Nope. You have a lovely courtyard view from the lounge. You can see the Poly, some lagoon out that way, and top of CR.
DS will love that view! I bet the monorail veiw is great coming from the Poly to the GF. Can you see the Wedding Pavilion? DD wants to see some brides and Cinderella's coach.

This is what he said about the rehab....

The Grand Floridian Resort is going thur a rehab. The Sugar Loaf building will be going down on 9/30/07 and will be back up on 10/26/07. So you should have all brand new rooms (and a new lobby - lounge area). IF the schedule has some unforeseen delays, you will be notified by our back office staff.

How often do they run on schedule:confused: I will just have to wait and see, I guess!

I am watching and waiting, too, but with my stay beginning on Nov. 25, I guess it will be completed (and therefore NO surprise upgrade to RPC..:sad2: ) Of course, I can always sweetly ask for one!!

Triplefigs, I may be confused, but I don't recall ever seeing the Poly or monorail from the RPC lounge. The only times we've had a Poly or Wedding Pavilion view, are when our rooms overlooked the beach area :confused3 . I love this particular link, because you can get a really good idea of what your view is going to be.

I can't wait to see what they do with Sugar Loaf. Is lodge concierge going to be temporarily moved into another building? That's what they did a few years ago during the last rehab.

Denise -- the room I was telling you about that Marti and I stayed in during my May business trip did have that great view of the pavilion, and the coach parks to wait for brides on that side, so it should be right under the balconey. I was never in the room long enough to see one, though! ;)

Thanks for the clarification, Tammi and Marci. I'm sure we are going to love whatever we get!

On the day we transfer our luggage from the CR and check-in to the GF (which will be early- ie 7-8am), can we use the lounge immediately? Just wondering if the food offerings would be enough to count as breakfast before heading to the MK for the day. I have an extra ADR made that am, and I could cancel it and save the credit (we are on the DDP for the CR part). We're debating whether to add it for the GF or just pay OOP.

Yes you can. I've always thought that the RPC food offerings were pretty generous. Unless you want something hot, you should be fine. My family typically starts their day with cereal, bagels, yogurt and fruit, so we've always skipped breakfast ADR's.

You can see the Poly if you are sitting at the smaller tables that seat 2 with the wicker chairs (the ones kind of over the 3rd floor balcony). You can also see Spaceship Earth and the S/D from there. Sometimes we've seen Illuminations from the lounge.

I did hear SL is getting a new lounge. That should help with all the recent over crowding/lack of seating issues.....hopefully.

That sounds like him. I told them to move to the WL, but it wouldn't be until the last night or so, and she was afriad that it wouldnt be enough time to really worry with moving.

Hopefully, they are having a great time - even though they are "stuck" riding the buses. ;)

we do this. we never eat breakfast out anywhere I feel like its a waste of money or credits. The Breakfast at the lounges is alsways good. They had so many options at the GF and BWI it was crazy.

Thanks Channing. We usually don't get a chance to sit at those tables for 2 ;) . I just thought I remembered from our having the turret suite room on that corner, that it blocked any of the beach view. Next year is our 25th anniversary, so DH and I talked about a Disney cruise and World trip. I'm sure the kids will end up with us (well at least 2 of them, our oldest has moved away for work), but that's okay with me. Even if it's only in the earliest planning stages, it's nice to be thinking about staying there and seeing all the changes.

Tammi, those are my favorite tables. :goodvibes DS & DH are usually super pokey in the morning ( or sometimes they really surprise us and get up very early and GO), so it's me and my girls at those tables.

OK, we share an anniversary - I forgot - Hope you had a great one!

Maybe we will see ya there, lol!!! Next year is our 20th....My wheels have already been turning, too.

Channing :)

Just an update: I upgrade our GF stay to RPC on an AP rate. SL wasn't available anymore for our dates:guilty: , but the AP rate is a nice bonus. :thumbsup2

I'm so excited now! A fresh room and breakfast in the mornings! We leave in 28 days!:dance3:

Thank You very much.

What are the real benifits of concierge service?

Sarah

I'm sure some of our resident experts can jump in, but basically, concierge/club level service provides you with access to the IPO (Itinerary Planning Office) that can assist you with ADRs, plans, etc. before your trip. Once you're on property, you will be housed in a certain section of the resort (at the GF, in certain buildings - Main and SL), have access to the club level lounge which has food/drink offerings throughout the day, and there are club level CM's on hand to assist you with further planning/executing your trip.

I'm admittedly not a huge "view" person, so if concierge access was cheaper than a particular view, I'd likely prefer having that, for the free food/drinks alone!

Lindsay, thanks so much for all the info! I truly appreciate it. I hope you have such a wonderful trip in 2 months. And I would love it if you'd take tons of pictures. Today, I found the email you sent me a while back with all your MNSSHP. You made me smile!

:goodvibes

I hope you guys have a great trip, too - you definitely have something to look forward to!

(BTW - we'll be pulling for 'Bama this weekend against FSU - just don't tell my in-laws, who are big FSU fans. :ssst: You guys have my all-time favorite Longhorn football player as your QB coach now, so that gives us an added incentive to pull for you! ;) )

tinklvr64: You mentioned that they have started on the Boca Chica rehab- carpet, furniture, ect. Does anyone know how much is finished already and when it is scheduled to be done??

When we left on Monday--it looked like all of the rooms facing the pool were done I dont know about the other side facing the marina.
