Hi ladies!! It is offical- we are on for Sat Dec 6 through Sun Dec 14, 2008 back at the Grand!! Thanks for all the help but we decided to take our chances with the parade taping and pop warner crowds instead of the Thanksgivng week crowds... Can't wait to get back!!

And add me to the list of those who were there during the bounceback time and never knew till I got home (not that I would go back for that heat again!! :sad2: )

THANK YOU!!!! THANK YOU!!!!! I will request that one... :woohoo: That was actually the building I was wanting to be in...

Thanks Tammi! If I don't get it, I won't be broken hearted. Too bad, at least. Right now, just being at the GF is enough. The rest is just icing on the cake. :cool1:

Cinderella Fan - please report back and let us king bed fans know if by some magic pixie dust you are able to get room 5431 or a similiarly nice one. :cloud9: If it's a really nice King room I'll be asking nicely for the room number to increase my odds of staying in an extra magical room. :wizard:

Angela, please please please post back after your GV stay and let me know how it compares service wise to RPC. :flower3: Have a wonderful fabulous time!!!! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 I requested Sago, too, but then people have reported icky views of the Conference Center and portapotties, lol!!! We don't check in til about 10 pm or so on a Friday nt, so I bet we'll be getting that potty view or rooftop service area view from Big Pine or Boca.:rotfl: :upsidedow :rotfl:

Denise, we also enjoy split stays. We have actually done GF/CR splits before. The luggage transfer is painless and it doesn't take much time or effort usually. We have never had a problem with it. We are still thinking of a GF/Epcot something split for Thanksgiving. I also wanted to say that first week in Feb that you are going is awesome. We went with my sister (just the girls) Feb 4-8 one year and stayed CR tower club. Checked in, got the room, went down and waited for the monorail and started our trip by riding in the very front.:thumbsup2 That's how it went the whole time. :goodvibes The crowds were nil & the waits were zilch. Perfect trip. I miss those Jan/Feb trip days!!! Take advantage of that time of year as long as possible for your WDW trips.

Happy planning,

Lives4Disney :)

Triplefigs...I was tempted, as there were RPC rooms available and I know that's rare, but I held firm, as we are adding this on to a 4 night Wonder cruise and I was able to snag the last available Cat 3 suite, so no RPC for me - I'll have to enjoy my concierge on the ship instead.
Enjoy! We absolutely love the cat 3's on the ship and the concierge service has always been amazing on board.

Will do! I called last night and spoke with CRO to put in my specific room request. Hopefully, we will get that room, or a similar one. ;) If we do, I will let you know... :thumbsup2

Channing - When I called CRO last night, they had the 1st night of our stay available at the GF with the AP rate, so now we are staying all 4 nights. BG did some checking, and found SL and RPC! I was excited, but then I reminded myself we will be at RPC in just a couple of months for our 1st anniversary. We are also doing the MK shoot while we are there, so that is adding $1300 to the total bill. This stay needs to be a little more budget friendly.

I do have high expectations for the GV, I mean this is the GF.:wizard: I will let you know as soon as we return. ;)

Wow, Angela, I am impressed!! You guys are good! :rotfl: I would have been sooo tempted I might have just hit the button and booked it - although I did see RPC available for all 10 nts of our Tgiving stay ONCE and it was over $8K. It just doesn't thrill me $8K's worth these days. LOL. That is great you are going back for your first anniversary & at such a gorgeous time of year there. WHat is the "MK shoot?" Just curious. :confused3

Have a wonderful time. Hope you get that room you requested!:wizard:

Channing :)

Channing, I might not be correct, but I think they're referring to the private photo shoot that brides can do early in the a.m. at the MK.

Hi All..just back yesterday from 5 days at SL oh how great! Amy took care of us when we checked in and was FABULOUS! we had a great room overlooking the pool on 3rd floor-mousekeeping was exceptional(in Nov at BC found that this was seriously lacking!)-
Rooms were full at SL due to Boca Chica is under rehab--SL is closing on Monday Oct 1 for approx 1 1/2 months--they hope to have it ready for Thanksgiving. Sounds like they are going to put refreshment area in a different location at the end of the building. That would be nice because our room was located right over balcony and could hear children screaming every morn..(I def will not miss crying overtired babies and children) even the girls at the desk commented that they needed some asprin from all the screaming going on in the lobby--LOL
Rented a cabana on our third day..was not impressed kind of a waste of money...cushions were filthy dirty and cabana area was dirty like no one had cleaned it for awhile. Oh well live and learn!
We did eat breakfast at 1900 Park Fare was really great! Bigger food serving area!
Bounceback offer was displayed on our table in our room--have to book before checking out (we did not)
All in all it was the best out of all of our trips to Disney (all 15 of them!) Now I have to save to go again I have nothing to look forward to!
Any questions let me know! Back to laundry--I sent my boys to school and they called me Cruella DeVille this morn! They are mad because I took an extra day off--but I have to clean and do laundry and oh yea update disboards!

I am trying to decide with I want to choose for my next trip.

Theme Park View -$2,913.82

Outer Lodge - Standard Room - Club Level -$2,520.00

There is a very small price difference, but what I was wondering was the club level does have a theme park view or not. This I really enjoyed watching Wishes fireworks from the belcony.

Thanks
Sarah

tinklvr64, I see that the SL lounge will be moved. I gather from your comments that it's a good thing they are moving it. Can you be a little more specific about that, as this Nov. will be my first stay there. (of course, if SL is still under rehab, I might have to be moved to RPC...awwww heck!! LOL!!)

Sarah,

The Sugar Loaf building (outer lodge, club level) has marina and garden/courtyard view rooms. None of these rooms have a direct view of the MK, so if you want an obstructed view of Wishes, you won't find it there.

However, Tammi posted the below just a few pages back - there might be a chance to see some of the upper fireworks from certain marina-fronting rooms:

I haven't found any area's of SL to avoid, but we usually try to get one of the very few rooms that offer a fireworks view. Specifically 6313 and 6315 are good locations overlooking the marina. You can't see the castle, but as I mentioned, there is a good chance you can catch some of Wishes from your balcony. Another little known secret about SL are the 3 lodge tower rooms they have available by request. All overlook the garden and the top floor doesn't have a balcony. It's nice if you need the extra space though.

You could always just step outside SL to the marina in front of Gasparilla's, and watch from there, if you would prefer the concierge service over the view (I know I probably would!). Or, if you wanted the best of both worlds (and don't mind coughing up more $$), there are rooms in RPC in the main building that have perfect castle views, with the ability to see Wishes.

Uggg! So my stay at SL is October 26-Nov 1??? Any ideas what will happen?? Please, oh, please an upgrade to RPC!!!:)

I believe those on this board that saw the GF go through the last rehab have reported that they usually just move lodge concierge to another building temporarily. I would e-mail IPO, and see what their contingency plan is if SL is indeed going to be closed those dates. Good luck! :wizard:

How easy is it to move from a GV room to the RPC? We have the first 7 nights in a GV room and the last night we upgraded to RPC. How early can we check out/ in and use the lounge?

I have been emailing back and forth with Calvin today and in my last responce I asked about the closure...I will let everyone know what he says...

Also, I was wondering if anyone has had a good experience with the cabanas? I was thinking of doing it on Sunday because my husband could still watch his football and we can swim...

We had a cabana last month and enjoyed it. The personal A/C unit almost made it worth it just by itself!! There were plenty of towels, plenty of drinks, our cabana attendant was attentive without being annoying. I would do it again in a heartbeat!

What should I ask as far as room requests with IPO for RPC? Which floor is the lounge? Which floor has MK views? If not MK view, which one would be best for monorail view and/or overall view? I am going to email IPO soon.

Does Janet still have her RPC pics? Any other RPC pics of the lounge, rooms, views? I am so excited!

BTW, my kids have watched the Great Hotels GF episode 10 times in the last 3 days!

I have a Garden View booked at GF. Which room should I request and when? I need to be pretty close to transportation.
Thanks
