No, Purim is the celebration from the book of Ester in the old Testament. Cool three cornered cookies, much drinking, kids dressing up, delivering baskets of goodies in exchange for money. Much festivty. I actually thought it was a week or so back.

Passover's the book of Exodus. Let my people go, and all that. A Place set at the table for Elijah to join the meal. Unleavened bread, the kids hiding the matzo and holding it for ransom. Good times.

I already gave DS 13 his chocolate bunnies. DD doesn't like chocolate, so in the morning she's getting a PILE of gum...and new underpants. ('Cuz when your shorts are too tight, your day just doesn't feel right...) Do new underdrawers count as a festive gift?

I have had a total Winner day and I am freaky tired. Why would anyone do this to themselves on a regular basis?

House is clean. As much food as I can do ahead of time is cooked. Easter Bunny has visited. I'm done.

Oh, and DS6 decided at bedtime that we HAD to leave something for the EB. Huh? I said, "Why?"
"Well, we leave cookies and milk for Santa."
"Yeah. Oh. Okay. What do you think we should put out?"
He thought about it seriously for a minute.
"Carrots... and... a bowl of water."

So, we have carrots and a bowl of water on the coffee table. That was a curve I wasn't expecting.

We leave carrots for the EB and last year our cat manage to "bite" some fur off the little bugger so he left a 1/2 eaten carrot near the front door with some of his fur The kids want to put poor Houdini in his cat carrier tonight so he cannot get the EB this year

My kids are not asleep, because they keep getting up to see if the Easter Bunny ate his carrots yet. I'm short one Easter basket, and I have no idea where in the hell it could be, so I'm in a bit of a panic. I might have to substitute the fruit basket and hope one of the girls doesn't notice.

On the upside, I made a cake, several dozen iced sugar cookies (in cute spring shapes, frosted in cute spring colors) and I made a huge thing of potato salad. I cooked a healthy dinner, did 3 loads of laundry, vaccumed twice and have been washing dishes all day. I took groceries to my mom, played with the kids and shipped a big box of stuff for eBay.

This might not seem outstanding, but I'm running on about 3 hours sleep and I have a raging sinus infection. Somebody better give me a flippin' award or something.

Dang, I'm tired. I sure wish the EB didn't need my help.

Someone had to mention Strep on Thursday and guess what I came down with last night Can't swallow, achy bones/joints, headache, etc.....at least I'm only cooking for the 4 of us and not the whole freak show. Dr's office called me back within 5 minutes and called me a script in so no need to run out to urgent care or anything....have I mentioned I love my Doctor(s).

That is DD13, I mean DD14's bday cake. Her bday is tomorrow and her nickname is Chicky, so the peeps were fitting.

Her dad is plotting what evil things he can do to her peeps this year. Last hear she ate all the heads off of his peeps and he plans to pay her back tomorrow! . I said it was a cruel thing to do on a kids' bday but he's right that she expects something!

Her cake is awesom!!! I have to make 30 baseball cupcakes for Thursday. Here's hoping they are easy to do! I can't believe my son will be 7 this week

We had a very close call last night. The Easter Bunny almost didn't make it.

DH was watching boxing, and I'm sitting on the couch, both of us waiting for the kiddo's to go to sleep.

Boxing is not my thing, so I fell asleep. DH woke me up when he was headed for bed, so I stumble upstairs, still half asleep and not really thinking about anything except my bed.

I make it up the stairs, start taking clothes off, crawl into bed, cover up, and ahhh, back to sleep.

HOLY CRAP!! I sat straight up about 3 minutes later. DH, DH, the Easter Bunny never came!!

Yeah, well, go ahead, he tells me.

Gee thanks. You're such a knight in shining armor, aren't you?

Hey Y'all..I survived the birthday party, really not bad at all-only 9 kids including my own. So DS got his party and I dont' have to feel bad that no so many came. Two kids asked if they could stay after when they were being picked up..the mom's knew better and said no...THANK GOD...they must have seen the look on my face...

Then I managed to put together the Easter Baskets last night. I had all the stuff in my closet, so I just tossed it all the buckets. They ended up with Waayyyy too much stuff, again..They still haven't eaten breakfast so I am sure they have been stuffing themselves with candy.


My roast is sitting out, I am going to pop it in the oven soon..Thinking of a late lunch type meal. It's just us, so it doesn't matter. Was thinking of going to the movies, but I think I will just sit around and do nothing.


This is boring..sorry...
