The New (Part 4) WL FAQ Thread...Just the Facts M'am!

I can't believe our turn is almost here. We will be leaving next Wednesday for our first stay at the Wilderness Lodge. While we are there they will be having two E-Nights. What are our transportation options back to the Lodge after E-Night? Thank you.

MAGICinMYHEART - Just wanted to pass along my condolences to Florida Cat's family and friends. I am not a regular on this thread, just dropped in occasionally, but I read several of his posts, and always enjoyed them. Having suffered a loss recently, my heart goes out to all Roy's loved ones.

This morning I called WDTC and paid off our trip $$ IN FULL $$
!!!!!!

It was such a great feeling when the CM said "Mrs.______you now have a $0 balance "

I realize that this is a bit late but I just found out yesterday about Roy's passing. I would like to convey our deepest sympathy from our family to Roy's. I have always felt that The Wilderness Lodge was one step in Heaven and it is reassuring to know that he is there for sure and out of the pain he had to endure. His spirit will live on here and in the hearts of each of us as we enter the Lodge or hear its music. Rest in Peace, friend.

I am so excited!!!!!!!! We are going to WL for the first time this Sept. I wasn't able to get code AZZ or even a post card rate for my dates. But yippeeeee they had the AP rate when I called today. Courtyard view here we come

Congrats! You're going to have a wonderful time! Be sure to ask for an 'inner' courtyard view! Or, you might get a room that overlooks the villa's and quiet pool. Thought the view is lovely, I don't think it is worth the courtyard price!

We were booked at AKL but we got a postcard in the mail and was able to stay at at Woods View for the same as a standard at AKL with the Sept promo Code. So I cancled AKL and took WL after I read the menu's there wasn't much of a choice with just the buffet and Mayra's has a very limited menu. WC looks like it offeres good food in my price range plus you can rent the bikes and the boats here also. Wl just seem to have more of what I was looking for. My Questions are

1. Does the boat that picks up for MK have an inside or do you have to sit outside? Even know it is pretty warm in Florida I can still get really cold outside when your on a boat.

2. Is there transportation to get to Chef Mickey's? Directly from the hotel?

3. Can you walk to the Hoop Dee Doo Revue?

4. We booked a woods view non-smoking which is one of the better rooms to have or floors? It doesn't have to be specific but a general area. I have never stayed at a Deluxe only a moderate so I'm sure all the rooms are good.

1- yes inside & outside

2 Small boat goes WL/CR/FW, runs 7am - 10 pm. Very easy.

3 - yes, but it's about a mile. Much easier to take sm boat from #2. (Or large MK boat, also stops at FW).

4 - I don't know this one.

This is what I request when I book a Woods View...North side of the Lodge with Magic Kingdom View 5th floor will have the best view if available...

PhillyPooh,

Almost missed your question...sorry...They will have the large Green Flag boat operating back to the Wilderness Lodge after EE shouldn't be as many people riding at this time of night, so you should have no problems.

Have a MAGICAL TRIP

PS If for some reason the Green Flag isn't running that late just ride the Monorail over to TTC and catch the bus to Wilderness Lodge. (WL and Ft Wilderness are the only resorts that have the bus service to TTC)

I leave in 3 days...and DD has 101 fever and an ear infection! It never fails! One of my DDs always manages to get sick right before our trips!

Your DD should be fine by the time you leave...But I know what you mean, my DN use to always get sick just before our trips (ear infections everytime) I always had to keep the medication on ice during our stays.

I got also received an E-Mail from Laura & Marco from Mexico looks like they are having a great time...you should have seen them last Sunday at WCC...Marco tried to film all the action but at times there was just to much going on.

Wishing your DD a speedy recovery and a MAGICAL TRIP for all of you.

AspiringCindy, sending tons of pixie dust your way for DD's quick recovery! One of our family always manages to get sick DURING the trip. Hope the rest of your family stays healthy too! We always manage to share our illnesses.

We're staying 5 nights at WL (woods view) 9/10-9/15 & then transferring to AKL for 4 nights. What room or bldg location shoulg I request at the WL to "maybe" get a view of MK or the fireworks ? Also, do they rent toys for the pool for toddlers (reasonable $ wise ?) & lastly do the rooms have coffee pots & if I have to request them from housekeeping will I get charged for coffee/suger/cream ?

On our trip in May we arrived at the boat dock a little early (already had a large crowd waiting for the boat to MK) and the large Green Flag wasn't in site yet, there was one of the smaller Blue Flag Resort boats at the dock, I asked the Captain where she was headed she said Ft. Wilderness I said "Oh never mind, we are headed to the CR." She said well if noone here wants to go to Ft. Wilderness I'll run you over...we waited a minute and she said lets go...the first large Green Flag boat of the morning was docking over at Ft. Wilderness as we pulled out...when we arrived at the CR the other boat still hadn't arrived at WL yet so we just took our time and walked over to the Magic Kingdom. We were though security & turnstile near the entrance before the Green Flag boat arrived just before the opening.

It worked great for us as my DN's hate waiting in line for anything. [/QUOTE]

Pandora: our rm 5052 had a Great view of wishes! It was a standard view rm in the North wing; maybe some WL vets can give you #'s of woods view rm's in that vacinity. We asked for a coffee maker: it was sent up promptly and I don't believe we were charged for the coffee or creamer/sugars (it only came with a 4 day supply, after that we were using our refillable mugs alot anyway so we didn't request more coffee supplies).

Also Pandora: I didn't see any renting of toys for pool use.
