Seriously, I love the videos...did you check out Lanaindiana or Gossmakeupartist? they are my favorites.

I checked out Gossmakeupartist but now I will check out the other one too!

I saw an ad on Tv for Rapid Lash which I think is like Li Lash I was wondering if anyone had any info. I do not think it is like Latisse because that requires a prescription for it.

I am tempted since it is 49.00 rather than the 120 for the brand at Sehora.

I just want you to know what an inspiration you have all been to me :rotfl:

I actually put on a full face today for the first time in...months (*shudder*) AND IT WAS SO AWESOME. [DiorSkin, BE Mineral veil, BeneFit Erase Paste, Benefit Boi-ing, Smashbox shadows & liner & eyebrow wax/powder, L'ancome Defincils Mascara & BeneFit The Gloss (whee!). I usually just sweep on a little mineral powder, mascara & lip tint because I live in a sauna down here, I thought I was fighting a losing battle...au contraire, I found!] I felt so pretty, so pulled together, so polished. It was wonderful. I even hunted down & fought our old accountant & won our overdue $150 bucks back. Coincedence? You be the judge.

Anyway, I'm not just popping in after endless pages of lurking to sing the praises of makeup - that would be preaching to the choir, no? However, I did want to chime in with something helpful. For the ladies that have been looking for a great eyeshadow primer, I cannot recommend BeneFit's 'Boi-ing' highly enough. I know it's supposed to be a concealer, which it started out as for me, but then as I got more tan, it got more pale and I used it very little. And then one day, to smooth my eyelid canvas, I smoothed some on there and applied my shadow. And it lasted all day long. Yay! Additionally, I was really surprised to not see BeneFit's SheLaq mentioned on here. That stuff is the business for bullying your eyeliner (and anything else you brush it on, really) into remaining motionless. It is totally boss.

Meanwhile, I am eagerly anticipating my mom's visit next week so that I may childlessly hit up the local Sephora and plaster myself in various lipglosses...omg, y'all...lipgloss. I always (like even when I was 23) thought I was too old for lipgloss. I think I was under the impression that all lipgloss was bright pink with sparkles and mega-shine...foolish me. Anyway, I have been a loyal fan of Benetint (Mmm, yes, I have been celebrating the entire BeneFit catalogue for a while...clearly time to branch out) for about a year now and was not looking to upgrade until I started reading about you grown women loving on lipgloss. And now, I can't wait to join your ranks.

So thank you all for your good advice, recommendations, reviews and general girly gab. Although I don't even think I'll join the ranks of you all-stars with 91 eyeshadows, I'm still stoked to rediscover The Wonders of Cosmetics. :lovestruc

I've been trying to figure out what to do with all the little empty Sephora sample pots I have. :scratchin

I decided to make my own lip color in one of them. I took 3 different lipsticks that have been sitting around: one a dark wine color, one a little too pale from when the the pale natural look was in, and a bright street hooker's red. I combined them in varying degrees. I put it on with a lip brush and add on a sheer pink lip gloss on top. Now I have a nice cherry red color I'm really happy with. :woohoo:

I love those little pots - they're great for carrying bits of emergency product; I filled one with smoothing balm for my hair, another with diaper cream goes in the kid bag. :thumbsup2

Any good tips for all day lipcolor? Something that doesn't dry and cake or anything that can go over other lipsitcks to seal in color for all day wear?

Just remember not to mix those two up! ;)

I just got back from Cedar Point. We had a blast! As I was packing my hair products and make up in my bag for our two night stay, my dad makes the comment, "You sure are High Maintenance!"

"Yes, and proud of it!" princess:

My makeup lasted all day though. So there you go. :thumbsup2

I have to say my hair is really looking good and I do not know why. I mean it usually looks okay and when I was in Fla sometimes it was not okay and I was washing it like every day and sitting in sun and chlorine. Now am back in MA and have been using a combo of the Liquid Keretin shampoo and conditioner as well as the Waren Tricomi heat protectant and the No Frizz that was supposedly developed by MIT. I do not even really need to use the flat iron whereas in Fla I was flat ironing all the time. I figured when I got back it would be FRIED!

If I knew what was making it look good I would do it all the time. Sad part is it will look good for a few washings and then I will have to start with a combo of products all over again. :rotfl:

I forgot, ULta is having their periodic sale on polish(2) and eyeshadow(2,00) and b rushes (8,00) I know someone was looking for these items a while ago and I just stumbled on them today. I got more of the X dri for the nails because I am still loving it. I think they had blush and a bunch of other things too.

HI guys,

Is there still no one who has used the stuff that makes your lashes grow that is available without a prescription. One brand is Li lash and now CVS has one for 49 dollars.

It may have been the water down in Fla. Different hardness or softness. When I leave NY and wash my hair, it is always so much fluffier and softer. :cutie:

Hi Bella!

Wish I could help you with the lash question, but I haven't tried those. Have my eye on the LiLash, but the price is keeping me from trying it just yet. Hopefully someone will have some info. That $49 price sounds much more reasonable! :thumbsup2

Thanks for the headsup on the Ulta sale. I don't have one of those stores near me, unfortunately (or is that fortunately). Going to go check it out online after posting.

I hit up Sephora again today for my second time. :lovestruc :cloud9:

Bought:
Two-faced shadow insurance primer
Kat Von D tattoo concealer (even though I don't have tattoos...)
3 Sephora brand eye shadows - pink, glittery tan, and purple
Sephora blush
OPI color - dark plum/brown color (forget the name and too lazy to get up... but it's very pretty for the fall).

Have my eye on the Two-faced Candlelight Face Powder and that hot pink dual-ended brush ($35), but run out of money. Next time. Grrrr....

Would also like to do some hunting for a really great foundation. I use Bare Minerals and Everyday Minerals (depending on what my hands grab first, lol). But I notice both seem to be settling into my fine lines and pores and making them much more noticeable. Hate to go back to a liquid though. Right now I'm actually using a combination of liquid and mineral powder, but it's a pain. I just want ONE foundation that works great at concealing but yet looks natural, not cakey.

Threeboysmom - I'd love to hear what you think of the Sephora brand eyeshadows after you use them. I purchased one (very sparkly, engagement ring was the name) and I found it just awful to use. Then again, the only other pressed shadows I've used were Urban Decay, some maybe they are all hard and flakey? :confused3

Anyway, I'd love to hear what you think. In the meantime, does anybody know if I can return the Sephora shadow without the receipt? Don't believe I saved it.

I cannot sing the praises of the ULTA brand Shadow over the Sephora. It goes on just like Mac or the higher priced shadows. It was on sale for I think 4.00 for a single. I know I have said this before but I will say it again if you buy the ULTA DO NOT get the multi color pallets because they are made in CHINA while the singles are made in USA. With all the problems with products made in China in the past I am no way going to put somthing like that on my eyes.

Philosophy is having a sale(on line) that unfortunately ends to day. It is 15% off your order over 75 and free shipping. I know some of us use the Eye HOPE and Hope in a Jar so this is a good deal.

I also know that beauty crunch is having a deal if you are signed up with them. They are giving some of the eyeshadow pallets 2/1 I got "Little Brown Dress" Pallet by POP 2/10.50! It is not for me but my niece. She is 15 and wants to wear make up and it will be very natural with her coloring. It is a 50.00 value. I know that some people were not pleased with the Too Faced Mascara they got but I think it was the fault of Too Faced not because it came from BC. I have not had a problem with any of the products I got from them and I have gotten MANY.

Omigosh, I had no idea there was a makeup thread! I'm not sure which I'm more obsessive about - makeup or Disney*! I'll for sure be reading back in this thread and looking forward to new posts!

I went to Sephora last weekend prepared to buy the new Urban Decay pore-minimizing primer, but it was just awful after I tried it on. I was so disappointed! Now I'm just looking forward to the MAC holiday palettes - they're so cute with the colorful dots on the compacts!

Anyway, I'd love to hear what you think. In the meantime, does anybody know if I can return the Sephora shadow without the receipt?

I've returned an item to Sephora without a receipt before. They'll give you store credit.

Have you tried Make Up For Ever Face and Body? It's really buildable and has nice but not mask-like coverage. I apply it with a duo-fiber brush (MAC 187) when I want lighter coverage and buff it on with a kabuki when I want a little more than light. I also really like MAC Studio Sculpt - a tiny bit goes a long way! This one really needs a flat foundation brush, though - I've had no luck with anything else, including fingers.

*Just like I use spreadsheets to plan my Disney trips, I use spreadsheets to keep track of my makeup. The spreadsheet shows my eyeshadow count at 632 but that's about 12 short since I bought 2 new MAC quads and 4 BE shadows a couple of weeks ago. That's the first makeup I've bought in a while, so I haven't been in the habit of updating!

Thanks. I'm still waiting (not so patiently) for my ULTA to open. Geesh - can't they speed it up!! ;)

No Ulta here at all - I only have access to one when we visit my MIL in PA. It's one of the few places I can find NYX shadows, which are phenomenal quality for the price. I've never checked out the Ulta brand, though - will have to do that next time!

I've ordered the NYX pencils and lipsticks from Mscuppycakes.com (really slow shipping though but great prices) and am soooo happy with the brand so far. I'll have to give the shadows a try soon.

Used my French Fries eye pencil on my lower water line today and it was super eye brightening. :)

I tried the NYX and got a bunch of them . I did not like them and really they do not hold a candle to the ULTA IMHO> I brought all the NYX back so you aer really in for a treat if you like the NYX and then go to the ULTA>

I finally got a Buxom Lip Gloss! I got Betsy. A male Sephora employee helped me pick out my color. I think he did a great job! I'm not sure it plumps my lips, I haven't tried a plumping gloss that I actually think really does anything. But I love the way it goes on and I love the color. I never thought I would pick Betsy. :confused3
