OMG I am sitting here laughing at a lot of this...I haven't read the whole thread yet, but I just want to warn everyone about our upcoming trip.:lmao: Some of you might want to stay away.

We will have MIL (MS, degenerative disk disease, knee replacement) and FIL (emphysema, bad knees) in ECV and wheelchair...both are overweight. Out of the 9 of us going, we have 4 overweight people:rolleyes: , 3 smokers (DSA only):guilty: , 2 strollers (18 mo old, 3 yr old) and the wheelchair and the EVC:sad2: . There will also be an 18 yr old (pushing his grandma):scared1: . The 3 yr old has a tendency to cry and be scared of everything. The 18-month old has a tendency to run if you let her out of the stroller for one second. I'm starting to think we are everyone's worst nightmare family!! :scared:

Here is the friendly warning. The dates of our trip are 6/26 - 7/2. I can't wait !!!!

Can't we all just get along? :teeth:

We can! Sometimes we'll just have to count to 10, be patient with one and another and understand that if we get grumpy ourselves (which is why we have to count to 10 ;) ) after a long day of walking and a lot of sun, the others we run into probably won't be at their perkiest either, nothing personal.

And if someone wants to, they can't only get along with me, but even come along. I'm bringing an extra wc, am I friendly and a hospitality queen or what? :rotfl2:

Thanks for the warning. We will be there the same time as you so I have called to change our vacation dates. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Oh man, I can see it now! :rotfl2:

I think you're right, that is the worst nightmare family ;).. no offense of course!:hippie:

We love the parades. We try to get a good spot well in advance of the parade for our two daughters. People will break in front of you without any reguards that they are disappointing young children.

I have politely reminded them that we had the spots but they do not care. It is not worth making a scene in front of the children.

If you could pick one thing that you have seen at the world that you would say really bothers you the most (with people, not necessarily with Disney) what would it be? Some people don't like the kid leashes, others can't stand when people blatantly cut in front of other in line.......for me, it really bothers me to see people on ECVs that don't have a physical ailment, but are just enormously overweight and don't feel like walking. It bothers me because i can't help but wonder are there people who are handicapped that could have gotten that ECV and now dont have one because an enormously overweight person has it.

I am not trying to be mean, just honest (and before I get completely killed, I am an overweight person myself).

What else bothers people?

Those people might actually have a physical aliment that keeps them somewhat sedentary, making them overweight. My mother was never overweight until she was in a car wreck that left her with vertigo and back problems.

The thing that bothers me the most is when I see people sharing wheelchairs just to go through the handicap entrances.

I'll chime in here...

First let me state that I have no problem with people on ECV's unless they're bad drivers. They should really be careful. The same holds true with people pushing strollers or letting the little kids push the strollers around. Little kids can't navigate in a crowd.

That said, here are a few things that bug me.....

1. People who scream at and belittle the CM's working at the counter service restaurants. It seems that on every trip, we encounter someone who isn't happy that they have to wait. (Normally a dad with an attitude) and they take it out on the CM's.

2. Families who get a wheelchair & everyone takes turns riding in it. It's amazing because you pass by a family & one person is in the chair....You pass by them again & the person who was riding in it the first time is now pushing it & someone else is riding.....and so on.....and so on......

3. This isn't something that really bothers me, it's more of a comical annoyance, but it happens all the time. Picture this....You're riding on a bus/boat/monorail to one of the parks first thing in the morning. Loud mouth lady near us is sharing her vast knowledge of Disney parks with her party......And it's all wrong!!!

4. Heelys - They're dangerous & have no place in crowds.

5. Kids who swing or sit on the stanchions, especially in CS restaurants. It's incredibly difficult to get out with a full tray when little Timmy is playing acrobat on the stanchion. One of these days, Little Timmy is going to end up with a tray of food on his head!!!

6. People who pass gas in line. This is just gross & people should try to control it in crowded places.

7. People who try to force children on rides. Borderlines on child abuse.

8. People who don't supervise their children or do nothing when they're misbehaving.

9. People who let their kids run wildly up and down the resort hallways.

10. People who scream those horrid blood-curdling screams in Haunted Mansion.....Just because they can.

11. The number of times the word "Nemo" is used in "The Seas with Nemo & Friends"

12. Sloppy people

13. People & kids who harass the birds and ducks in the theme parks. This makes our whole family mad & my DD thinks nothing of going up to them & putting them in their place. One time, she even told security!! So if you ever see a normally quiet, reserved teen chewing out another kid when there are lots of ducks nearby, that's probably my daughter.

I'm just going to keep adding to this.....

14. People who call "Mission Space", "Mission to Mars"

15. Ok, this one isn't really AT WDW, but it just really bugs me when friends/family take a trip to WDW & they happily give you a gift of a tee shirt with a really bad likeness of Mickey & Friends that says "Florida" & say "I got you a tee shirt from Walt Disney World!!"

I don't know if it's still there, but I thought Roly Poly Olie and Bear in the Big Blue House at the Playhouse Disney were pretty annoying.

Oh! I was in an ECV in the middle of the stretching room at DL's Haunted Mansion, and the boy next to me was scared and close to whimpering. I started talking to him, explaining that he would be fine, that Disney wouldn't make a ride that would hurt anybody, that I'd been in the HM about a hundred times and I was always okay, that there was nothing to be afraid of... when the lights went out, two "lovely" teenagers next to us who heard the whole conversation, shrieked, and then laughed  The boy - who had seemed ready to ride - and his family had to leave, he was so scared.

Now that would definitely be a case where a hit and run involving an ECV would be completely acceptable!!! :)

My DD has some ideas of her own about what is annoying...when riding home from the parks on the buses, she hates it when people feel the need to talk really loud when so many little ones are tired and trying to sleep. We had one incident where there was a family at the back of the bus that were being obnoxious and keep screaming: "Can we get a little air back here?". Quite honestly, it was so packed that I doubt even hurricane-force winds could have made it to the back of the bus. Of course, if they would have kept their mouths shout for a minute -- that would have cut down on the hot air tremendously!

Well, gee, calypso - from the relatively safe anonimity of somewhere else in the bus, I would have responded with exactly that statement!!! You need to travel with me. You can feed me lines, and I can say them out loud :teeth:

Now that sounds like a plan! :thumbsup2

A lot of our pet peeves seem to be based on assumptions about the other person. The extremely overweight person in the ECV may have gained the weight after a disability took away their ability to walk for more than short stretches. The person sitting on the bus while you stand may have a heart condition, or arthritis, or any of a number of other problems that you can't see. The person taking the elevator may have bad ankles or knees. Since we don't know the other person's medical history, maybe we could give them the benefit of the doubt.

On the other hand, I can't think of a single excuse for spitting on the ground. :maleficen

Right on...to both points!!

...when I'm at 'home' at BWV and people assume I'm a maid as I'm walking through the hallways! Seriously, though, this actually makes me laugh 'cause the person(s) get embarassed when they realise I'm not a maid! I know that people are naturally judgemental, as am I; if it looks like a duck, walks like a duck.....(But I don't wear a Mousekeeping uniform!:lmao: )

If it looks like a duck and walks like a duck- check it's uniform :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Hmm I have actually found this post quite amusing. I do not think it should be closed.
Personally I do hate people who cut off wheel chairs and such, usually when I am pushing the wheel chair and when someone does I got pretty good at clipping the back of their heel with the foot rest

Cell phones, honestly unless it is a medical emergency or someone has died you really do not need to be on it during a show, if so just tell the person to hold on then get up and leave

Bathing is another one, I think there should be smell detectors around and if someone H2S level (AKA you stink)is so high they send them down to a wash down station

People using Wheelchairs/ECV's who do not need them (If you need them you do not need to rationalize it and constantly defend it posting here. My grandmother needed on since she has a heart condition and would go out of breath fairly easy) if you are fat/lazy please learn the word exercise (And yes I was fat, 300lbs and now down to 250 and working down further)
I do have to admit when my grandmother was shipping I would take off in the wheel chair you know that hill at the entrance to the Epcot lagoon, do not try and use your hands as breaks on a wheel chair, also that thing was a a pain to roll up again
Smokers in a non-smoking area are annoying, you can not be having that bad of a nicotine fit

The people bumping into you is annoying at times or the people who stop in the middle of the road

The bad parenting is really annoying, though I have started a personal campaign to get ride of this. Usually I say in a ratherly loud voice what the kid is doing to make sure everyone hears me and now there attention is focused on the kid and soon the parents who then get embarrassed

People not giving up spots on a bus for someone who probably needs it more

$6.00 for a beer

I also have to admit I am one who usually sits/hangs/swings from the railings. I know I am only 34 but sometimes I can not help it

And lastly people who see you setting up a shot and walk right through it, glad I got a digital camera, but the old film ones that cost them cash on a the lost photo
