Hotel with separate bedroom and at least two beds (Desert Inn, Camelot?)

I'm looking for a hotel for 4 adults (me, my husband and my 2 adult daughters) that's close to the park. We need a minimum of two beds, and I prefer that one of the beds be in a separate room. The ones I've seen so far that seem to fit the bill the best are the Desert Inn and the Camelot. I was going to book the Desert Inn because it's so close to the entrance, but my main hesitation on the Desert Inn is that I've seen a few reviews that complain the beds are hard. I cannot sleep on a hard mattress; every time I've tried I wake up with a backache, which is not what I want at DL. The Desert Inn also has a sleeper sofa, and I'm wondering how comfortable it is?

We stay onsite a lot, but the price for a setup like this at any of the onsite hotels is pretty cost-prohibitive. Plus we're planning a trip next summer where we'll definitely be onsite minus kids, so it's not a priority for this trip.

Theoretically I could book two rooms, but that's probably going to be more expensive and I really enjoy being in the same room as my daughters. Although adjoining rooms might be a possibility.

Any suggestions or ideas would be appreciated.

We recently stayed in a Family Suite at Castle Inn and Suites. Two separate sleeping rooms (1 king, 2 queens) separated by a door, one bathroom and two vanities. Worked well for us and adult children. Not fancy but well maintained and an easy walk to the parks. We ended up ordering Denny’s to go for rope drop mornings and the food was quite good.

Desert Inn and Suites is my go to hotel / motel at Disneyland. My most recent stay there was end of June 2025.

Honestly I have never noticed the hard beds. After rope drop to late night 3 days in a row, by the time I get back to my room I am soo tired I am comatose as soon as I lie down.

I was going to suggest this. We have 3 kids so 3 sleeping surfaces is a must and a door between us is a nice bonus. My only negative was our room was near the dumpster, which I swear they emptied very noisily every morning. But there were plenty of rooms not near the dumpster which I would request if we stayed there again. The walk to the parks was fine from there as well.

I stayed once with two family members (3 adults) at the Best Western Plus Anaheim Inn on Harbor, just a little past Desert Inn. It had two queens in the main room and a separate king separated by some type of sliding door or screen in the wall. I can’t recall exactly, only that it wasn’t a hinged door, but it provided plenty of privacy. The king room was quite spacious with a separate climate control.

I can’t sleep on hard mattresses and didn’t have any issues.
