The method for getting a PIN worked for me and many others!!! YMMV

This is NOT 100%

It's random.....totally random. I'm not saying doing all of that doesn't trigger something because I think it does, but it's still random who gets the PINS.

Take it from me.....tried on 2 accounts well over a week ago. No dice ;)

I'm willing to try ANYTHING!! I'd love a good discount so we can upgrade!

couple questions....

1. IF I get a pin... it will go to the email address or will it show up in the message section of the DW site?

2.Is this a package code or a resort only code.... or can you do it either way? I already have our air booked, so it can't include air. If it is a package code... are the tix also discounted? May be its a resort code but you have to add tickets to use it?

3. Can multiple rooms be booked this way? We need 3 deluxe rooms.

4. I already have my resort booked with the 35% code from a few weeks ago... since that is in the system under my name (different email) do you SPECULATE that will interfere with the likeliness of a code arriving here?

I know I know not 100% etc, but hey, def worth a try.

I have been trying and trying... nothing has worked for me either.

I would love to get a 40% off pin so we could stay at AKL. If I'm doing disney math correctly, I think we could stay club level savannah view!

Where IS the pin fairy!

Okay, I consider myself computer saavy (former computer teacher) and I cannot figure out how you can create itineraries that do not need accomodations. You can price tix but there is no way to save the tix only as an itinerary.

I have been saving and deleting packages, room only etc. with multiple accounts since January and gotten nothing. I am utterly frustrated, so any info you can give as to how you save an itinerary without accommodations I would appreciate it.

go to www.disneyworld.com

Upon login, click on "My Vacations" (towards left/middle of page near the top), then click on "Itineraries" Then "Build a new Itinerary".

Good luck

It will go to your email address

I have booked 3 rooms with my pin previously. You just have to be there at check in for each room

if you haev a 35% discount already, how much more are you expecting!! :thumbsup2

you get an email or letter, it won't show up on the site

it depends on what they offer you...

Why don't you look at the villas? more space, same money (or less...)

Could hurt... sign up your SO and see if they get any love.

Maybe on vacation with the tag fairy! ;)

I have been trying, and trying, and trying, and the e-mail 20/30/40 arrived a little before noon! Wine & Dine, here we come!!!

Yep, that is the trick! I currently have a room only reservation for June with the 30/35/40% pin I received late Jan. But I'm in the middle of a huge project at work that may or may not end by June. Still don't want to cancel because the 35% off mod's is a great deal. So I saved an itinerary with dates for late July and declined to add resort stay. Did this this past Saturday afternoon (or maybe Sunday, not sure). Just now got this email:

We’re delighted you’ve been making plans online with My Disney Vacation! Since you’re still looking for accommodations, we invite you to explore total Disney magic with a Disney Resort stay at a great rate.

roomthreeseventeen, what did you do? I set up my itenerary, I've ordered all the vacation planning dvds, yesterday in the mail, I got something about a cruise if I buy DVC, but no pin. And trust me, when I saw something Disney in the mailbox, I totally freaked til I saw what it was. I swear Disney is messing with me! Also, just out of curiousity, say I get a pin then they offer free dining, you can't combine those can you??

Mostly, screwed around with itineraries AND saved offers, deleting and adding, depending on the day. I have NO idea what specific thing I did to trigger it, other than log in every day and price different things.

I did get THREE emails from Disney Destinations this week that did not include a pin before the pin came.

Okay, well, I'm giving it a try. DH and I aren't interested in free dining so much this time, and we don't have kids that can stay or play free, so a room discount would probably be our best option. We might even be convinced to upgrade to a deluxe if we received such a PIN, and I guess that's what Disney is hoping for. They'll be getting my money regardless, the question is just how much. I'll let you all know if we're successful.

At one point I booked my trip then decided to wait, and I've also made my dining ressies, I hope that doesnt stop me from getting a pin....although who knows what triggers it or doesnt....

May be totally random btu I tried on 3 accounts and I have gotten 3 pins so far. I messed around with these on April 8th and I recieved all three just now.

Just posted on another thread, I GOT ONE!! HOORAY!

I had been working on this for weeks!!!

I had created a new email address and set up a new profile under DH name. I set up 2 intineraries (one with needed accomodations and another with non-Disney resort as my accomodations). I believe this account was set up last Thursday. So it did take several days. However, one thing I noticed is that yesterday morning I went in and saved a vacation and got the generic email from Disney about the resort I chose but no PIN attached. So yesterday afternoon I went into that same profile and deleted that vacation and today I got the PIN.

I did not save truckloads of money (only $150), but even if it was $10 - money is money and I could use that extra for tips on our ADR's!

I hope everyone that wants one gets one. I could save about $100 more if FD comes out. Will have to wait and see on that one!

Yeah - I agree that this "method" definitely triggers the PINS. What I meant was it is still random who gets them. There are a lot of us that have tried this and received NADA :confused3

I'm sure it sounds ignorant, but I have no idea what a 20/30/40 PIN is....anyone?

I think you might be overthinking it a bit.
Saving vacations or itinerarys on the Disney website is a far cry from hacking into the Disney system.
How is it *manipulating* an offer when no one has any idea how or if it works? :confused3 People are not doing anything they shouldn't be doing on the website. Not to mention there is absolutely NO proof that anything actually does work. I think you are giving us all way to much credit in saying that we have actually cracked the case of the mysterious Disney PIN system.

Sometimes these debates can get dicey, so i want to make sure we're all on the same level. I love disney, you love disney, we all do. You are correct in saying that it is not 100%. 100% of the posters who have tried, have not gotten pins. However, many, are posting that after they did the trick, they got pins. So, not 100% but a pretty good percentage. Unable to gauge the really percentage.
It just sorta reminds me of my son and xbox live. They play a game, someone learns how to boost up their player, and after awhile microsoft patches the error.
In this scenario, there are probably an increased number of hits, especially, incomplete or changing itineraries. It could potentially put a draw on the system. Somepeople report to have been locked out, so disney does care how many people play with bookings.
If there is even a small likelyhood that the incomplete itinerary is a contributing factor to getting a pin, and disney knows we're doing it on purpose, they would be pretty likely to find another way to offer pins.
Thats where im coming from.
Its not an issue of legality as much as ethics, in my view. I see the other side, Im torn between the two. I even tried the trick..:hippie:
