Hi all! My family and I will be at the Contemporary for the first November 29 -December 6. My little ones are excited to b staying where the monorail runs through! lol We are staying in the tower with an MK view. Trip is all paid, but still hoping for some type of discount code.
I really enjoy reading this thread. We have stayed at the BWI/BWV, BCV, Grand Floridian, Poly and CBR. We love the BWI/BWV, BCV, and Poly! We are not crazy about the GF and CBR. We are hoping to add CR as one of the ones we love!

Can anyone tell me if there are any kids activities during the day at the pool?
Thanks!!
Chris
I was just at the Contemporary, and there were lots of little activities scheduled for the kids by the pool during the day (but I can't remember what!). They also had movies on the beach on a big inflatable screen every evening. And, on one particularly rainy day, the lifeguards took the kids to the lobby (where the cartoon TV is) to play boardgames.

when we stayed at WL Villas last years I saw a DISer that put a notepad on their room door for other DISsers to sign.. does anyone know if it's ok to do that at CR too?

The day you arrive is the day we start to feel the WDW blues :worried: , because we know the next day we are returning home! lol

Here's a sample from a couple of weeks ago:

I hope you and your family have a great time staying there and I am sure your going to love the Magic Kingdom View.

We stayed at the CR last week and were in the garden wing. I did not like it at all. The inside of the room was very nice but the location was horrible. We were so far away from everything and it took forever to get to the monorail or the grab and go food area. If we stay there again, we will definitely have to stay in a tower room.

Customer service: Our first day there, we had lunch at the grab and go (whose choices were pretty limited  ) and then took the monorail to the MK. When we got to the bag check area, I realized I didn't have my wallet! I knew I had it at the grab and go 30 minutes ago... I went back to the CR and went to the grab and go and talked to a very nice woman who worked there. She remembered me and helped me look all around for my wallet but we didn't find it. The woman working at the DVC tale there suggested I go to the concierge and ask. So I went down there and said I was missing my wallet and a worker walking by said he had it! I guess a worker near the monorail found it and just then, my DH called me and the worker answered my phone (which was in my wallet -- it was more like a big change purse than a wallet) and my DH told him we were staying at the CR so they took it to the concierge. I had my wallet, with all of its contents intact, 30 mins after losing it.

The next day, I was at the grab and go and told the worker that I had found my wallet and she said she was so glad. She had gone through all the trashcans looking for it the day before and paryed I would find it. She was very nice. It was a good experience.

Also, the store there is very big and has a nice selection of things to choose from. Lots of clothes for the whole family.

I am sorry you did not like the Garden Wing room, however at least if you ever stay at the Contemporary you will try a room in the Tower. Also it's great that you were able to find your wallet.

We just got back yesterday, we had an awesome time!!! We had a Magic Kingdom view Room 4545. The rooms were really nice my brother went with us and had a room with a kingsize bed on the 11th floor also a Magic Kingdom view. We had a few maid service issues but nothing too bad (All I can say is check your duvet cover!! ). I love the Magic Kingdom so this hotel was perfect for us :) You can walk over in less than 10 minutes and take the monorail back CR is the first stop :thumbsup2 We didn't eat at the Wave but did eat at the California Grill for my sons birthday and as always it was really good. We were there during wishes which is always a plus. The Grab and Go was just ok, not many selections but we did eat there two times. We had snacks/drinks that we brought with us in our room which helped.

My daughter and husband did the parasailing at the Contemporary and loved it.
My son and I rented a Sea Raycer which was fun, but a 1/2 hour was enough. It got really hot out on the water and it was pretty crowded with other boaters.
Also my brother and daughter did the Segway tour at Epcot, they loved it alot and recommend it highly.
To anyone going to stay at the Contemporary I don't think you'll regret it :thumbsup2

Thanks for your great review. :thumbsup2

Thanks for all the recent reviews...

We will be at CR in one month :woohoo: and I was wondering if there is a store there that has the bath products for sale. I know there is a store at the GF & can make that monorail trip if necessary but I wondered if the CR has one.

Also, several of you have mentioned the Grab & Go, what have you ordered that you did/didn't like? I know we will be eating here some b/c we haven't made all that many ADR's (one to b'fast at the Wave & one to Chef Mickey's). Anybody tried room service?

Thanks!

I don't remember seeing bath products for sale in any of their stores.

The pizza isn't as bad as it looks, and the hot dog wasn't bad either at the Grab and Go.

The bath products like the H20 are in BVG now.
