Okay.. I have a question... the pic of the pool a few pages back looks to be the original CR resort pool.. from where it is located... now... will BLT have it's Own Pool area? That is what I thought I had read.. that the CR will continue to have it's pool.. and BLT will have a pool area that is seperate from the main one.. and that BLT guests can use both.. but CR guests can only use the CR pool... Did I dream this? Thanks!

No you did not dream that because that's what has been posted. Now if it's true I don't agree with it because if Bay Lake Tower guests can also use the pool at the Contemporary then we should be allowed to use their pool to make things fair. Although I also think if we still can't use the Bay Lake Tower pool then they should not be allowed to use the Contemporary pool.

However one Cast Member and a DVC Cast Member told me despite what's been posted Contemporary guests can use the Bay Lake Tower pool, because it would be just like the Villas at the Wilderness Lodge pool, because it's shared with Wilderness Lodge guests and their DVC members.

When will the BLT pool open? Any pics or drawings of what it will have or look like? We are going in late September, and I'd love to be able to have another pool to enjoy (assuming they let us!).

I am sure it will be open on August 4th, which is the scheduled opening for Bay Lake Tower.

We stayed from 12/13-21/2008 at the CR for the first time and loved it. We were early from the airport (via the Magical Express) and our room was available before the 3pm check-in time. We reserved a garden wing standard view room and were upgraded to a tower with a Bay lake view, which had a fabulous view and allowed us to watch the water parade nightly from our balcony. We were in room 4423 which is the monorail station end and were able to watch the fireworks from the hallway balcony or just a few feet away on the fire escape (just remember to put a towel in the door as it locks from the outside and no key entry to get back in). We walked or took the monorail on most occasions, and only took the bus 1 time to the Animal Kingdom (which also went for a pick-up to the Poly). Mousekeeping made a different object (swan, duck, mickey head, etc) each day of our stay and I had made envelopes for a "tip" that I lied out under the television. This was our choice and by no means a requirement, but thought it was appropriate for the type of hotel (deluxe) as this was. We left $1 per person/per day. I don't know if this helped in the towel animal request, but it couldn't have hurt & my daughter had quite a collection by the time we left! We never had bad service from any cast member and even got a couple of nice suprises. They asked us at check-in who my daughter's favorite princess was since we were celebrating her birthday. She got, on her actual day, an autographed photo of Snow White and 3 Mickey balloons. My husband and I got an autographed Donald and Daisy photo with 3 Mickey balloons for our 10th anniversary and they also gave us a small bottle of champagne with 2 glasses. We did not order any of this, nor pay for any of this. It was a complete suprise but a nice one none the less.

The game room is fun to blow off steam or for older kids to do when younger ones nap and the multiple gift shops offer different items at each ones. Mickey and Minnie make daily visits in the lobby for photographs and autographs, and I understand Santa does as well (but we didn't personally see him). They were dressed in the Christmas best with top hat and tails for Mickey and a beautiful red dress with white fur trim for Minnie. If you can afford this type of resort and don't mind the lack of theming here, you'll enjoy the resort and all it has to offer. We felt so overwhelmed with the theming at the parks, that to come back to a neutral/less themed hotel was fine for us. Others want that type of theming thrown at them their entire visit. We enjoyed our time there and it is definately somewhere we will stay again in the future.

IScrapbook,
Thank you for posting that wonderfull and very detailed trip report. I enjoyed reading it and it sounded like you and your family and a great time.

Hi there--

Sorry if this has been asked before, but alas, no search feature :( Does anyone have a relatively recent menu for the Sand Bar (or any of the CR lounges, for that matter)? I tried the usual places but they're all out-of-date (or not listed at all).

Thanks for your help!

Good Morning! I rarely post but am a faithful lurker. We have booked MK view atrium level but the My Disney Vacation page says 2 bedroom suite. I think I read awhile back there is a glitch in the system. Is this true and it is really correct?

Thanks for the help!

Yes, it is some sort of a glitch. My reservation says the same thing for Dec. We have the same sort of room booked. I called to make sure the computers had my reservation correct, and they do when they pull it up.
