The Most MAGICAL Trip Of Them All! "EVERYTHING'S PERFECT!" Oct. 2012 UPDATE 1/11

Okay, so I just jumped back into the TR to see if there was something new (thought there was) and after looking at the picture of you as Belle, I realized that you totally look like the actress who plays Regina in Once Upon a Time! ACK!

Anyway...that's all...

Found your trip report and am anxiously awaiting more. DH and I are going to MNSSHP next October so I cannot wait to hear about your trip. Congrats on the Disney College program.

Chapter 1: ESCAPING TO DISNEY!
October 4th, 2012

This trip was much needed.

The whole week before I left for Disney, school was CRAZY. The amount of work I had to do was scary. I had my first test in my 400-level theater history course (yeah we read Greek and Roman plays. It literally makes me want to die) so I was just crabby and needed to get out.

Also, the night before Disney, I was informed that a roommate was being moved into my room. I was planning on buying the dorm out as a single, but for some reason I wasn't allowed to this year? Whatever. My new roommate and I are good friends, (she's a freshman theater major) so it all worked out... but I literally had to pack for Disney AND condense my room to half of the size in one night. No big deal. JUST KIDDING.

The morning of October 4th, it was DISNEY DAY. I got up at 9 am, showered, and then my Mom came up to my school to help me reorganize my entire room. THANK GOD SHE DID or else I literally never would have been able to leave. It was borderline disastrous.

We didn't get out of there for about 2 hours... so we left at 12 pm. We headed to the airport and ate lunch at this Greek restaurant called "The Odyssey." I got an omelet and Mom got a tuna melt. The food was honestly gross. Thank goodness we had Disney food to look forward to!

We went to the airport and found a parking spot in section P-11!

I was so happy. SO SO HAPPY. I kept getting waves of excitement knowing that I would be home in a matter of hours. I needed this escape and this relaxation. I WAS SO READY.

We went inside the airport and painlessly got through check-in and security. There was a precious old couple in front of us and the lady was cracking us up! She was crazy. Apparently the two of them had been trying to get Orlando since 6 am that morning, though. Their flights kept being overbooked! Thankfully they were on our flight and, obviously, we successfully made it there!

We got to gate 14 and sat there for a little bit. Before I knew it, we were boarding the plane! They loaded us onto the plane like 45 minutes early.

We decided to switch things up a little bit and take AirTran. (and by "switch it up," I mean they had the best rates for this particular day haha) We were satisfied with them - the flight was enjoyable!

We were in Row 22 which is an emergency exit seat. We were upgraded to sit there and get the extra leg room! I don't know how much help I'd be in an emergency situation, though, so I am glad we got to Florida all in one piece!

Our plane took off and I worked on my study guide for my Jazz class that I take at school. I had to look up a bunch of random stuff in the text book and it took me the ENTIRE flight to only finish half of it. Oh college.

Then THANK THE GOOD LORD we landed in Orlando at 5:30 pm! We got off of the plane and I was hit with the Florida smell! SO HAPPY. SO SO SO HAPPY.

HEY GOOFY, I'M BACK!!!!

dsc0822e.jpg

AirTran unloaded in Terminal B which was VERY convenient for the Magical Express! I finally didn't get lost!

dsc0824md.jpg

Our bags came out very fast, we went down one floor, and we went to the Magical Express Check-in desk!

img4940ux.jpg

We didn't have our documents sent to us ahead of time since Miranda booked it for us and it was kind of last minute, but they had no problem giving us our vouchers right there!

It's a MOTOR COACH. Not a bus.

img4945wn.jpg

We lined up for our bus to Caribbean Beach!

dsc0825i.jpg

We were loaded onto our Cruise Line motor coach quite quickly. There was sadly a long line ahead of us so we got stuck in the back, but that's okay!

img4946kf.jpg

I wrote in my trip journal, cried at the "Let the Memories Begin" song/movie, and then ALL THE SUDDEN we were driving under the purple gates! That was literally the fastest Magical Express ride EVER!!

dsc0829s.jpg

Caribbean Beach was the first stop on this bus, which was very convenient for us! We got off and went to check in!

The only other time I had ever been to Caribbean Beach was when I stayed there when I was 3 or 4 years old. So this was basically all new to me!

I realized that the moderate resorts have a similar feel to them. CBR's lobby especially reminded me of Port Orleans Riverside!

We were taken care of relatively quickly and our cast member was an International College Program student from China! He was precious and we could tell that he really loved working for Disney!

He checked us in and I was so pleased to see that THEY HAVE NEW ROOM KEYS! They aren't too original... but they're a new shade of blue, without Tink but with a similar castle decal! Here's my Not So Scary ticket - the room keys look exactly like this!

img5371s.jpg

Then behind the front desk, my inner 5 year old spotted the balloons! I was like ""AHH A NEMO BALLOON!" And our cast member guy was like "Oh do you want one? What color?" I said PURPLE because that was the one with Nemo on it! YAY YAY YAY!

dsc0830e.jpg

Even though getting a balloon is a very simple thing, I consider this to be one of the first magical moments of the trip. I just love special little touches like that. OH DISNEY thank you for instantly taking away my stress and worries with a simple purple Nemo balloon.

dsc0834sq.jpg

We got our room location, and we were placed in the Jamaica section! Perfect!

We waited for a cast member to pick us up and drive us to our room! That's one thing about Caribbean Beach - this resort is BIG. Oh and the bus system is AWFUL. Just throwing that out there. If I ever stay here again... I am bringing a car. No question.

Our room number was #4315! Miranda got us a cast member discount for the room, so we didn't get to choose specifics. However, everything was lovely! The room was adorable, the location wasn't bad, and we had a huge king size bed!

dsc0835u.jpg

TOWEL MICKEYS ARE SO GREAT!

dsc0837rj.jpg

Just love this comforter. LOVE IT. It's so perfect!!!!

dsc0838t.jpg

HIDDEN MICKEY IN THE COAT RACK!!!

dsc0841d.jpg

The other side of the room! (WHY was Stacey not on the TV yet?!!? I was slacking, so sorry.)

dsc0842sz.jpg

dsc0843f.jpg

And the ADORABLE border around the room! I love this whole Nemo theme. LOVE IT.

dsc0844ey.jpg

Then the bathroom!

dsc0846o.jpg

dsc0847o.jpg

We basically took pictures, freshened up for two seconds, I grabbed my camera and pins, and we were off!

It was raining really hard at that point and it was a little chilly... but I wasn't letting anything get me down because I WAS IN DISNEY!! WOOHOOO!!!

that dress that LumosQ102 posted is from a painting of a women in the haunted mansion. it is really pretty.

Ahh gotcha! Yeah it is!

OH MY GOD I DO!?!?!?! hahaha that woman makes me ANGRY. But she's pretty at the same time so I'll take it! Thanks!

Welcome! I'm glad you're here! I have lots to share about MNSSHP so I hope you like the updates! And thank you so much!

Sorry to hear that the week before your trip was so stressful! My week this week happens to be like that.

At my school we also have a theatre history course where we have to learn about ancient plays but their was a wider variety of countries where the plays originated from and few plays from each area. Luckily only half of them were in a foreign language. The course at my school is a history gen ed that you can take but it is a 300 level course. No one told me this when I was registering for classes my freshman year so when I signed up to take the course as part of my gen ed requirements i had no idea it was a 300 level course. The way my school registered freshman made us less aware of class numbers. Needless to say it was really hard and I had no idea why it was so hard. I ended up working really hard in that class and ended up with an A which I was happy about, especially when I found out it was an A in a 300 level course. Sorry for rambling about the class, it was just my long way of wishing you good luck in the class and I can relate to how hard theatre history can be.

Sorry to hear about the school giving you a new roommate with so little notice. I'm surprised they gave you a new one so far into the semester! It seems a little weird to give you the roommate then rather than at the end of the semester!

Anyway back to disney!!!!! I bet you were excited to leave after all of that stress beforehand. I remember you mentioning on twitter how stressful that week was for you beforehand which made me even more happy for you that the trip was such a good one!

That is sad about the airport food not being good but I guess that just means that the disney food will be even better later!

glad everything went well with your flight! i have never taken airtram or knew anyone who had so it was interesting to hear about the experience! Whenever my family flies we always take american or united. The united terminal at the airport right by my house is really cool because they have these really cool dancing lights in the walkway connecting the terminal to security and it always reminds me of Disney!

Sad about the having to be on the back of the bus, but at least it got you to disney quickly!

I love carribbean beach!!!!! My family use to stay there all the time when my brothers and I were younger and we loved the pool and food court/shopping area in particular! It has been a while since I have stayed there but I still have a fondness for carribbean beach! We always have a rental car when we are in disney so I never knew about the transportation issues.

weird not to see stacey on the TV right away. We know how many plans you have for a disney trip when stacey isn't on right away! That's how we usually are on our vacations. We unpack very quickly, freshen up and are out of there!

I am so sorry that school is so stressful this semester. It's like they want to make it as difficult as possible before you leave for the greatest place-EVER!

:yay::yay::yay:

Not too long, now, you can do it!

Cant wait to hear your info for MNSSHP (we are going next year). I learned so much from your Dec TR.

Thank you! You'll learn lots about it on this trip report! I'm glad you learned a lot and that I could be of help! Have magical trips! :thumbsup2

Haha well way to go for getting an A! Hard work pays off!

Yeah my school is weird. They are moving people around all the time. Oh well.

Yeah I wasn't mad!

I liked the resort! It wasn't my top favorite but it was perfect for a weekend trip :) I'm glad you have good memories there!

Haha I know, I was a busy bee!

I am so sorry that school is so stressful this semester. It's like they want to make it as difficult as possible before you leave for the greatest place-EVER!

:yay::yay::yay:

Not too long, now, you can do it!

That's okay. Disney is what's getting me through! Only 50 days until the semester is OVER! And then 84 days until I move to Disney!!! :cheer2:

Bahaha, I didn't notice it until seeing your Belle picture, it reminds me more of her "early Regina/before meeting Snow" times when her hair was kinda like that! I get what you mean about the making you mad!

It's so great that Disney got to be your escape, I definitely know how that feels, doing it in a couple of weeks! Yay! You must be so excited for your CP to begin, I would be absolutely dying!

UGH, THOSE DISNEY FEEEEELS :worship: The smells of orlando/disney is just so awesome. How great that you got a balloon, yay! CBR is great, hey? We loved it in April. I'm doing CSR in Nov for the first time, should be great!

I am so happy you're going back! Have fun!! :wizard: And OMG yes I am SO SO SO EXCITED!!!

I know, right!? I'm glad you understand! Yeah it's a cute resort. I love CSR too!

Yea for being back in Disney! I can't wait to see more pictures of CBR as I will be there in 25 days!

Thanks for the update! Great Photos ! :thumbsup2
Have you stayed at POFQ before? What is your opinion of the bus service at that resort?

Debbie

Great update! I am loving the Nemo rooms- so cute!

Isn't it great how the first few minutes at Disney can just change your mood entirely?:goodvibes

Sorry your week was so stressful. I can definitely sympathise, when I was at school I had so much work it wasn't even funny, I swear I lived in the library! Even now I work I seem to be constantly stressed too haha. But yay for arriving at WDW Carribean Beach is so cute, I love the finding Nemo stuff, so cool! Looking forward to more! :)

Haha oh goodness, that's not good!

Aww that's adorable. It sounds like you guys had fun even though it was probably crazy  I don't remember seeing you guys but I'm sure we coincidentally ran by eachother at some point!

That's perfect! I always end up buying new sweatshirts in Disney too because I sometimes forget that Florida has the ability of getting cold.

im thinking that is a convient forget to pack warm sweatshirt so you have an excuse to buy a new one.:lmao::thumbsup2

we did have fun running through it made for an intersting rest of the evening. :)

I’m sorry school has been crazy for you. Hopefully it gets better!

I am so happy to hear that you liked AirTran! I’m taking them to Disney next month and I wasn’t sure how they would be, but I am glad you had a good experience with them.

OH THANK GOD AirTran is in Terminal B! I ALWAYS get lost trying to find the Magical Express.

I just love when the CMs give you a balloon or something when you check in. Makes me so happy! (:

I love how there are so many Nemo decorations in the rooms!

I've read a lot of your trip reports before, definitely some of the best ones out there, but this will be the first one I'm reading before it's been completed. Can't wait for the next entry. Keep up the good work!

So exciting to see pics of CBR! That's always been our favorite resort. Of course, we always rent a car so I can't comment on the bus situation. Jamaica is our preferred section too! We love the walk across the bridge. It's so peaceful. Can't wait to hear about this trip.
