Chris I knew that was you. Couldn't fool me with that flowing "do". ;)

I missed the concert, I don't have HBO. :sad1: If anyone sees when it will be repeated elsewhere, let me know!

You can watch the concert online at www.hbo.com/weareone

It was FABULOUS! I am so jealous, my youngest brother, 19 almost 20yo went to DC with some friends just to hang out and soak it all in. He kept calling our mom today and all she could hear was "I am on the Mall!!!" :rotfl:

We too watched the Children's Inauguration concert, with DD jumping up and down screaming for the JoBros...I do not remember being enamored with boys at that age....*sigh*...it is too early for that nonsense!!

I have been vacillating between teary and giddy all day. There was an outstanding full page ad in the Trib this morning with a bunch of hands stacked on each other. It talked about how many people dreamed what America could be and that tomorrow morning, America will wake up and realize it is no longer a dream.

I am so glad all the guys will be out of the office tomorrow because I AM watching the Inauguration! I have a great setup with two computer monitors so I can work on one and watch on the other. :thumbsup2 I am hoping DD will get to watch at school but I couldn't ask since they haven't had school for five days! :rolleyes2 She asked me to record it for her tho, even tho she is only 8 1/2 she has taken an interest in the election and was very happy Obama won...uh oh, does that mean I am raising a terrorist? :scared: :upsidedow

Do you think I'd get banned for doing a play-by-play posting of what's going on during the inauguration?::mic:

Ah- who am I kidding-I can't type that fast. In English at least.

Well, goodnight fellow liberals. It is now January 20, and the swearing in happens in 11 hours. Just think: the eight-year nightmare is almost over. :cheer2:

My daughter is home safe and sound from the concert, and I'm turning in to catch a few zzzs before venturing into DC nice and early...

Our long national nightmare is almost over. It's been a long time comin' but I know a change is gone' come! Hallelujah. :cool1:

Good morning fellow liberals! I am so excited for this day, there were some days over the past 8 years that I felt couldn't get here fast enough and here it is!

I am keeping my son (13 ) home today to watch everything. Only the kids who had social studies at the time of the ceremony would be able to watch and he does not. He worked hard on this election from holding signs, canvassing, data entry and so on, he is so excited ! There are many lessons that can be taught outside of the classroom and this is one!

Happy day everyone!

Vickey

Enjoy the day my friends. :goodvibes

(now where is that bottle of whiskey...)

Hey, everyone, it's finally here!!!!!! Happy day to all.

And for our friends who are a little worried, cheer up. Words of wisdom from Michael Stipe:

It's the end of the world as we know it.
It's the end of the world as we know it.
It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine.

Happy, happy day, all!!!!!!!!!!!

Peres to Bush: If only what you did to Saddam was done to Hitler

Published: 01.19.09, 18:49 / Israel News

Outgoing US President George Bush telephoned President Shimon Peres bidding him farewell on the occasion of the end of Bush's term as president Tuesday.

Peres said to Bush, "If the world had acted against Hitler the way you acted against Saddam Hussein, the lives of millions would have been saved." The president added, "You made a historic contribution to the entire world and to the Jewish people in particular. We will treasure this forever and will never forget it." (Ronen Medzini)

Hey everyone, it's a snow day here. Big fat fluffy snowflakes. It's Obama's gift to the children of North Carolina. Why, it's a miracle! We're going to go out it in right now (of course, we'll probably last 10 minutes and then go have some hot cocoa).

Thanks, Barack!

Hurry for snow days. :cool1:

We got about two inches yesterday too. :goodvibes There was a horrific multi-vehicle accident in my county though, fifty cars and trucks and two fatalities. :sad1:

I was over at a friend's house yesterday when she got a call that her BIL, SIL, niece, and nephew were travelling on 70 west at the time of the accident. I still haven't heard from her, I'm hoping they were lucky enough to not be involved in it. :(

On a more positive note, things are abuzz even here, 60 miles out from DC. :cheer2: We have two big-screens out in the atrium, I am planning to take my lunch break out there to watch the festivities. Even my 4-year old DD is excited. She wants to know when the girls are getting their puppy.

Oh happy day. :cheer2:
