We are going to stay at the Contemporary in November, we decided this week we wanted to upgrade to concierge, but none are available. Any one have any advice a strategy besides calling the reservation line every day?

You can also check the Walt Disney World website to see if a Club Level room becomes available. If that does not work when you check-in ask the Cast Member if any Club Level rooms are available, so you can upgrade at that time. So good luck and I hope you are able to get a room up there.

Ugh..just tried to add a day onto our New Years trip with no luck.

I just need the night of Jan 4th..I am SO wishin I would have gone with my gut and booked it from the get-go!

I..of course will keep trying for a cancellation. The CM while encouraging, sounded doubtful though. She said she was really surprised that we got the Tower/Theme Park view at all..so I guess I did that much right!

I cannot imagine having a Tower room on NYE! That will be great!!!

BUT..we are trying to decide exactly what to do. I have a 16 year old DD who wants to be in the middle of the action at Epcot on NYE, so I'm thinking we may compromise and watch the MK fireworks from the room on the 30th.

Lucky for us they started doing a New Years Eve-Eve celebration!

I cannot imagine having a Tower room on NYE! That will be great!!!

We have had the Magic Kingdom View on New Years Eve and it was an amazing experience watching the fireworks they had that night from our room.

I called WDW - they said all the Tower and Tower pool (new 3rd pool at CR) will be completed by the end of 2009.
So 2010 will be a great year to stay at CR !

OOH!!! I am new to the thread (and the CR in general) so I never even knew this was happening!!

We just booked the CR for 11/28-12/6 in 2009 so I wonder if it will be done by then...

Thought I would give a small update...it does pay to keep calling! If you remember my original posting, we had booked a Tower Bay Lake View, and were unable to get an MK view room. The only MK view rooms available were Atrium Club with no AAA discounts available.

We were also unable to get a AAA discount on the bay lake room we had reserved. This has been true all week since AAA rates were released for 2009.

This morning I called and still no regular MK view rooms available, and still no AAA discounts for our bay lake view room. BUT, they had MK view Atrium Club available WITH AAA discount!

I booked it...it's still a bit more then we wanted to spend, but it's not that much more then our bay lake room which we couldn't get a AAA discount on. I'll keep checking the Disney website to see if regular MK views open up as time goes by, but at least with what we have I won't feel the need to call them every morning

I thought that you could not get a guaranteed MK Atrium Vew??? That is why I booked a Tower MKV, since that is what is the most important to us, but we really want Atrium Club also.

You can do that starting in 2009, because they now list the Atrium Club Theme Park View for next years rates. For anyone who has reservations there for 2008 the Magic Kingdom View still needs to be requested.

Speaking of Bay Lake Tower and other updates, again, Jack Spence of AllEars has posted another update of Bay Lake Tower and some pics of Chef Mickey's Express (and the T-Rex restaurant in DTD). I really like how he does his blogs, loads of pics and info (all of the AllEars bloggers really)

Yes there is a computer in every room and when you arrive it should be on the Online Concierge screen, so from there you can click for the internet access.

I have only barely scratched the surface in this thread, but my MIL wants to know how big the in-room coffeepots are? Are they 2 or 4 or more cups? Also, does it have a timer to preset it to brew in the morning?

Corey wants to know if the internet is free as long as you do not want wireless?

Corey wants to know if the internet is free as long as you do not want wireless?

The internet on the in room computers is 100% free, so you don't need wireless unless you want it. Of course the one draw back might be some websites are blocked. Obviously some are for a good reason, however I was surprised that Youtube and Wikipedia were blocked.
