If you are worried about printing your boarding passes for Southwest, you can still check in online as though you are going to print them and instead of printing them at home, just reprint them at the airport when you are checking your luggage. You will still have whatever boarding group you were in when you checked in online. I do this a lot when I need to check in for Southwest but don't have a printer handy.

well I am flying jetblue so but thanks for the tip!

I called HP and I figured it out, they are sending me a check
I went and got a printer this a.m.

I have just changed my ressie from BWV's to GF theme park view room.

Can any of you give me suggestions as to what building & floor/view I should request? I would love to have a castle view.

This is our very 1st time ever staying at GF- I'm so excited!

THANKS!

Well if you booked a theme park view room, you should have a view of the castle. If you arrive and you don't I would probably ask to switch rooms.

From what I understood, theme park view could be either the castle or space mountain. It could be even more then that! Who knows??? :confused3

hi all, speaking of octagonal rooms in the main bldg - does anyone know if they all come with king beds or do some have 2 queens? thanks in advance
Francie, the octagonal rooms fall under the classification of "honeymoon suites", so they do all have king beds. The regular deluxe rooms offer 2 queens and a little more square footage than a standard room.

Unfortunately, "theme park view" doesn't necessarily mean castle. It could be a view of Space Mountain. There's just no guarantee that it will be specifically the castle. To up the odds a bit, I would request a room in either Sago Cay or Conch Key. They both have dead on views of the castle, with Conch Key having a small block of rooms that would be partial views. I think it was Janet2K who had a corner room on the top floor of Conch Key. She had some extra space and two balconies. The main balcony did have a view of the castle through the trees, but the second smaller balcony had a great view. The only drawback, is that the GF is currently undergoing rehab, so it depends on when you're going, which buildings will be available.

So Tammi-

Are you saying that Sago Cay probably has the more desirable Castle views over Conch Key? If so, I'll request Sago, top floor castle view first and then Conch key top floor castle view as a secondary request.

Also- is there a map that shows the resort in refrence to the park?

Both buildings face the same direction, it's just that there is a large pine tree (?) that would shade probably about 8 of the rooms in Conch Key. Sago Cay doesn't have any trees in front of it.

Here's a cool one, http://local.live.com/default.aspx?cp=28.411444|-81.586792&style=h&lvl=15&v=1 . Center the Magic Kingdom on the screen (use your mouse and hold it down to drag the screen around) and slowly zoom in on it. You'll probably notice the street sign for Floridan Way. The GF is on this road, slightly down from the MK and a little to the left. You can play with the zoom until you get it in your screen. When you're looking right over the GF, you'll notice the boat dock. The building to the left is Conch Key. If you look closely, you can even see the tree in the left corner of the building that I was talking about. Across the marina, is Sago Cay. As you can see, both are looking right directly at the MK and from these rooms, you'll see the top 1/2 to 2/3rd of the castle poking up out of the trees. Hope that helps you get your bearings.

Tammi- do you happen to know the decor in the rooms at Sago and Conch?

karebear, I think it's anybody's guess at this point. Sago Cay is currently undergoing room rehabs and until someone is able to get in and take some pictures, we won't know if they've gone to a general theme or stayed with the assorted style.

Conch Key has the Alice theme...or at least it did. As Tammi said, who knows what the new theme or themes will be.

We've had the same thirs floor room in Conch Key three times. It is in about the center of the building and the view is clear and wonderful.

Hmmmmm....... Iwonder if those rooms in Sago will be done by the time we get there? It'd be so great to have a brand new room wouldn't it??

Tammi- GREAT LINK for the resort! It really leaves nothing to the imagination. And yes... I could see the pine tree you were talking about!

BCV- We own at BCV too- I assume that's why you have that name??? I thought I had my mind made up as to which building to request, but not so sure now. In the room you always seem to get, what is the view?

Tammi~Thanks for the link to the cool map! My kids and I had a blast playing with it! They just wanted to check out the pools though! I really hope we get Sago or Conch for our MK view. Of course, any will probably be fine!

karebear1, the view from the room we've had is spectacular. Dead onto the MK. You can see the castle and you're close enough that you can see people walking on the monorail ramps. It is a room with a rollin shower which is why we've had it 3 times. There supposedly aren't that many accessible rooms at the GF at all so whenever we've booked, we've ot had a choice of category. Although one of those times we were booked for most nights in gardenview and the first night in lagoonview (before the new categories). We were very lucky that we were switched to that room the entire time.

Yes, we own at BCV. I actually started posting on the DIS just as sales opened for BCV and was so excited that I used it in my name. I would choose differently if I were to do it over again.;) But sales opened on 2/3 of 2002 and we bought that morning. Plus we were a family of 2 and 3 so it refers to that too. Don't you love BCV?

We currently have a Landscape view room at GF for mid July. Should we try and upgrade to a lagoon view? Is the lagoon view worth the upgrade? Just wondering if we'll be disappointed. We had Savannah view at AKL, but now we're AKL refugee staying at GF. I'm not complaining about the move to GF, just wondering about the view.

rb75, it is such a personal thing but I don't think I would pay the difference between gardenview and lagoonview. Personally, I love the gardenview rooms that face the marina so that's the only request I would make. But that's just me.

I would stick w/ the garden view. You will LOVE the GF. If you've never been, you will be blown away just being there :cloud9: You can always book Lagoon View or Theme Park View next time:banana:

The GF is gorgeous and you will love it no matter what room you end up in. (To be honest, though, I just upgraded from Garden View to a Honeymoon Club level Room:idea: )

Have a great time!:cool1:

We have a room in the GF RPC booked for our 5th wedding anniversary, but due to a few huge disappointments from the IPO, we're thinking about changing our anniversary plans. I just really don't feel like Disney (and especially the GF IPO) values our business, and I don't know why we would drop $4K on a short vacation that's going to end up being nothing special, when I want our 5th anniversary to be a big, huge deal. We got married at WDW, and anniversary at the GF every year, so this is a big step for us.

So I'm coming to you all for suggestions. I want a similar quality experience, as far as luxury hotel, great restaurant(s), etc. But in a different locale, preferably East Coast, since my husband's company has a pretty bad vacation package and we only have 5 days to play with.

Any suggestions for other vacations that have rivalled or surpassed the quality of the GF concierge level? We don't want NYC - we used to live there. We don't want anywhere in the Orlando area - that's where we live now. And, as I said, we'd prefer the East Coast, or maybe the East Coast of Canada. Our anniversary is August, so, since it's not to be WDW, we'd prefer, but don't require, something cooler.

Thoughts/ideas/suggestions appreciated!

Cheers!
Heather W
