The method for getting a PIN worked for me and many others!!! YMMV

Im right there with you! I have 7 accounts to check. My days are spent log in, log out, log in, log out, log in, refresh, log out etc.....

Sounds like a fulltime job :lmao:Hope You find one soon in your email!

Okay it worked for me too but here's what I did...first, I used a non-disney provided email (one that I have not previously used in any fashion). Then I created two itineraries- one that said I did not need accomodations and one that said I do need accomodations- but without a Disney property filled in.

I did this on Thursday last week and got the 20/30/40 pin that everyone else seems to be getting.

I had also tried this with my other email account (the one associated currently with my reservation for August) and did not receive a pin- waited 2 weeks so I decided to retry it with a different (new if you will) email.

Hope it works for you too!

I've tried everything too, and still never received a pin. We're also AP holders, and I call every week or so just to check.

Just a few minutes ago I did call to modify my ressie and said to the Cm that I would love to upgrade to Poly CL but could only do so with a room discount and I just never seem to get lucky and get pins. He said well I see a room discount here, let me see if we can get you in the Poly for your dates and low and behold we're now booked at the Poly CL!

I've STILL never seen a pin come through though, but calling certainly worked for me this go round! :cool1:

I read the posts regarding the itinerary suggestion, and tried it last Thursday evening. I deleted my saved items, and put in a new itinerary for the first week in December, stating we needed on-site lodging and tickets. I sent up a small happy thought to my fairy godmother, and then went about my business. I got my 20/30/40% room only discount through the end of the year e-mail at about 11:00 this morning. I was so majorly pumped, that I actually lost some work focus for a while. Now here is hoping that I can do the Disney math, and justify the vacation!!! :thumbsup2

Thanks to all those that give these great tips and hints!

I am about ready to pull my hair out at this point :confused3

I have done everything to get a PIN and nothing! I did go in and save a vacation on one profile yesterday, but just got an email "explore your resort" with no PIN. I scoured it for about 5 minutes to make sure I did not miss anything. I have 4 profiles going (one for each member of our family), but nothing.

I am making myself crazy, please Disney just send it already!

You said you needed on-site lodging? Knwo I don't knwo I thought everyone was doing off-site. Thanks for the post:surfweb:

I messed with the saved itineraries so often they locked me out of the reservations module.

Seriously.

If I want access, I have to use a second email.

Okay, I consider myself computer saavy (former computer teacher) and I cannot figure out how you can create itineraries that do not need accomodations. You can price tix but there is no way to save the tix only as an itinerary.

I have been saving and deleting packages, room only etc. with multiple accounts since January and gotten nothing. I am utterly frustrated, so any info you can give as to how you save an itinerary without accommodations I would appreciate it.

You have to go into "My Vacation" and down to "Itineraries." It's different than trip planning & reservations.

:lmao::rotfl2::lmao: Not AT you but with you:lmao:

Ditto! Laughing with you, not at you! :lmao::rotfl2:Non-Disneyaholics would never understand but WE DO!!!

Thanks for a good laugh! I needed one since I NEVER get any pins EVER and have tried everything here with the itineraries and everything else, bla bla bla. The only time I ever received anything was ONE SINGLE postcard back in the dark ages (8 years ago or so?) when AKL first opened up.

Ok, next plan... register a new account for my 21 yo DD and pretend she is taking ME this year! Watch, she'll get a pin, but then won't be able to go because of a summer job or something. ;) tink

The instructions given work in some circumstances - but not all. Please do not say 100% - I appreciate as do others your enthusiasm, and am happy for you, but I am almost positive if the folks at Disney who are (maybe)watching and monitoring this see this kind of thing (not just the boards) it will change in a heartbeat.

I did all of this stuff for literally years and finally got a code this year, yes, I know I just double talked myself. But in between we also said to heck with Disney and went cruising for a couple of years - so maybe we should add that to the sequence of events ie ignore Disney for a few years..see what I mean???

Who knows what ridiculous computer program they have chewing away at the names of past guests versus money spent versus time spent etc etc...

My point is folks get stressed out enough before during and after a Disney visit, please don't add this to your stress as well.

Same with waiting for codes..if you want to see stressed folks check out the FD code thread...

I will concede that it appears that this method has a less than 100% success rate. however, the fact cannot be denied that I followed the previously posted instructions and received a pin within 48 hours... at an address that Disney did not previously have on record. As many others are now chiming in with the same type of success, it must not be coincidence. My percentage may have skewed high due to my enthusiasm but this is the most successful pin method that has been posted to date, is it not?:thumbsup2

I registered my new account with my own info... just a different email address... I believe that is the only thing that must be changed in order to create a new account...

There seems to be a little confusion about what information to enter, and where to enter it. I too, was confused about what to do, until beautiful tomorrow explained the difference to me. I would like to attempt to provide some assistance in navigating through the Disney site, and saving an itinerary. Again, as it has been said, this is by no means a guaranteed way to get a pin code, but many have tried it and gotten one, so I guess it never hurts to try.

Okay! Go to Disneyworld.com, and on the left hand side at the top, you will see "Sign in or create an account". This post will start with people who already have an account. If you don't already have one, simply follow the prompts to create your own log in. Some people have tried using different email addresses than the ones they have previously used. It seems that this may be part of the trick, but I cannot say so for sure.

After you log in, still at the top of the page, near the center, you will see My Disney Vacation. Click on that. Scroll down a little, and you will see Build a New Itinerary (it's small and easy to miss imo). Click on that, and it will ask you for a bunch of information:

1)Enter a name for your vacation (call it anything you want to)

2)Travel dates (note! do not click on the little calendar!! There is a glitch in the website that will take you to a page that says not available - so just enter the dates with the pull down menu)
Enter dates for this year.

3)Travel party (number of adults and children)

4)Do you need accomodations? Yes or No (The default is pre-set to yes, so leave it that way)

5)Do you need park tickets? Same as #4

Click on continue in the lower right corner of the box you are in. My computer blocks pop-ups, so all the times I have done it for my friends and co-workers, I have not done anything further. I know that if you allow pop-ups, you will get another window asking lots of questions about accomodations. I cannot offer advice about what to do with this additional pop up window. I have read numerous posts where people enter different types of information, and posts where people have not entered any information at all. For me personally, as I said, I did not do anything further than continue. Without the pop up, it will say that you have a saved itinerary.

This is something completely different from saving an offer (which is where you navigate through the reservation system), and save a priced vacation offer. I have done this as well many times, for many people, and it does not seem to "trigger" the pin code email.

So.....I hope this information helps a little bit. I know that not everyone is guaranteed a pin code email, but my thought is that every little bit helps, so good luck! If anyone has additional information, please add, as I am certainly not the expert. I just wanted to share what little I had. :flower3:

I registered my new account with my own info... just a different email address... I believe that is the only thing that must be changed in order to create a new account...

Thanks for the info. Yep, I did that too, with my other email addresses over the past few years/months/weeks and still have never gotten any type of code, boo hoo, so since DD is an adult now and she goes to Disney with me, I decided to see if she, being a young person with fresh new ideas, and a much younger birthdate, ;) would get a cool pin code, instead of me, an old person with ideas that are not neccessarily fresh or new, and with a much staler birthdate.

Unless my old seasoned mind deceives me, when DD went into the itinerary for accomodations, there was a box to actually type in information about where she is staying and if she is staying in one place the whole time. It was as if Disney really cared what she was up to. Yet, when old feeble minded me went into the itinerary for accomodations, there was no box to type in added info. Basically, when I let them know I am staying off-site, it was like, 'offsite? yeah, sure, ok." ;) Kinda makes you wonder.

One more thing... lol... this is the first year in about seven years that I have not purchased an AP and the first year in about eight years that I do not have a trip booked for this year. And still... nothing.. no pins or codes coming my way. Yeah, yeah, I know I'm in good company with the rest of the pinless people, but this is the first year that I am about 50% sure we are not going this summer and I would like to live under the delusion that Disney feels just awful about losing me. ;)

I followed the above instructions a few days ago but I said I did not need accomodations. I then was asked where I was staying and I said a non-disney resort. I got a 20/30/40% pin a few days later but unfortunately not for my dates. I stated that I was going Dec 21 but the pin is only good up until the 16th. When people are saying they got a pin "good up until the end of the year", do they really mean until Dec 31st? :confused3

I am one that has not gotten a PIN yet and I have a question. Once you guys set up your itineraries, did you sign out immediately and not sign back in until you got a PIN?

That is the only thing I can think of that I might be doing differently as I have been signing back in and looking at prices and dining ressies. I am going to stay out tonight and see if anything happens tomorrow.

If not I am just going to drop it and see if anything else happens for summer dates. I do have the 35% room discount, so it is not like I am going to save thousands of dollars, but I would save about $250 on our current ressie with the 40% PIN. The only thing that would save me more would be Free Dining, but I really do not see that happening for June dates.

I was considering upgrading to CL with the 40% PIN, but I think I will just keep our standard room and hope a little pixie dust might flow our way. I think we all hope for that :tinker:

I just noticed that it is my 10th anniversary on the DIS!!! I don't have many posts, I am a big lurker!!!!

I did mine a week ago and don't have one yet. Tried on my wifes as well...I'm hoping really hard that I can get one. We have a trip planned for September and we would like to stay in a deluxe resort!!!
