Because the Contemporary is a very popular Resort due to it's location to the Magic Kingdom and because of convention groups I would say switch your reservation now, so this way you don't have to worry about it being sold out.We are planning to stay at CR this January (24-31st) but have not booked room yet - we currently have RO at AllstarMo but have decided to splurge and go with a Monorail resort (we have a 3 year old who LOVES MK). Anyway should we go ahead and book our room at CR or can we wait a bit and see if any discount or codes come up (still decideing between Poly and CR but are really leaning toward CR). We just want the basic (cheapest) room. Will these book up early?
When I went to WL last September, the DME bus stopped at Poly, GF, WL, and then it was going to the CR. I would say it would be tight.
I'm posting this from my room right now. I figured out how to upload pictures from a memory card to the computer. It was stated before that it couldn't be done (can't remember where sorry). I have an SD USB card reader that I plugged into the back of the computer. I have been able to email pictures and upload them to my blog photo album. Sites like photobucket are blocked though. To see my online album, including photos of the Contemporary go to http://bridgettebuntin.typepad.com/photos/disney_world/
If your having trouble getting a room this far in advance I would say it has to do with a convention group. So my advice is keep trying because eventually a room will become available.
I am looking ahead to Dec. 2009, when I'd like to do both the Candlelight Processional and MVMCP during our stay.
Do you make reservations (or in the case of MVMCP, buy tickets) at the same time as other ADR's -- 180 days in advance? I'm trying to figure out the best way to schedule TS meals around those two special events!
We saw Meet the Robinsons Thurs. night out by the pool. QUOTE]
We will be at CR in one week! This is our first stay there. We thought we would start our vacation with a few days "decompressing" by the pool etc. Do they have outdoor movies every night? Sounds like some extra magic that I wasn't expecting.
Any info on this is appreciated.
When you arrive, there will be a list of daily activities in the room that will tell you various things to do (I think they were all by the pool) and each night there is a different movie showing. We left on Aug. 1 so didn't see the activities for Aug. but as for July, movies also included Finding Nemo, Enchanted and I can't remember the others. Definitely something to look forward to when you are there.
Also, I think it is a good idea to relax when you first get there, as you have planned. My kids were funny...they assumed b/c we were so close to the MK that they could 'ride the rides' on the day we arrived. They really enjoyed just riding the monorail. I would also recommend the arcade & taking a boat ride over to Wilderness Lodge. Tip for the summer months that I learned the hard way...it will rain every day and your rain gear, umbrellas, ponchos, etc. will not protect you from the rain if they are IN THE ROOM. (You would think I would have learned this after the first soaking!)![]()
Good luck and if you were wondering convention groups need to book a year out so they can have enough rooms blocked off. Once they realize who won't be going those rooms get cancelled and go back into the Disney reservation system.Thanks... I didn't realize that a convention would book almost a year and a half out. I will keep an eye on it...
All the rooms on the 12th floor are Atrium Club Level rooms.I am confused.I booked a package for next July this morning for the Contemporary and they booked me on a standard Atrium club room.He asked if I had any requests and said no,but I just got off the phone because I had called back to make sure I requested 2 queeen beds instead of a king because my boys dont like sleeping together and I asked if I could request a magic kingdom view or if that was something extra I had to pay for and he looked it up and came back with something called theme park view, atrium level-BUT it came pack about 50 dollars cheaper for the 4 nights we are booked. What am I missing???Are there rooms on the atrium club floor that do not have concierge access???I just want to make sure I know what I am getting.Thanks.

Those photos look great so thanks for posting them.Hello! I stayed in the Garden Wing Hospitality Suite last week and decided to upload all the photos I took. This is from room 5103. This is the first room when you enter the South Garden Wing from the entrance by the pool. It has four doors to it.
Hopefully this post will be added to the table of contents.

Here are some pictures of the new DVC at CR from the water while we were in the parasailing boat. I hadn't seen any from this vantage point so I thought I'd post these. Also, I'm posting a couple from the new CS construction area since CR Resort Fan 4 Life asked previously about how the area was coming along ...![]()
