does anyone know if the 14th floor king bed rooms look roughly the same as this? i'm trying to decide whether or not to change to the CR from the poly, but i like the look of the new rooms, and if the king bed rooms look like this, thats my decision made to stay at the poly.
I would assume that all the Standard rooms on the 14th floor look like that.

We're staying at the CR this month. We are so excited!

We want to order a chocolate monorail.
How far in advance should we order the chocolate monorail? What number do we call?
Here is a quote from the private dining menu when it comes to ordering items like the Chocolate Monorail.

As these items are prepared-to-order, some may require 24 hours advance notice.

Thanks for the information. And now another question what is the difference between the Garden -Standard and Garden- Garden view? Worth the price difference or not?

If we do switch I would like to order the Monorail too! It is my husband's favorite "ride"!! Do you call the hotel directly?

I believe a Standard View is of the convention center and a Garden Wing View is going to be of Bay Lake. If you were to change Resorts just call CRO and they will do that for you.

If we call to book Garden Wing is there a particular section request we should ask for?

And by looking at the pictures, are those down comforters on the beds? I have allergies so if they are do they have other options?

Can someone who has stayed at the CR recently, or is there now, answer these questions:

Are they selling refillable mugs at the Tempo Grab & Go?

Are they piping the music to Wishes through the TV again?

Thanks in advance for your help.

:moped:

Yes the mugs are being sold at the Tempo Grab & Go.

Also others have posted that the music for Wishes is being played on channel 18 or 19.

What is the Magical express route from MCO to The CR..how many stops and what resorts? What would be the total time? I am landing at 12:00 noon and we have an ADR @ 1:45pm at the Wave for lunch..just trying to see if we will make it. :)

I don't think you would be able to make it. Based on what I have read about this topic the routes for the Magical Express buses are never the same. For example I just read a thread on the Transportation board where someone said before arriving to the Contemporary the bus stopped at the Wilderness Lodge, Grand Floridian and Polynesian. So it's hard to say what the route will be when you take Magical Express.

I really don't see any way that is doable. you probably won't be walking off the plane untill 12:10 (earliest) then by the time you get to ME check in it will be 12:30 (earliest). then if there is a line, or no bus heading to CR you have to include that wait(who knows how long) and then an hour to get to WDW, then if there are stops... just too many factors to get a good estimate. but I think that the time you allowed is too short

Every time I've stayed at the CR and used magical express, the route has been Poly, Grand Flo., Wilderness Lodge, and CR last. Depending on the number of people on the bus and the amount of luggage that has to be unloaded, it can take 30 to 45 minutes to finally make it over to the CR. Several times I've exited the bus at the Poly and taken the monorail over to the CR. You're going to be cutting it close.

Hello! We are back home from our wonderful stay at the CR! Someone asked about the chocolate monorail...we were not going to order one but I wanted to do something extra for the kids & DH so I ordered on the computer in the room at approx. 3pm one day & it arrived 5pm the next. So, you do need 24 hours & you do have the option of ordering it from the room when you get there.

I asked about CM Express & the CM told me "they have not released that information yet". I can say that quite a bit of progress was made while we were there but I say there is a long way to go for it to be ready by the previously posted date of Aug. 14th (I think that's what I read). Basically, it is just a shell now. I took some pictures & will try to post if I can remember how ;) We did not have trouble w/ the construction noise until our last day...jack hammers & all, it was pretty loud. I noticed there were a couple little kids in Chef Mickey's w/ their ears covered while waiting to be seated. We had a dinner reservation there & since construction ends before 5, we did not have a problem.

The Wave was really nice. The food was very good, and I am not a big breakfast eater. I would definitely think that anyone could walk in w/o ADR's at this point (there were only about 5 other tables full when we were there).

Being that we only toured MK this time, we were able to enjoy the resort alot. (And at those prices, I think you should!) We saw Meet the Robinsons Thurs. night out by the pool. My kids loved this. We made a pit stop by the grocery store via town car on the way to CR & I bought bread & sandwich meat for a couple meals & we ate sandwiches while watching the movie. That was really enjoyable.

Yesterday we were able to get a late check out so after dropping some of my money in the nice gift shop (both our kids have birthdays coming up so I got the monorail & Contemporary model sent to our house), we took the boat over to the Wilderness Lodge. This is a really nice resort & we stopped at the food court for lunch.

All in all, I say CR was a wonderful experience. The only 'con' I would say is the fact that every day there were room service trays that stayed out too long, in my opinion, like all day. I called about this once, but that was the only day. Other than that, it was great.

For those of you worried about not having Chef Mickey's Express ready, remember that you can take advantage of the food courts of other resorts, like we did. We ate at the Poly & WL & enjoyed both of them...so that's always an option.

Thanks for posting your review and it's that you and your family enjoyed staying at the Contemporary. Also thanks for finding out whatever information you could about Chef Mickey's Express.

Ok, So I have a question. When trying to get a price quote, we want to stay in the tower with the Magic Kingdom view, do they have these as standard rooms and you just have to request???

Thanks in advance!

Tower Theme Park View is a separate category that you pay more for, as opposed to Tower Bay Lake View. So if you pay for it, you'll definitely get your MK view! :thumbsup2

I apologize if this has already been posted.

I just made a ressie for January 2009 and wanted to book tower mk view. All they had left though was atrium club mk view. I had read that views were not guaranteed on the club level so I asked and the lady said it was guaranteed to be a mk view. The nightly rate is $570 before tax. Last year's rate for this type of room was $515. Maybe they have the two views classified now with the mk view being higher?
