The Magic is Back - Share your Experience! Superthread

We got on all the rides we wanted to today, our last day! Longest wait we did was 20 mins at SW at 9:30a; most were 5-10 mins. HM wait was 15 mins at 5:30, and we did go through the stretching room. It was a scarier ride than I can ever remember, for some reason. Fun!

We easily got onto the Rise of the Resistance queue at 12 today and yesterday (the one you have to be in the park to join). Used the atomic clock on one phone and joined the queue on the other. (We were on the train at the time :cutie:)

Had an amazing day today! I decided to arrive at 7:30am to the structure. No line or traffic to get in. I don't need to be the first one on Main Street lol. I still waited about an hour, as they didn't start moving the structure lines up until 8:30am, but once we began to move, it was super fast. I was scanned into the gates by 8:40am.

The short wait times were amazing.I did Snow White, Indiana Jones, Space Mountain, Star Tours, Haunted Mansion, Pirates, Pinocchio, Alice in Wonderland,Big Thunder, RSR, Monsters Inc, Goofy, Ariel, Swinging Gondola, Emotional Whirlwind, Incredicoaster, ROTR. The longest wait time was Snow White. I did this while moving pretty slowly and browsing in shops. I wanted to cherish all the time I had in the park lol. I stayed all day from 8:40am-7:00pm.

Park was not crowded. A photopass CM told me that today apparently had less people than yesterday. Not sure if that is accurate, as we know sometimes CM information isn't always correct. If someone went yesterday and today, maybe they can compare? I did find it to be empty at certain points in the park. When I park hopped around 2pm, there was NO ONE in line for DL. And I literally mean no one. There were a few people for DCA, but once I made it across, I went straight to a turnstile and got in.

I started my day at California Adventure, and then headed to Disneyland for the 1pm park hop. I got there a little before 12:30, and soon there were lines at all the turnstiles. They held us there until exactly 1:pm then let us in. I really enjoyed the day. I spent most of it walking around and soaking in the atmosphere, taking pictures (like I still had an AP, ha ha). I did go on Snow White, so cute. The train and Indiana Jones were both down when I was there. At the Haunted Mansion I felt like the music in the ballroom was darker than before. It all looked so good, though! Very fresh, in a creepy, dark way. lol

Sorry! Still working on the food available lists!

Maurice's Treats? Sadly not open according to the reopening list :(
The queue for Snow White spills into the area where Maurice's treats normally are and uses the princess visit queue, too. I don't think that it will open anytime soon.

Oh, yes please! I'm usually not up early unless I stayed up late lol! Would definitely be interested in someone checking the app to see if mobile ordering opens early/what time. I know for ToD I could mobile order before the gates opened so should be the same with the parks.

I don't personally think placing mobile orders for the day as soon as one can is super important based on what I'm seeing, but it's good information to know if someone has their heart set on something at a certain time/has to eat at a certain time. Like with littles or something who can't wait too long for food. In that case booking mobile orders early in the day for later might be a good strategy.
I think you have to be in the park to mobile order any food. I had a park hopper today, and when I was at California Adventure the only options that came up for me were at DCA, not Disneyland. Later, when I entered Disneyland I could mobile order for Disneyland eateries.

A few pics from our adventures the past couple of days. Has been fun reading everyone's thoughts. :flower3:
Lovely pictures, thank you for sharing. Has been so nice to read about everyone's experiences over the last couple of days.
A tinge of sadness watching from Down-under here in Oz as it is likely going to be a very long time before we can return but it is so wonderful to see my favourite park back open and everyone enjoying themselves there again.

What an incredible day! We were blessed with gorgeous weather and a short wait at the gate thanks to staying onsite at GCH (left hotel at 8:15 and on Main Street by 8:25). The warm welcome from the cast members on Main Street this morning brought tears to my eyes!

Thanks to the tips here, we started in Adventure Land and hit the following before lunch due to the low crowds: Indy, Haunted Mansion x 2 (once with the stairs, once with the elevator), Pirates, Millennium Falcon, ROTR (BG 27), BTMRR, Mr. Toad, Tea Party, Alice, Small World, Space Mountain!

We had a delicious lunch at Cafe Orleans, as always, and even with the limited menu. Tip: you can’t order pommes frites separately at the moment, but you can substitute them for another side on your entree! Also, since they aren’t offering beignets, I pre-selected a Mint Julep mobile order window near the end of our meal, and they were hot and ready when we finished lunch.

After lunch, we rode Peter Pan, Star Tours twice, Astro Orbitors, Autopia, and Snow White. Most rides were 0-10 min waits, except for Snow White and Millenium Falcon (while ROTR was down), which were each 30 min. We elected not to park hop today and spent time taking pictures, enjoying the scenery and shopping. I agree with those who mentioned that it felt slightly less magical without the roaming entertainment - I miss the Dapper Dans! That said, we saw about 20 characters today and were able to have a hilarious conversation with Rey from her catwalk about my daughters’ allegiances (one was bounding as Mandalorian, the other as Vader).

We are so happy we chose to attend over opening weekend! It was worth it to have such a pleasant, stress-free experience, and we felt very safe given the ease of social distancing and excellent compliance with masking. I haven’t seen crowds this low since SWGE opening weekend. Enjoy it while it lasts!

Thanks for the info about the Snow White line! That makes sense it would snake past there.

Intrigued about the mobile order differences between our apps! I was able to get all the way to the payment screen for either park and I'm 400 miles away 😬. Obviously didn't push through an order, though. But I could select for either park and get fully to a payment screen.

Mobile Ordering worked fine for me today. I ordered from Plaza Inn, French Market and Hollywood Lounge.

Market House (Starbucks) on Main Street DOES NOT use mobile ordering. You have to order in person, but you can scan the QR code to check the menu. Not sure if it's the same at the Starbucks at DCA.

Interestingly enough, a new pop-up is on the Disneyland site reminding about reservations when navigating to the ticket screen.

Mobile ordering was available starting at 4am PST.

And just for fun I went all the way through purchasing a 2$ milk and then cancelled the order. Sounds like the app just makes it convenient if it knows you're in a park and only lets you select those restaurants, which is cool. Helps prevent ordering from the wrong restaurant.

We got in line at 7am on Friday at the harbor side. We were through the gates at 8:15 and took a long time to walk down Main Street and wave to all the cast members. We got to talk to Ken Potrock for a bit so that was exciting! The energy walking in was incredible!! We also got to see one of our friends who is a CM right when we walked in!! It was magical. ☺️

We headed to space not expecting it to be open. But it was!! We got two rides in before 9!

We could not get over the lack of crowds. It was amazing. So enjoyable. We got everything we wanted done. It did seem to be a bit more crowded after 1 on Friday but we really didn’t notice a difference after 1 on Saturday. 🤷‍♀️

Mobile order didn’t seem to go as fast as it for us when we went to WDW. The most popular places seemed to be tropical hideaway, mint julep bar and ronto roasters. Almost everywhere else had availability every time I checked.

We also got to ride HM. Both time we were directed down by the mausoleum and downstairs into a backstage area. It was SO COOL!!! We came out into the changing portraits hallway! Both times the line was about 40 min but we only waited about 15? While we did miss the stretching room it was neat to see backstage.

My biggest concern was finding a place to eat and drink and I worried for no reason. Basically every bench is labeled as a designated eating area. They had tables and chairs everywhere! It was so nice!!

We are so happy we went and got to experience all of this and be in our happy place again!!

Crowds are much lighter than Friday. I arrived at the Harbor gates at 6:15 and the line was less than half as long as it was at the same time on Friday.

If it pleases the court, I’d like to introduce exhibits A through I ;-).

Love all the reports! I keep wanting to change my reservations and see if I can go early but I really want to go when the park is open longer. I just hope the crowds are still low in a few weeks!
