Sunday December 3, 2000
Slept OK and up at 7:20 - late getting out the door and to the food court for breakfast. We are off to AK today. Bus took a while to come so we were late meeting up with everyone so we ended up meeting them after we got off the safari.
Had a great ride and saw lots of animals. A baby giraffe walked right by the bus - cool ride as always. Went to see the Lion King and I taped pretty much the whole thing (this is the first time we brought the video and I was gonna tape everything!) This show is so wonderful - I loved it! After that we went to see flights of wonder which turned out to be a really cool show - quite funny. Casey got her face painted as a beautiful butterfly, it was really awesome.
Off to lunch at the Flame Tree barbecue - pretty good sandwiches. It was pretty chilly today and we should have worn jeans but the weather channel was saying 68 - felt more like 50! And not much sun either. Casey went off to the Boneyard to play and when we caught up with them, I went down the slide with her, think I am just a little too big for this. We all went on CtX - what a great ride, the picture was a riot and Casey was ducking (DadMc bought this one too). Tried to see Tarzan but we just missed the last show. Saw Tigger and got some pictures (he's my favorite) and we are off to Asia which none of us has seen.
Saw the bats - GROSS - but still pretty neat then over to see the tigers which were AMAZING! Between this area and the safari Danny took about 3 rolls of film. This was simply wonderful, especially when they are so close behind the glass windows. Got some great video and photos. Then we walked through the birds and we had our own personal guide. This whole area was a great addition to this park.
It was pretty chilly but we all decided to brave it out and ride Kali River Rapids. Mom and Dad brought ponchos from home and we bought one for Casey and DadMc. We should have all bought them because the rest of us got soaked! Danny got it the worst the first time and then we stayed on for a second ride (as no one was is line) and this time Peggy and Casey got it. Peggy was totally drenched - we were all laughing so hard through both rides. It was a lot of fun and we left after that because we were all cold and wet!
We went back to the hotel to change into dry warm clothes and we (not my brother's family) are off to MGM to ride RnR! Oh My God! This ride was AMAZING - (get it - AMAZING!) The take off was so incredible and I was screaming my head off the entire ride. We all loved it! DadMc bought the picture and we all said we would definitely have to come back to ride again. Even MomK loved it! (she was pretty nervous but was glad she did it) Because it was the end of the night there were no more FP so we did have to wait about 30 minutes for it, but it was well worth the wait. Ran over to the Little Mermaid but it was closed, so we split up and Danny and DadMc and I went to Planet Hollywood to eat.
My FIL is a big movie buff so we figured he would enjoy this place. Had a great spinach dip appetizer and cool drinks - 15 minute wait for a table. I had the chicken fingers that were delicious. Ate our dinner and then left, it was really cold this night. Home and in bed by 11:30 - tired but happy, we had a great day!
