The MARCH of the Ducks!

I was lost on the old thread and then left town...

It was a bad week for minutes and mileage. We are leaving town and unless I figure out how to count yard cleanup at my MIL's, I'm done for the week of March 1-7.

240 minutes
18.1 miles

Thanks for the C25K advice. I repeated week 4 at 5.0-5.2 mph. Much better. I started week 5 this week. It's a different running pattern every day. I look forward to just running.

In another vein, I need to find someone to run with, or at the very least, get outside. I've been doing most of my runs on a treadmill because it's convenient and because it's cold outside. I have noticed when gym guy comes in to do the morning routine (old towels out, new towels in, get the TVs turned on) and we chat for a few minutes it feels totally different. It's not just me and some weird music - it IS weird - it's me and Steve talking while I run.

There is a group run that originates from what I now think of as my running store. I am going to check it out.

Hey everyone! It sounds like all of you are doing well for the most part. Lisa I wish I had an answer for you. About the best thing I could come up with is wrap it while you run and ice it afterwards. The next best thing, for me anyway, would be to find a good chiro and see if they could help. I hope it gets better for you soon.

Liz I am so happy to see you around. You have been missed, that's for sure. I know you are going to follow your doctor's decisions because you are smart. I just want to tell you to take it easy when you get back at it. We don't want you to hurt yourself. Call on me anytime you need your little bro!! You have the number.

Augie That was a good guess but way off. Honestly, you gave me the idea the other day. The quote was from Sapce Cowboys. It was the scene where a couple of the "rookie" astronauts were in there weight training and they asked Tommy Lee Jones if he could lift 225 also. So he got James Garner to spot him and the rest is history, so to speak.

Erica Where is my Erica?? My original movie buff teammate, where are you??? I have been missing your enthusiasm around here. Hope all is well with you and you will come back soon.

Beth I have been wondering what had happened. Your totals are very good. Nothing to suggest that you are not motivated. I personally think that you are doing awesome!! Keep moving and don't forget to stop by every once in a while.

Lisa Those are some great numbers. Keep it up!

Jenn $400 for 7 nights. I may have to look into that. That sounds like a great deal and just maybe something that I can afford. Congratulations on that. Also congratulations on being able to spend your birthday in Disney. That is something that I was hoping to be able to do this year but it isn't going to happen. Oh well. Maybe next year.

Sharon Your Disney knowledge will make me think that you are a true fan. Who would have imagined huh??

As for Me I have been faithful to the gym this week. (Wow. A whole 2 days!) I am planning on doing something everyday for the rest of the week. I am aiming for at least 125 miles for the week but I guess we will still see.

Tomorrow is "Hump Day"! We have reached the middle of the week. Let's keep it up and finish the week with a lot of gusto, vigor and enthusiasm!!

Hello Ducks!

Just a couple of shout-outs!

Liz, Liz, Liz: Great to see you back! I hope your recovery continues to go--being restricted from work AND unable to run must make it tough on your mentally. I'm sure walking will help raise your spirits. Not to mention the Florida sun! (Wish I was going with you.) :beach:

Vacation Trader: I don't think I've "met" you, so welcome! :welcome:

Erica: I know you're busy and suspect I even know what you've been doing. Good for you. I hope all is going swimmingly!

Bryan: Okay, this was the reason I got on tonight. Because I don't know what I'll be on I wanted to make sure I caught you, albeit a bit early, on your big day tomorrow.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!
:bday: party: :cake: :drinking1

   I really don't know what to say but thank you all for the birthday wishes. I know there has to be somthing else going on today though. To coin part of a Phil Collins song, "It's just another day in paradise."

I hate to say that I slept through my morning run that I had planned. I would go right now but in about 45 minutes or so, I am supposed to go out on my volunteer patrol. After that, we are supposed to be at my parent's house for dinner. I am going to get a workout in after dinner though. I promise. (I haven't skipped a workout session yet on my birthday. I sure am not starting now.)

Thank you all again for making my birthday a lot more special.

Useless Trivia: Today is also the birthday of a very famous and important person in American History, yet a lot of people don't know who he is. 86 years ago, in 1933, a man by the name of Wally Schirra was born. For those who may not know who Wally is, he was the 5th American to fly into space in Project Mercury and the only man to fly all three of the original projects; Mercury, Gemini and Apollo. I was supposed to have the dubious pleasure of meeting Captain Schirra in June 2007 but about 6 weeks before hand, he passed away.

Let's go DUCKS!! Let's have a great, great day!!!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BRYAN!!
Have a lovely day!

...and, the spreadsheet is updated for now. We're a little behind our Feb. weekly avg, but a few haven't posted yet. That's cool....LTO/WTO sometimes...I know that's my reason.

I'm a big fan of the space program and try to keep up to date with all the news and stuff. Have always read about Wally... he was actually born in my town in NJ! :) I'm sorry you were not able to meet him. I heard we was a very personable man. My friend that lives in the Orlando area and attends many astronaut meets, dinners, etc and I get to hear all the stories and see all the pictures of all the famous guys.

Hi, Betsy...slacker here reporting in. Unfortunatley, not only did WTO and LTO, but most of all FSFTO (that stands for Stomach Flu Took Over, you guess what the first F stand for. :rotfl: ) So my numbers for last week and this week are going to be pretty light, as i only got to the gym a couple of times before I got sick, and am only just starting to hold down solid food again.

However, no matter how miserable i felt, at least i didn't undergo surgery recently, so in that light, I'd like to donate what few miles and minutes i have to Liz for last week.

Minutes: 105
Miles: 17

Thanks! Hoping to at least get to the gym tomorrow and saturday to try to get some sort of numbers going for March.

Hey everyone! I just wanted to stop by real quick and tell you all thank you again for all of the wonderful birthday wishes!!!! It really helped make the day special for me to get so much love from my family and friends!!

You are all so AWESOME!!!:worship: :grouphug: :flower3:

Well, here is my birthday cake for yesterday. I had asked for a different slogan on it but I guess this one will do. (What I had asked for was for it to say "Running Towards Another Year")

Hope everyone is having a great week!!
