Can you stay at S/D and take advantage of the 180 + 10 for dining? Two years ago I had some trouble doing it. The first CM told me no, and when I called back the next one said "no problem". Anything official?

I was on the Swan Dolphin Site last night, and they have an offer of 50% off second night, so when I put in my dates every other night was 50% off. Yours seems pretty close to it, but your still seems like the better deal. The only catch with this offer, was pay up front and no refunds.

Ooooh...I'm looking for the answer to this too! I called and talked to swan/dolphin reservations and asked if S/D is considered an "onsite" resort (we'll be staying during Easter and wanted to make sure because sometimes the parks close to everyone except those who are staying onsite), and she told me that it is considered onsite. I forgot to ask about the ADRs though. I would think we would be able to make ADRs...at least, I'm hoping. Can anyone confirm?

A "Hollywood Bath" is where you sort of have two bathrooms; there are two sinks. One sink is behind a door with the tub/shower and commode. The other sink is right outside the door thus making it easier for two people to get ready at once.

I have to say, I really do love the people on this thread. I've been on the Poly thread for years and didn't think I'd find another thread where I could jump in and be welcomed and meet such friendly people, but I've found the same group of wonderful people here!

A "Hollywood Bath" is also sometimes referred to as a "Jack & Jill" bathroom - located in between two bedrooms. Could it be the "hollywood bath" they are describing is located in a 2 bedroom suite?

The bathrooms in standard Swan rooms are called Hollywood Baths - so I assumed it referred to the two sinks.

I am looking to book another vacation, and I am torn. We really, really love the Epcot resorts, but the price of rooms at Yacht Club is a bit much. If you could stay at the Dolphin/Swan or another Disney Moderate resort which would you choose?
I looked at the recent post with the pictures, and I was amazed at the quality, thanks everyone for sharing.

This year DH wants to stay at the Swan or Dolphin. We've stayed at the GF the past 2 years and BC before that. DH said if he's going back he's staying someplace with good beds.

So, we're looking at the Swan/Dolphin. We'll be traveling with DD7.

Any preference for either Swan or Dolphin? I've read about the various differences, but want to hear from seasoned visitors first hand.

Hands down, I would pick Dolphin/Swan over a Moderate... Being able to hop on a Friendship Boat or walk to Epcot, Boardwalk, & the Studios and only needing a bus for MK and AK is a BIG PLUS for us. And the Dolphin/Swan are in line with "Deluxe" hotels, in my opinion. The Grotto Pool and Cabana Bar area are SO pretty - you feel like you are at a "resort". Lots of dining options, too.

Totally a matter of personal preference on that age old question "Swan or Dolphin?"

OUR family's preference happens to be the Dolphin. We like the "hussle & bussle" feeling, the proximity to the Grotto Pool, people watching in the beautiful lobby, the food options, etc. The Swan, in my view, is more for "couples" - quiet, quaint, and elegant.

Our DD is 16 and we've been staying at the Dolphin since she's 11 - we have walked through the Swan and agreed it is lovely, but she always says, "I like the Dolphin better." I think for the Grotto Pool location and food options, the Dolphin is a little more suited for "families". But, either place you decide, you will LOVE those HEAVENLY BEDS! Have fun choosing!

My husband and I prefer the Swan-it's smaller, therefore a shorter walk to your room at the end of the day. While the laundry and the quick service restaurants are in the Dolphin, sometimes it's a shorter walk to them from the Swan than it is from your room at the Dolphin, depending on your room location.

My grandkids (teens, now) prefer the Dolphin because of Picabu and the Dolphin Grill. They also like the lobby area of the Dolphin more than that of the Swan.

There are more rooms with a view at the Dolphin, so you do have a better chance of seeing fireworks from a Dolphin room.

Of our more than 20 stays at the S/D, the great majority of them have been at the Dolphin (probably a ratio of 5 or 6:1), but in July, we will be back at the Swan. The boys were like "Not the Dolphin?? Why not?" and my husband was "Woo-hoo!!!!!"

Ditto everything SingingMom said. I love everything about S/D, especially the price. I'm heading to BC Friday and I'm so excited but slightly bummed it isn't Dolphin. There are 5 of us on this trip so we chose the room with the daybed over putting a trundle in the room. But I will be at Dolphin in July and I can't wait.

The Dolphin is amazing - actually, you can't go wrong with either Swan or Dolphin - but I prefer Dolphin for the reason SingingMom said. It wouldn't even be a question as to whether I'd choose them over a moderate and I'd even choose them over many or at least equal to many of the deluxes.

Just 9 days to our first stay at the Dolphin (well, at either of them).

I originally chose it because of the price and proximity to Epcot (going mostly for the Flower & Garden festival, which we've never seen).

To be honest, Epcot and DHS are our # 3 and 4 parks. And we stayed at BWV a year ago and didn't love it. So we've been hesitant about the Epcot area since.

But you guys have me SOOOOO excited about this resort. Especially since this is going to be a relaxing, non-commando trip. I'm especially excited about our proximity to Jellyrolls. We've missed it the last 2 trips.

Anyway, thanks again for this great thread and for making Swan/Dolphin newbies feel so welcome.

Thanks so much for this comparison - it is very helpful! I was trying to decide between the two for next March and since I have 2 younger kids, I went with the Dolphin thanks to your comments/suggestions!

Hi everyone! I'm home sick today so I'm catching up on all of my subbed threads!! Wow, Blondie, what an awesome stay you must have had! Tinkerbelle, nice job on the upgrade and I love getting the updates while you're there. Oh and to chime in about the SD versus the mods, definately the SD handsdown. Location, restos, heavenly beds, etc., etc., etc.!
