Just booked Poly LVC with a AAA rate for April!!! We're excited, since we've never stayed at the Poly before (only YC and GF and we love them both)! Hopefully, we'll find another favorite resort on this next trip!

There are only 6 drawers in the dresser at the Poly, so I would say bring it.

Thanks so much!! I was actually thinking of leaving it behind, but you've convinced me otherwise!

I have requested a room on the Northwest (Hawaii side) of Tokelau.

I am hoping to get a side view of the beach and possibly Castle.

Can anyone post pics of your Northwest Tokelau views?

TIA

GofFreak-

Thanks for the sentiments. I certainly will ask, for an upgrade I did call the Reservationist and they said that they had a lot of rooms that were vacant so hopefully, I can get upgraded, even maybe to a lagoon view. I'll see. I have stayed at the Animal Kingdom lodge and was upgraded there twice, both stays were in September.

Thanks again!

Brunette:goodvibes

Headed to AAA tomorrow to book: May 2-8, 2009 Magic Your Way Package Plus Dining with 7 day tickets - Park Hopper and Water Park options added; at the Polynesian, garden view. Request: 1st floor, Tokealu, east side.

Booked my Thanksgiving 09 package today. Staying in Garden View Club Level for that week. Does anyone know what buildings the Club Level are in for this view??

I believe all the club level rooms (except for the suites) are in the Hawaii building.:)

Right, all of the garden view club level rooms are in the Hawaii building. :)

Hi! I was just wondering if there is a shuttle or bus from Poly to the nearest church (Mary Queen of Universe, I think) on Sundays? or must we take a taxi? Thanks!

I can't recall any shuttle that will take you there so I would suggest taking a taxi. There are usually plenty of taxis lined up for hire right outside of the GCH.

Hope that helps! :thumbsup2

There are some pics from our garden view concierge balcony in my trip report... I think on page 5 or so... just click the link in my signature. ;)

Totally OT here, but just chiming in as another HUGE Clapton fan!!! I've seen him several times also, most recently on May 31. LOOOOOOVE him!! I think he is the hottest man alive!

I think Poly lovers must just have all-around good taste!!!

I think you're right !! and umm Clapton is mine, you'll have to fight me for him :rotfl:

johnsonset, that first photo is incredible. I think it should be a postcard. Thanks for posting all your beautiful Polynesian photos.:surfweb:

I totally agree ! and thanks so much for answering questions and posting all the pics, they are all beautiful !!!!!!!!

I'd be curious to know this as well.....when I was little, they had mass right there at the Poly!!! Too bad they don't do that any more!

Hi,
Is there a place where "average" travel times are listed from the Poly to the various parks? I'm assuming that the monorail to MK and Epcot would be about 15 minutes (am I wrong?) but I have no idea about the bus to HS or Downtown Disney. Thanks!! Oh, and what about the monorail to GF or the Contemporary? what is the longest the monorail loop takes if you went the whole way (that way I can assume the worst when planning for our ADR's at those places). When I made the ADR's, they said to assume an hour for transportation. WHat???? That's crazy, right. being at the POLY!

I think your estimate of 15 minutes to Epcot and MK are good ones assuming you mean after you get to the respective monorail stops. It will often be less than that but better to allow extra time. Be sure to walk to the TTC.

The GF is the next stop on the resort monorail so it takes about two minutes actual travel time. The CR is after the MK so harder to guesstimate that one as sometimes the monorail waits at the MK for a bit. That also happens sometimes at the CR and TTC so its hard to predict how long a whole loop will be. I'd allow 40 minutes just in case.

I've never taken a bus to DTD as we always have a car but I have seen many reports that it can take forever to get there by bus. I've seen those complaints for all the deluxe resorts though....don't know about the values and mods.

No shuttle to the Shrine. Cab it or rent a car for the day which might be cheaper?

Is it true that once you stay at the Polynesian resort you never go back to any of the other resorts?

Well, you *may* go back to other resorts but your heart will always belong to the Poly. :lovestruc At least that's how it is for us.
