We’re on the Cruise on the 24th- less than 100 days now

We live an hour north of the city, and can offer some tips…
Even though the cruise is departing from the White Bay Cruise Terminal, we never stay near that terminal the night before as there are no hotels in that area and it’s not in the city. We always get an Uber or Taxi to the port in the morning- it’s about a 20-25mins ride from the city, and we’ve never had issues with bad traffic.
We try to stay at Circular Quay/The Rocks, for a number of reasons:
- It’s close to the Overseas Passenger Terminal and we can see other ships in port
- Awesome views of the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Opera House
- Close to a whole range of transport, and you can walk down and get on a ferry, tram, train, or bus to any part of the city
- Access to a huge amount of restaurants
- Our favourite hotel is the Sydney Harbour Hotel, as you get can get great harbour views from some of the top rooms.
For sightseeing, look into the Harbour Bridge climb if you’re up to doing something at heights, or take a ferry to Taronga Zoo, Darling Harbour or Manly. Big Bus Hop-on-Hop-Off tours also start at The Rocks, and it’s a great way to see the whole city.
Hopefully by late October the temperature will be looking better, and it should be in the low 20’s celsius-wise.
