The Magic is Back - Share your Experience! Superthread

One small hiccup at the park gates this morning: when the CM scanned my three-day ticket, he looked up and said “Sir, this ticket requires a park reservation.” Fortunately, I had a screenshot of my reservation and its accompanying QR code. So he then realized that I did, in fact, have a rez, but he was still unable to scan it. I had to go into the app and have him scan the ticket shown therein. Ultimately, that worked. But it was a momentary scare. I was afraid for a second that I’d have to turn around and head back to LA empty-hearted ;-).

So the ticket does reflect a reservation, in theory? I wondered if both the QR code and ticket would need to be scanned or if the ticket somehow showed a reservation automatically. Good to know, though!

I am so incredibly happy for all of you :) With my own Disney homepark still being closed, I feel the agony of not being able to go. And while it's not open for everyone. It's a great start. And I love what DL is doing to bring back the magic.

Keep the pictures and stories coming!

Mobile ordering was available starting at 4am PST.

And just for fun I went all the way through purchasing a 2$ milk and then cancelled the order. Sounds like the app just makes it convenient if it knows you're in a park and only lets you select those restaurants, which is cool. Helps prevent ordering from the wrong restaurant.

Thanks you for checking! I was actually wondering if that was a possibility that it's just a convenience thing for those in the parks. Seems very likely now. Interesting that being not scanned in (or maybe just outside the parks?) shows both park options for mobile order.

Likely not a big deal in the grand scheme to know, but potentially important to know for PHs. And also just a nice convenience especially for those with single park tickets.

It let us mobile order for both parks when we were in Disneyland on Friday. We did have hoppers, but hadn’t been to DCA yet. The one-park thing might have been a glitch, or maybe you can filter it and that was on? 🤷‍♀️

Okay. Now I'm really intrigued. I don't see a filter option on my screen, but doesn't mean it isn't a setting somewhere.

Also more interesting! I'm seeing GCH mobile order options today. I haven't seen those ever pop up on my mobile order screen the past few days.

Ok, if anyone wants to see a LOT of photos and commentary of our experience on opening day, I dumped a full diary of our day over on my Instagram stories, and I’ll save it as a highlight. Just DM me if you want my IG name because I don’t think we’re supposed to post them on here?

You can post the link as long as you aren't promoting a site or business. :)

Thank you so much for the clarification! I appreciate it.

I do currently have an Etsy link in my IG profile for my charity masks (it’s not a business profile or anything, but still). I’m probably wrapping up the shop soon since people don’t need new masks at this point, so maybe I’ll link it then if anyone still cares. 😆

We have a vlog for 4/30 we are releasing tomorrow morning (Monday, 5/3) if anyone wants to check it out. DM me and let me know!

I'd love to hear ART experiences for anyone staying at the hotels off Harbor as things move along!

I've been worried it will be a hassle/slow to use with social distancing/limiting bus capacity... definitely helps me decide what hotel we'll stay at when we come.

I haven't seen any reports or coverage yet about "relaxation stations." I've seen reports that many of the benches are "designated eating areas," but are there areas to sit with your mask off if you're not actively eating or drinking?

I don’t think so.

Did not see any "Relaxation Stations" but tons of "Dining Destinations" (or something similar, I think that was the term they used) which were tables and just about any bench anywhere. I thought it was a good thing it wasn't a hot day because there wouldn't have been a place to just sit and rest😛

We went last minute to Sunday. It look like Sunday was more crowded than Saturday but the weather was nice and cool and the wait times were not bad early. By 10:30, Radiator Springs was an hour and other popular rides were 30-45 minutes.

I do want to mention what a refreshing and enjoyable update they did at Snow White!! Must see! Also thank you to SW for the shortest Peter Pan line I've ever seen in my 60+ years....10 minutes!!!
