Julie,

I am quite the WL Concierge Lounge Lizard!! All I can say is there isn't a bad view in the house when it comes to the main courtyard view. Take a look at the link in my signature for the Wilderness Lodge Photo Gallery. There are balcony view pictures that should give you some idea of views on the 7th floor.

Good luck and let us know if you need anything else!

Fred, thanks a bunch for clearing up my concierge questions. It really help quite a bit. Given what you said about the 7th floor having some the best views, can you recommend an area in the inner courtyard to request when making our reservations?

Thanks again, Julie:earsboy:

Are there bunk bed standard rooms? And if all the standard rooms are non-smoking and we book standard and request smoking does that mean upgrade? Free?

Thanks we are leaning toward the bunk beds. We don't smoke (I quit in Jan :Pinkbounc ) but were thinking if that meant upgrade why not, but then DH brought it to my attention of how much I fuss now about cig smell, that maybe that isn't such a good idea.:teeth:

DH here! question: Laura sometimes has some pain due to cervcal arthrosis.
She uses to sleep with a dedicated pillow.
Does anybody know if such (hard) pillow is available at WL?
Thanks

We got a message from Dreams Unlimited to highlight some aspects of our vacation. Among the rest ...

QUOTE
1) "Tastes of the Lodge" tour that allows you to sample some of the culinary delights found in the restaurants.
2) The Ladybug Release ... are other highlights of a visit to this resort
UNQUOTE

Do these exist in this season ?
Can anybody detail a little more ?

Thanks

Hi
I have never stayed at WL we are currently booked for AKL and I'm leaning more to WL it is the same price using the new discount code that came out we have a pool veiw at AKL and can get a woods view at WL for 132.00. We have no children it is just me and DH I was a little worried when I looked at the AKL menu's WL menu's look more my taste. My question is to get to the MK is it only by boat or can you take a bus?

Thanks KELLY

While the large Green Flag Launch is the fastest route to the Magic Kingdom , the Wilderness Lodge does have a bus it shares with Ft. Wilderness Campground that will take you to TTC where you can then board either the resort or express Monorail to the Magic Kingdom. We sometimes take this bus to TTC to catch the EPCOT Monorail.

PS: Upgrades are often given at check-in you may end up with a Courtyard View (pool) if you stay at the Wilderness Lodge :p

Hi,

Let me see if I can help with a few of your last minute questions...I believe they have the "Tastes of the Lodge" but you will have to ask at the Customer Service Desk when you arrive as to cost and schedule.

The Ladybug Release I don't think they still do this or it might be seasonal, last I heard they had a Ladybug release over at EPCOT but I'm not 100% sure. (sorry)

About the pillow they have several types of pillows at the Lodge so if for some reason there isn't a pillow that will work for Laura in the room you can always call Mousekeeping (housekeeping) for a special request, I'm sure they will be able to provide one that will be useful.

Only five days for you two, have a MAGICAL TRIP. Pixie Dust

I never see prices quoted anywhere for the jr. suites. Anyone know what these would be comparable to?

Shirleyb

Well I'm not sure what you mean? On page one of this thread I have all the room rates posted but the Deluxe (Jr. Suite) doesn't fit into to a comparable class with really any other room type. Cost wise it's close to a 1 Bedroom Villa but the one bedroom villa only sleeps 4 with one child under the age of 3, the 1 bedroom has a full kitchen and washer/dryer. The Jr Suite is close in price to two standard rooms but if you book two rooms you have two bathrooms so there is the dilemma. (With two rooms you would be able to apply the current discounts to both rooms but with a Deluxe/Jr Suite if you where able to get a code it would be for the one room) $199.00-$80.00=$119.00 X 2=$238.00+tax A Jr. Suite $390.00-$80.00=$310.00+tax.

DELUXE-TWO QUEEN BEDS & ONE SOFA BED (sleeps 6) The Deluxe Guest Room has a sitting area separated from the bedroom by french doors, additional television, refrigerator with ice machine, coffeemaker, and wet bar.

One-Bedroom Vacation Homes
Linens, towels, washer and dryer, master suite with a whirlpool tub, a full kitchen with major appliances, dishware, dishwashing supplies, and a start-up supply of bath soap, shampoo, laundry detergent, and coffee.

Room Type~~~~ Value Regular Peak Holiday
1 - Bedroom Villa $ 380 $ 425 $ 515 $ 560
Deluxe - Jr. Suite $ 390 $ 435 $ 495 $ 540

Hope this helps

MickeysDreamers -- No ladybug release anymore at WL, that I'm aware of. They do it at Epcot during the Flower and Garden Festival.

MagicInMyHeart -- It seems to me that the jr. suite should be compared to a wood's view room since that is the view of the jr suite you post at the beginning of this thread. I'm looking at value season where the discount could be 40% off. If that's the case, the jr. suite would be $234 and the woods view $131 X 2 = $262. Of course, if you have to figure in $25 per adult more than 2 for the jr. suite, that would make a difference. I have never seen the discount rate for the jr suite, so I'm guessing. Please let me know if I should calculate this differently since I have considered the jr suite as an option instead of 2 rooms. Thanks!

Fridye

The only reason I did the standard view was for the less expensive cost for six people. Like I said there really isn't a easy way to compare the Jr. Suite. It's not a villa but it's more than just a room. The views they say are all considered Woods View but there are some Jr. Suites that have an Inner Courtyard Views, some (the best) have a beautiful view of Bay Lake, a few just look out at the trees. So it's the luck of the room assigner.

The Jr. Suite was may favorite choice before I bought DVC. We loved being assigned one of the Suites at the end of the South Wing so we could watch the EWP everynight from the balcony and the view of Bay Lake.

It has been so long since I booked a Jr. Suite I'm not sure if they give 40% off on the suites or if it's just the max discounts for deluxe which have been running at $80.00.:confused3

Hi! I'm new to this thread with a few questions:

1. I'm thinking about getting an AP to be able to save on next trip. When does AP rate usually kick in, in July?

2. Can you use the AP rate when booking a one bedroom villa through CRO?

3. What would be a good view to request/or room number for the Villa's?

Thanks for your help!

Fridye,

During our in December (value season), I tried to apply a discount to the Jr. Suite and they told me that they don't offer any discounts on the Jr. Suite. Therefore, I would have to pay rack rate.

I'd be interested to know if this has changed.
