Thanks for responding, Jessica...I suppose we can have a "private" chat 'til they all get back from the Lodge:p (in fact, I do know that several "regulars" are there right now!)

Actually, I've really enjoyed this thread too and learned SO much over the last month and a half since we made our plans...the preparation is such a big part of the fun of going to DW!

So, my question is: can you get Concierge SERVICE at WL (i.e., access to the food, staff, seating area) without staying in a WL Concierge ROOM? If it is possible to ask for the service but take your assigned room, will that make the upgrade less expensive and easier to get?

 Hi! I'm here too!

Although a bit green with envy at all the folks currently at the WL- I'm sure they are having a great time!

I don't have any direct concierge experience but from reading these boards, I remember folks posting that they have received Concierge floor access but weren't actually on the Concierge floor. I don't believe they got the upgrade cheaper as the service is still the same- food and Concierge help etc.

Hope that is a help!

You are in your final week of waiting! How exciting!! Happy last minute planning!!

Oh...no answers for you on the video connection. If Majestic pops in, he'd be the best to answer that question I think!

I just answered a question like this one a few pages back but here goes again.

Yes you "can" do this but I think they only do this when the rooms are full on the 7th floor or if you want a smoking room but I could be wrong. 7th floor is non smoking.

I am pretty sure it's the same price to stay on a different floor and have concierge access or stay on the concierge floor itself.

I feel that by not being on the floor itself you would miss out on many of the perks that concierge offers. You would also get tired of having to go to the elevator each time to go to the 7th floor then back to your room.

I really enjoy just walking down the hall and being there whether is be for a chat or help from the concierge CMs (who are wonderfull if I may say so....) or to get some snacks. You kinda feel like the whole 7th floor is yours with the keycard access too. It's wierd and I don't know how to explain it.

As for your TV question, I am almost positive that you can hook your camera up to the tv in the room. Sorry if the answers weren't fast enough but I haven't been on with enough time to post since yesterday morning really.

Well, since my last post/question about resort TV got silence:eek: , let me try another...

As you can see from my countdown clock, we're going to WL next week. We've booked a Standard Room, and although we'll be happy if we get a complementary upgrade, we'll be fine if we don't. However, as the day draws nearer, I'm getting enticed by the idea of Concierge service, especially if at check-in it's available to us at a reasonable upgrade price (I've read of some amazing upgrade-to-Concierge deals).

So, my question is: can you get Concierge SERVICE at WL (i.e., access to the food, staff, seating area) without staying in a WL Concierge ROOM? If it is possible to ask for the service but take your assigned room, will that make the upgrade less expensive and easier to get?

Thanks, campinggal and Majestic.

Once again you folks demonstrated you are THE authorities on WL...I got an e-mail correspondence from a Disney-specialist TA who knows WL very well and had stayed Concierge there, and SHE didn't know it was possible to stay off-floor and still get Concierge service:)

LOTS of pixie dust coming your way for a wonderful vacation!!! Doin the single digit dance for you here in PA.:cool1: Can't wait for those trip reports! (hint, hint) :hyper: It's the only way I'm going to stand it till our next trip in 2005.

BEST WISHES!!! Jessica:wave:

This will be our first trip to WL and I'm very excited! Ok, I know that I would like to request the inner courtyard, and up a few floors so its not too noisy. But I'm not sure about North vs. South side, or closer or further from the lobby. I'm not worried about walking distance, just looking for the best view. I know, I know it is all beautiful, and the room is nothing to stress about. . . just looking for suggestions. My DH and I will probably spend quite a bit of time out there at night when 3 year old DD goes to bed.

Hi,

I'm back here at my other home. We met MICKEY'S DREAMERS (Laura & Marco) this morning next to Humphrey and had a wonderful visit.

They both were still a little tired after traveling half way around the globe, but Laura said the Lodge was like coming home. She was surprised by this as they have never stayed or even seen the Wilderness Lodge before. (I told her I know, I know)

I will let her describe her other thoughts because they arrived yesterday around 5:00pm and hadn't had much time to explore yet. After 14 days at the Lodge I'm sure she will be a VET by the time she arrives home in about 3 weeks.

We met around 8:30am and had breakfast at WCC my two nephews Blake, Bailey and my Sister joined us, Laura had gifts (the boys received pins from Euro Disney Paris) I received a beautiful Calendario Italia The photo's are so beautiful I would love to visit Italy tomorrow. Laura & Marco Thank You once again.

The CM's where up to the usual shenanigans. We all took part singing, dancing, hollering...Oh yes and eating :p Laura said she was glad they weren't alone for their first encounter, she now knows what to ask for and what not to ask for...I tried to explain but sometimes you just can't explain you just have to go along and do what you are told to do. Breakfast was delicious but over way to soon. We said our good-bys, I'm sure Laura and Marco are going to have a very MAGICAL TRIP.

First thing on Laura's to do list was to rub Humphrey's Nose for FloridaCat/Roy. Roy your going to have to put a new coat of varnish on that silly bears nose soon.

Here are a few photo's from this morning:

Hi JMac29

Just my preference...I love a Inner-Courtyard View South Side of the Lodge third or forth floor about half-way down near the elevator. These rooms have a great view of Silver Creek, pool, & geyser.

Ronald Duck, its been a couple of years since I was last at WL, but when I was, I was able to hook up my Sony Dig Camera up to the TV and view my photos and mpg movies. Sorry I can't remember whether it was stereo or mono hook up for sound.

Liv2CdWorld -- On another thread, someone said they got the deluxe room at 40% off in December 2002 and were hoping to get it again. I wish I knew something more definite.

BTW, my previous post was in response to this from a couple of pages back:

Fridye,

During our in December (value season), I tried to apply a discount to the Jr. Suite and they told me that they don't offer any discounts on the Jr. Suite. Therefore, I would have to pay rack rate.

I'd be interested to know if this has changed.

--------------------------------------------------

I would have LOVED that!!:teeth:

During our recent trip we had Room # 5077. The inner door faces the front entrance and is close to the elevator and far enough away from WCC that the noise wasn't much of a problem (we did hear it on the rare evenings we were there so if this is an issue request a room that doesn't have a entrance over looking the lobby).

The balcony view of this room was superb. Though at first I was disapointed not to see MK or the fireworks this ended very quickly. The view was straight out to the lake, over the brook, and a great view of the pool area.

By the way we had booked a woods view and was so happy to have this room!!!

Thank you to everyone on this board for all the information provided about the WL. When I got there it truely felt like I was at "home".

The information was invaluable since this was my first trip to WDW in 20 years. The trip was so memorable and all of the tips that eased our way made it so much better.

If I can be of help to anyone please let me know.

booked a standard view, was upgraded to a courtyard view. our room was on the 3rd floor, number 3019. We liked the location and the view ::yes:: I asked about upgrading to concierge, but nothing was available. The Flag Family spots were all filled, too :( other than that, we LOVED the Lodge as much as we did in 1999. That music at the pool is soooo relaxing! Our only complaint was that 3 nights wasn't enough....

Winnie Pooh Fan & Madge

So glad you both had great trips...I stopped by the Lodge Sunday morning to meet Mickey's Dreamers (Laura & Marco) I wish I had known you where there...I would have said Hi,

:bounce: Both of you received upgrades...to Inner Courtyard and Winnie Pooh Fan got to stay in one of the "Bear Face Rooms"
Congratulations.
