WOO HOO JILL!!!!

The Dolphin provides Shine by Bliss toiletry items. Supposedly these are high-end - or moreso than the Bath & Body Works Lime Verbena they used to provide - but I do not like them AT ALL! LOVED the B&BW. I take my own when staying at S/D.

Yeah Dan, I finally win something - worst room view ever in WDW. I guess I should be happy to say I won something! The last 2 free upgrades I got there surely made up for it though!

I'm with you - I prefered the B&BW products to the Bliss - my home favorite is Coconut Lime Verbena, so I was right at home at the Dolphin. Oh well.. I bring my own now. lol

I really love this thread and the people here and I think the Dolphin is going to be a good choice.

I am now moving on to food....what are the must eat places at the S/D, and is it mandatory to have ressies ahead of time? What are the characters at the Garden Grove, and are the characters there all day, or just at breakfast?
Yep - we are a happy, friendly bunch! :dance3:
Food wise - "FRESH" for breakfast is very good - although it can take a bit of time, so don't go on a day you are anxious to get to a park. We take one leisurely morning each trip there. I particularly like the homemade waffles!
Shula's is delicious - if you are familiar with Ruth's Chris Steakhouse, it is very similiar. Pricey, but the atmosphere is lovely. This trip we have reservations for Il Mulino (spelling?! lol) over at the Swan. Being Italian, I usually shy away from "Italian restaurants" unless they are the type that grandma is cooking in the back.. (You get spoiled when you know what it is SUPPOSED to taste like!) But we hear good reviews for this one, so we are going to try it.

it sure is a great feeling I still have to cancel my ressie at port orleans. But i'm getting so excited! Will they provide soap? and If I use the shampoo do they provide ample supply. I must say to all of you that this is on of the most friendliest boards on here. I do also love beach and yacht club boards but everyone here is so very friendly and kind and that is what it should all be about helping not fighting. Thanks to all. anyone have any room photos? Alos instead of getting the cot may I bring a air mattress?

If you have thick hair, you might need to ask for extra shampoo. DD and I would never be able to use what is normally left.

And... it's so nice to know that people feel welcome and comfortable on our little thread. We are a friendly bunch! :grouphug:

oh I would like to see some photos of inside the rooms any of you have those?

I don't have any good pics of inside the rooms - however all 3 rooms I've had at The Dolphin - standard, Resort view w/balcony and Epcot fireworks view w/balcony have been identical inside, as far as the set up & size.

Gee, I've missed so much just by being away for a day, so here's my catching up without quoting every thread.

Ello Poppet- Yipeee!!!!! I'm so happy for you :banana::banana: I can't wait to hear how you enjoyed your stay at Dolphin.

I also miss the oatmeal soap:sad1:. It was the best!

At this point in my life, I wouldn't splurge for the fireworks view either, but when the kids were still napping and I spent a lot of time in the room I was willing to pay almost anything. One time we had the most amazing corner room and the Illuminations fireworks were amazing.

As far as things to do outside of the parks, but near resort, don't forget the movies every night on the beach near BC. I've never done it, but it sounds like such a nice, winddown kind of thing and it's free!

My must eat for my trip next week is sushi at Kimono's. It's for my b-day and I couldn't be more excited to try it out. Sushi is my favorite, but I have yet to find a place at Disney that excites me. From what I've heard, Kimono's should be that place.

I can't believe you can do live updates from Mears shuttle. Too funny. Can't wait to hear more.

Ok, I think I'm caught up. Thanks for the entertainment and another chance to see my ticker!!!!

thanks Tar just what i was looking for!! What is that area when you just walk in? I take it the famous oatmeal soap is gone but...they will have soap? The water in the room is it a water bottle or a bigger? Thanks Jill

The 2 free water bottles are full size.

When you enter the room there is a closet on your left (or right- depending which way your room is set up!) and the opening to the bathroom area is to the right. That opening has vanity area, mirrors, pull-out make-up mirror, hair dryer, counter top & the one sink. Inside there is the door that goes into the room with the toilet & tub/shower. Just past the closet on the left, is another counter area with a mirror, your ice bucket & the coffee pot. In the cabinet under that is the fridge.

What's a fivepeat? what are your dates we are there Jun 20-29 maybe I'll see you by the pool I'll save you a seat hehe

LOL a five-peat is what I'm aiming for - I'm only at a four-peat!!!

Meaning her next trip is her 5th "repeat" trip to S/D!!!

Yes, our dates overlap! :cool1:
Save two seats - one under an umbrella for my fair-skinned DH!  Me, I'm all for the FLORIDA SUN !!:beach:

I asked for a balcony or patio even though I'm on the conference rate and she gave me a patio room with a view of HS. Very cool! But the room is not refurbished. In fact, it is very worn. But it is clean and functionable. I am at MK right now waiting for my food at my fave-Columbia Harbour House.
