Thanks so much for your response! I always trust what you say! I am arriving Aug 15th..that's why I want the April closing so the CS may be ready in time! I saw one post somewhere that stated you can fill your mug at Chef Mickey's..they did and no one bothered them. The CR may be tolerating this since there is really no where else to do so...They should get the CS done ASAP! I stayed at The Poly in November and having Captain Cook's was really great...to bad I didn't love the resort! If I find the answer I will let you know

My family and I are arriving Aug 17th and it would be nice if Chef Mickey's Express will be open by then. However if it's not I don't mind the food they sell at the Tempo Grab & Go, because the salads and sandwiches they sell in the refrigerators is excatly what was sold at the Food & Fun Center and I am sure the other foods they sell there is ok. So either way I am prepared if it's open and if it's not then nothing we can do.

I have read numerous posts and most conventioners are in the garden wings...that doesn't mean you will not get the tower..it is just information I have read..

Even though I have never stayed there for a convention, I have been in the elevator with guests who are there for conventions because they were wearing those convention lanyard badges and were staying on various floors in the Tower. So I would guess it's 50/50 that you will get a room in the Tower, however my example does show guests staying for conventions have stayed in the Tower.

Hmmmm....Concourse is rumored to close 6/1? We were going to go sans ADR before P&PP and just do food court on 5/31 but maybe we can get in under the gun.

I'm going to call tomorrow and let you know what I find out!

I don't think that your info is accurate. As far as I can remember, Chef Mickey's does not have a refillable drink station. The wait staff brings your drinks and refills to the table. Also, the CR is not currently selling mugs so you would have to bring one from a previous trip or buy one at another resort.

hmmmm..Well, how do you get the mugs if you are on the Deluxe meal plan?? They are included?? I am going to call and see what kind of information they can provide..

When I stayed there in December, they had a type of breakfast sandwich, Contemporary Scrambler I think is what is was called. You could get one with cheese, egg, & bacon or just cheese & egg. I didn't get one so I can't comment if they are any good. They also have your usual assortment of pasteries, juices, and yogurt.

I miss the Top of the World. The breakfast buffet was great as was the Broadway Review. Of course, there are many other options for breakfast bufets, but there aren't that many dinner show options. Disney could always use another dinner show. I say they get rid of the snooty california review and reinstate Top of the World!

I have a ressie for 40% off for 3 nights 9/08 in a Tower MKV room. I was unable to get the last night. Should I ...

A. Just keep calling...
B. Get a separate ressie for any room type for the 4th night...
C. Keep my Poly ressie for that 4th night...
D. All of the above!
E. (any other ideas?)

Also do you think that they would make us move? or Not let us add another night at check in?

It's not that I am doubting what this Cast Member told you, but I think she was wrong when it came to using the mugs at the Tempo Grab & Go, at least for gettings sodas. They don't have a soda machine like the Food & Fun Center had, because last August a manager from the Food & Fun Ceneter told me the Tempo Grab & Go can not accomodate one. When I went to visit the Contemporary in December and saw the Tempo Gran & Go they were selling sodas but only in bottles. Maybe the Cast Member you spoke to meant the mugs can be used at the Tempo Grab & Go for getting coffee and hot water for making tea. Although if that were true why were they not selling any mugs there? As for the Sand Bar on the old Contemporary FAQ thread someone posted that the mugs were not being sold there, unless that has changed.

I'm also concerned that you may not have the correct information. Tempo Grab & Go only has sodas in the 12 to 16 oz bottles. There is not a self-serve drink location there. There is one for coffee. I stayed at the CR during the first week of December and no mugs were being sold anywhere at the resort. Things could have changed since then. However I haven't seen anything posted on the disboards recently that indicate that mugs are now available at the CR.
