I have not seen any signs about hight restriction for the water slide and I have seen kids around your daughters age going on it. Although I guess the best thing you can do is ask the lifeguards and they can say if she should go on it or not.

To follow up on this question - our girl is going to be 2 1/2 when we visit and I was hoping she could go down the slide with either myself or my wife. Does anyone know if they allow a little one to ride w/ mom or dad - or do they have to be old enough to go down the slide themselves?

I'm pretty sure that there are NO water slides on property where an adult can accompany a child.

They do have lifevests for toddlers, so if your daughter is brave enough to go down, they will allow you to wait NEAR the bottom of the slide, but really, unless she is a good swimmer with a vest on (able to paddle, deal with being "underwater" briefly...i.e. understand the concept of holding her breath, etc), I would not send her down a slide.

If you decide to go to the water parks, Blizzard Beach has a toddler area with SMALL water slides that the kids can go down alone. They are really small...like maybe 5-10 feet long. You are allowed to "catch" them at the ends of those slides. The entire area is very toddler friendly at Blizzard Beach. You might want to try going there instead. The slide at Contemporary is a bit intimidating for a 2 1/2 year old, IMO.

Nope, the ceiling fans were removed during the last room rehab.

Bummer...I like some air circulation when I sleep and I am NOT packing a fan. Wonder what the reasoning behind removing ceiling fans was? :confused3 That makes the Contemporary the only deluxe resort without them...

Well, the A/C better work REALLY well. That's all I have to say about that.

According to the link, they are only $110 for a full day, or $60 for half a day. :confused3

I'm going to assume that the owner(s) of that site haven't learned of the new prices yet.

I also know that at Typhoon Lagoon they have some of those raft slide things where 2 people can go down. The slides there are probably a little over the top for a little child, but they are there. But those BB slides sound like the perfect idea though!

thanks for the info. I'll make sure my daughter knows how to hold her breath underwater by the end of the summer so she'll be good to go by november!

thanks, brergnat. oh well, at least we know not to hype the waterslide when talking about the pool!

hi, looking at gmi3804's pics, does anyone know what the building is to the left of the pool that looks like it has a glass window ceiling with two white "bars/covers" in a cross pattern on top? tia

That would be where the Sand Bar and Sammy Duvall's Watersport Center is located.

Hello! I just booked online for a Magic Kingdom View-Atrium Club room. I just checked my reservation online and it says "2 bedroom Villa". What does this mean? I am very excited to say at the Contemporary! It will be our first stay here! We are scheduled to stay November 6-13.

Originally when my family and I had that reservation for this August when I looked it up on the WDW website it also said 2 Bedroom Villa. However when I called CRO the Cast Member said her computer showed a reservation for a Magic Kingdom View-Atrium Club room, so I would not worry. Also we had made that reservation online and I guess when doing it online something is messed up when viewing your reservation after it's completed, because it's a brand new booking category.

Thank you for your quick response! I am looking forward to reading this thread to get more information on the Contemporary!

Off to our first visit to the CR. We have been faithful to the Poly but decided to give the CR a try this time (save money ;))

I won't have a computer so I can't post while there but I will report back next week. I have appreciated all the valuable advice on this thread!

Have to see that 0 days on my tracker! :cool1:

Have a great time and I can't to hear how you enjoyed staying there.

Hi everyone!
I *think* I will be staying at CR in Dec. (2010), so I have a while to go yet. But I was wondering about the rooms. In the garden part...is that whole building that's away from the monorail considered the "garden" building? And are there different types of rooms located there? Standard, suites, etc?
Thanks for any info. I am getting together with the in laws this weekend to discuss.

The CR is divided into two main sections the Tower (which has the monorail) and the Garden Wing. So yes that entire building is considered the garden wing. In the wing, they have different types of views (standard, garden, and lake?) But anyway, they do have standard rooms which are identical to the rooms in the tower. I also do believe that they also have suites in the wings.
