A tropical heat wave of 32 degrees. The day is expected to be partly cloudy. I say heat wave because on Friday, 1/16, the temperature was in the high teens!

I am still in PR. I changed my flight to a later one into Richmond, and I'm gonna rent a car to drop off at the Vienna, VA metro station for 2 days. Let's see if I can get better between now and then.

I wish I could go. But standing around all day in the cold isn't in the cards for me.

We considered flying up and staying with friends who live in DC, but ended up opting to watch it at home. Now that it's here, I kind of regret not making the trip. Even with a crappy view, in the cold weather, I'm sure the electricity of the moment will be overwhelming!

Buy some of those chemical foot warmers too. One in each boot and glove will do wonders to help keep you warm . Sporting Goods stores here in Wisconsin have them.

I am so jealous that you are getting snow. I'm north of you, near the 'mountains' and we STILL haven't gotten a good snow. It stopped snowing the year after we bought that darn snow blower.

Well, it would be fun if the kids hadn't been out of school all last week. Wah!!!!!! I want them to go to school. Seriously.

Also, I would like them to be potty trained.

I wish I could have gone, but with three kids, it would have taken an act of congress. Or something. Still, I'll be watching what I can on the old television. I noticed that they even seemed excited on Fox News. Not that I watch Fox; just flipping the channels. Honest!

This was DC last January. Unseasonably warm...With the detoxification of DC tomorrow I can't wait to return! It's a beautiful area!

You don't have to break the bank to enjoy a nice glass of bubbly. I've bought a couple of exceptional bottles of Prosecco over the years for under $10 bucks.

I have the hand warmers. Thanks for the tip about the foot warmers. So here's my 'wait in the cold inaugural day' check list:

chemical handwarmers (check)
chemical foot warmers (will get)
thermal undies (will get)
newspaper and cardboard to stand on (check)
Foldable camp seat (check)
Two thermos--one for hot chocolate, one for coffee (check)
Travel mugs (check)
Little nip sizes of cordials (nothing like a little brandy or bailey's in the coffee. And yes I know I am breaking a rule but alas I don't have a WDW refillable mug).
