The May 2007 Rate/Code Watch

I would make your ressies now for AKL. YOu can always apply the discount once it becomes available.

While you can often apply an AP discount to an existing reservation, Disney only offers "x" number of discount rooms. Not all categories are necessarily offered either. For example, if to many people book now on rooms they won't keep, Disney will look and see a particular room type is at high occupancy percentage and not offer the discount. I would suggest book only what you are happy to pay for. When/if the codes come out, you can always change.

The OP is right, you can wait to buy the AP

You know, I'm really getting ticked off with you "May" people. May is our favourite time to go to the World. We have never had a problem booking in the past, we have never had a problem with ride lines, or dining reservations.

This year we have been trying to book since November 06, for May 07. CSR all booked up, so we thought we'd try a split stay, value first week, deluxe (for the first time) second week. Contemporary is my dream resort, but no tower rooms available. I'm getting frustrated, we have booked a garden view room, but would one of you please cancel your tower reservation, so I can have it. I know I sound obsessed, and I am. When did May get so popular.:scared1:

Really, I wish you all a wonderful holiday, but I wish for me, a tower room at the contemporary
Wow I booked CSR in Nov for May and had no problems. Goodluck!

Chesters Mum....May is a HUGH convention month in Orlando and Contemporary and CSR are convention hotels. There are probably blocks of rooms set aside right now for whatever conventions are holding meetings there.

They will probably release unbooked rooms back at some point in time closer to May. Keep checking

I have a pkg booked at with Disney for May 3rd-May 14th. I'm really counting on some sort of discount! Last year we got the free ticket upgrade....any thoughts on this being offered again?

Would it make sense to join AAA and change my ressie? Is it too late for that? Or should I just keep hoping Disney will come out with a code?

I have heard this before, and I fully intend to stay on it. I refuse to accept defeat.

It "May" be the only time I can afford to stay at the Contemporary, so "In for a penny, in for a pound", I want that tower room. I'm not desperate enough to pay over $600 for a free breakfast at the Atrium Club though. Wishing and hoping. :wizard: Thanks for the encouragement.

I just may die of happiness, my dear MIL just offered to take my family of 4 and my BIL's family for a week in May to the POLLY! I pray that a good AP code comes out cause I feel pretty guilty about how much this trip will cost. (however, I could not hurt her feelings and say no:rotfl: ) OHH, this is Fitzkerry not Poohlvr, she will be very jealous when she hears we're going.

are the discounts only for the ap's? or can you get discounts if youve already bought your tickets?:confused3

Sometimes you need an AP when you check in..Worst case scenario you head for guest services to get one before you check in,although I have never heard of anyone having to do that..If you already have tickets you can upgrade one of them to an AP at guest services..Only one person needs an AP to get the discount.
If you have questions about how the AP works, send me a PM

I don't have an AP and I don't have a Disney Visa. Will there be a package code I can use?

I am wondering the same thing!!!!!! I have a room only ressie at the CR Tower for 3 nights 5/31-6/3 at rack rate.:scared1: I could really use a discount. I hated not to make the ressie since the CM indicated that there weren't many left. Any suggestions?

Before joining, call AAA and make sure that there are still discounts available at your resort for your dates.

Just changed our reservations again yesterday (for the 3rd time) We are booked with the AAA discount right now May 16-22 GF Sugar Loaf. Turns out this is only $3 more a night than what we were going to have at the Boardwalk Innkeepers Club. With 3 kids 5 and under it just seems to make more sense to stay at a Monorail resort.

Okay, we are hoping to go in May too. This may have already been asked and answered but this thread is too long for me to search through it right now so I'll just ask again.

We are thinking about joining AAA. If I do, can I get a discount on a vacation package that includes the dining plan or would they only apply it to a room only reservation? And if I can do it on a vacation package, can I do this through calling Disney or would I need to go through AAA? Any info. you can give me would be beyond appreciated! :)

The discount can be applied to a package or a room only ressie, but the only portion of a package that is actually discounted is the room. Hope that makes sense. Also, room only ressies can be made thru Disney CRO but packages cannot. So if you want the DDP with a AAA discount on your room, you must book thru a AAA agent. I hope that helps you!
