain!!!!!!!

You are all gabby again today! I felt terrible today and vegged out. I came home from the morning at MK after going on Splash Mountain because I felt so ill. Our new sofa and love seat was to be delivered today and they messed it all up and to make a long story short, we cancelled the whole thing. They had no customer service whatsoever with trying to make things right with the problems.

I hope V&A was wonderful! We could never go there ever cuz DH won't bring a suit when vacationing at WDW!!!!! Nitey nite, everyone!

Hugga just ASK to remember your dreams when you go to bed...it may take a few nights, but it usually works. I also ask for guest appearances in mine....I have an ongoing 'dream' relationship with Rutger Hauer! Each time he shows up in a dream 'he' remembers me from the last one! Like, "Hi Jackie, remember when we were spies in Russia?" Just exactly how WIERD is that?

Goodnight Taglikins!

OMG! I am downstairs in the kitchen on the computer. DH went to bed cuz he has to go to work in the morning. I can hear his snoring from DOWNSTAIRS!!!!! I think tonight will be another earplug night for me! God help me to get any zzzzz's!!!!!!<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/4/4_13_3.gif' border=0></a>

I only have a real quick minute, but then I'll be back again. I just have to say RRBB's pictures crack me up.<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/4/4_1_205.gif' border=0></a> Did you take those at your real-life-actual meal with the chef?<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/995.gif' border=0></a> DH really wanted to eat there last time, didn't understand why I wouldn't spend the money to eat there with kids.

One hour delay today, gotta go wake little Holly up<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/4/4_6_114.gif' border=0></a> and take her to school.<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/12/12_7_4.gif' border=0></a> (We actually drive a van, but I really want a Bug.)

Back in a while!

Hang in there HuggaBaloo. It will all work out for you. Do you really want to work for the female David Spade? NO, of course not! Everything will fall into place soon. When are you guys planning to move? Your partner is going back to school, right? Is he planning to start classes this summer, or this fall? Settle down, join me at San Angel for a couple of those yummy margaritas (if you get there first, I would like mine on the rocks with lots & lots of salt) & chill out. :smooth:
Thanks for the comforting words Deadheadbelle (and of course the margaritas!). My partner is planning on starting classes this summer at UCF (University of Central FL). He wants to get done as soon as possible and there are some classes he needs to take as prerequisites. He's already turned in his notice for April 2. His company is much more understanding, especially since he's in IT and they have announced that they will most likely be doing a reduction in force in March. So, hopefully, he'll still be there when they hand out the packages. Luckily, even if he isn't, they've offered to give him some sort of severance just because of the job he's done while he's been there (I was pretty impressed with them for that).

I would like to be starting a job somewhere around the beginning of April, but if something came up sooner I would certainly not rule it out. Unfortunately I have to give 30 days notice. So, what I'm planning to do is tell my boss this Friday that I'm giving my 30 days notice, but that it's very likely I'll be here a little longer than that. Without going into all the details, I don't think that would be a problem because nobody else here wants to do (or knows how to do) my job. Plus, that would give him plenty of time to find a replacement.

Another thing that's complicating everything is that we have to decide on somewhere to live that is convenient to his school, my as yet to be determined job, and Disney (not just for obvious reasons but because I am determined to get a job with them and will keep trying until I do).

As I alluded to earlier, I am very much about having specific plans and sticking with them. This is obviously driving me nuts because we actually can't plan very much at all and everything seems to be changing every day. Oh, and I absolutely hate the whole job search "thing." Hate it, hate it, hate it!!!

Sorry for all the ranting and rambling, but that's how my mind is working (or not working!) these days!

Thanks AZKathy! I know what you mean about the job market. Chattanooga, TN (where I am now) has a horrible job market. It took me about six months to find a job here when I was relocating to be with my partner, and it's definitely not anywhere close to my ideal job. I actually like Chattanooga as a city (for the most part) but I am looking forward to a change. Good luck to your DH!!!

Huggabaloo keep your chin up. The reason you didn't get that job is simply because it wasn't meant to be. You would've had to move way ahead of schedule, you woudn't have like listening to that woman day in and day out AND it wasn't Disney. I'm betting you will get your job you want at Disney, but that it will take time. Have you inquired as to what the "turn-around" time is for getting at job with Disney? The reason I ask is because there is a Toyota Manufacturing plant in the town I live in. The "turn around" time for a white-male to get a job is 18 to 24 months. For a white female, about 12 months and less for a minority. Many, many people apply for Toyota jobs, it's kind of a long hiring process, but it's worth it because in the end you get a very well paying job with boat-loads of benefits. I've always heard Disney is hard to work for, but you sound like an easy-going fellow and I think that most people who have such a complaint are probably a little difficult themselves. Another thing Toyota does is they make a reference in yoyr file every time you call in to check on the status of your application. I've heard persistence does pay off, so keep calling those little buggers down there. I would call every week.

Anyway, keep digging and you're bound to come up with something. If it doesn't happen by April, make the move, get a job at shoe store or something to make ends meet until you get your golden opportunity. Hold onto your dreams, don't give up hope, all that stuff, you know.

As far as somewhere to live, I've got that one all figured out. You want to be 45 minutes to one hour north of Lake Buena Vista. Close enough to commute, but far enough that every relative you have doesn't consider you their personal home-away-from-home hotel when they want to visit Orlando.

Good morning everyone. We just got back/finished with our workout

now ohanafamily's rushing to get ready for work. He's supposed to be there in 15 minutes.

Depplyinluv, Victoria and Alberts is in the Grand Floridian. And yes llebrekniT, those are pics from our actual dinner at the Chef's table. I forgot to take one of my own main course. But if I remember correctly - it was almost 2 years ago - it was gorgeous AND delicious.

This is the chef. After he found out our likes/dislikes and allergies, we had a champagne toast with him.

We got to watch them preparing meals and ask questions - like how do they cut up all those (must have been a few dozen) onions without crying.

Oh, and this picture is totally made out of chocolate, including the frame and flowers.

RRBB
Love your pics! I would love to go and eat at the Chef's Table! How hard was it to get? Unfortunately, it is only a dream for me since DH won't bring a suit on vacation! He also has a name for that kind of food; he calls it "foo-foo food"!

Have a great day!

To be honest AZKathy, I don't really know how hard it is to get the chef's table although I've heard you have to call right away when reservations open to request it. Since I made our V&A reservations just a few weeks before our trip I didn't even bother to ask. But when we arrived for dinner there was a sign on the counter that said the Chef's Table was open so we took it. It costs a bit more than the dining room, but I think you get an extra course or two in the meal, plus the champagne toast with the chef. It was definitely a special treat. I won't say "once in a liftetime" because it is possible, though not probable, that we'll go back.

I need out of these fumes today. How about we hit MGM Studios. I could use a ride on the Rockin Roller Coaster. :teeth:

It is generally quite difficult for a ressy at V&A in the chef's table, I thought I made the reservation... Oh well, it was something special for my new Bride.

OK, I asked about how long a thread should be before we move to a new home, this was the answer I got,,,(The other question was how many PM's before your inbox gets full.....)

Two quick answers... ;)

1) We don't lock threads until we reach about 150. If the thread you are referring to is the Tagliarchy one you might want to all consider removing some of your scrolling text etc from signatures. All those things together in one place really puts our current servers through it's paces which is why it's slower to open.

2) 120 PM's total. Sent ones and any ones that you might have moved into different folders also count. Be sure to have your little menu dropped down to show 'From the beginning' too as old ones sometimes like to hide in there ;)

It seems we are infamous.........
;)

:bounce:

Hey RRBB, how about the Garden Grill for lunch? We can harass Chip&Dale...

Huggabaloo, are looking for something in HR? I have a good friend who works for Daimler Chrysler in Orlando. She is an administrative assistant. I don't know what department. Let me know what you are interested in, and I will e-mail her if you are interested.

Favorite Disney Snack: A cold Beck's at the Germany pavillion. JUST KIDDING!! What did you expect me to say????

V&A's sounds good to me if Ohanafamily is paying. :teeth:

Next question: Hair and eye color. Blue-ish gray (eyes, not hair!) and brown--well, light brown next week when I get some highlights. In the wintertime, my hair gets darker and my skin gets whiter.

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE, WOW, HAVE YOU ALL BEEN YAPPY!
:chat:

Its been awhile since I've posted and I think it will take me all day to catch up on the news. You miss me??

Anyone hear from Lewski? Back from the trip yet??

No school means lots more work for mom. Kids are driving me nuts. Anyone else??<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/28/28_3_7.gif' border=0></a>

HuggaBaloo see you are looking for a job? hang in there. Disney will come knocking on your door. You are a funny guy and you will fit in perfectly w/ Disney.

I bet we have a lot of happy girls on this thread after Johnny Depp's nomination. Congrats.

Gotta run.
